Divine expression by Ustaad ji in Raag Jaunpuri! For anyone interested in lyrics - There are a few versions of this song in North India and Pakistan. From what I gather the word “Piya” (The beloved) is used here as a metaphor for a spiritual experience. Nit kyun bolay papeeha moray piyaakay Bain? Why o why do you sing Papeeha /Chatrikva (o bird) to remind me of my beloved? Sakhi Rowat Rowat Beeti Rain Dear, I wept through the night yet there is no sign of my beloved Another version - Tyaju praan mauko birahu satawain beeti sagari rain I cannot bear this separation any longer, I may as well end this life, look even the night has passed now. Another version - Woh toh Aawat jaawat Roke chhail The beloved plays a cruel game, comes and goes, but I can’t hold on.
Looking at the views of this song, it made me realise that people will always run behind only those things that are in trend or in fashion and not try to introspect what their soul craves for. Meri itni aukaat nahi hai ki is gaaney pe apni raay de saku. Can music get any better? I don't think so 🙌
@@bertiealexander4705 no idea, I haven’t heard Sami sb singing Jaunpuri in a mehfil. I might have another version of it during a riyaz session with me but it’s not a concert performance.
What an amazing composition in Raag Jaunpuri. I would love to hear more of Ustad Naseeruddin Sami. Rohail Hyatt is doing a marvelous work by creating this amazing blend of Classical Music and Contemporary Music. Love and Respect from India.
I have fallen in love with his singing talent....never listened anything better. Amazing talent just wish people should could be more aware. He deserves much more audience
Can someone post the lyrics and the author and translate this? I can understand Urdu, Punjabi and English but want to understand the meaning in depth. Thanks in advance!
What a fuckin travesty that so many people are deprived of this classic. Mo Mac tavish - I have consumed so much from you over the years. Thank you for this. Much love from India.
Saadat Shaikh there isn’t much said in this song. These words and the way they are sung are used to incite a mood within the listener and that’s the surprising part, it works!

My heart sinks thinking such huge talent has so little audience. Ustad is in a league of ustaado ke ustad. So pure in his singing and Sur .
