      Actually there is no know picture showing the left side of HAN'S blaster. However Luke's blaster had the single center greeblie. To to say one way or the other whether Han's had one is just a matter of debate. I have taken number screenshots of Han's blaster from ESB and at no time was the left side EVER shown on screen.

    Hi, I'm currently weathering my ESB DL-44, and I was wondering if you had any advice on weathering the flash hider. I was going to make a paint wash and clear coat, but if you know of something better, please comment! Thanks, and great looking blaster!!

    Another beautiful piece mate. Im so happy with my new hammer and grill from you for my ANH blaster...but now Im thinking about sliding the whole top forward like yours...is it just a matter of getting another new hammer off you? Or do i have to drill new holes and relocate the trigger aswell? Any advise would be greatly appreciated

    • @dl44blaster
      @dl44blaster  3 года назад

      Thanks Julz! You will need to get another hammer if you want to do that mod. I designed 2 up. Both are up on Shapeways I believe. I’m trying to make them available outside Shaoeways to help with pricing as well. So DM if interested on Instagram @BeYourOwnScoundrel.
      One design (the one you have I imagine) is a direct substitute for the denix hammer and the 2nd is if you want to slide the top of the denix forward like in this video.
      There is a link I put in this videos description. Use it to find “TheRPF(Build Threads)”. Definitely go there as I just put up a breakdown on how I go about sliding the top forward. It should answer all your questions on how to go about it urself. I appreciate the kind words as well as you finding inspiration from these builds. Means a lot 🍻

    what do you use to “polish” the denix after using aluminum black?

    • @dl44blaster
      @dl44blaster  Год назад

      Nothing honestly other than continuously reapplying, lightly sanding and then reapplying the AB until it’s where I want it to be. Ill rub it down with a damp cloth in between as well. But Mostly just continuous effort.

    They made a lot of rubber props of these blasters as well and of so many people are mistakenly calling the Dagobah blaster. If you pause ESB at the correct spots you can see the rubber props in Luke's holster. 1) When he is climbing back up the catwalk after being sucked out the giant window. The scope is what gives it away. 2) Just as Luke stops sliding his first slide down the trash chute and he begins to get up, you can see the rubber prop with the scope and mount having been ripped off and the original yellow rubber tint can be seen. Also the kind of scope mount that was there you can tell was he Jedi style scope mount by the shape of the yellow and mounting screws.
    When watching a behind the scene video of Vader catching Han's blaster, they filmed it many times over and over and essentially David Prowse had to catch about three or four blasters one after the other until they got the "right shot" for the scene. Look closely at that and you will see a few rubber props there as well.
    As for the "Dagobah Blaster" as far as I am concerned that is a myth that a lot of stupid people climbed onboard with. Luke pulls his blaster out twice on Dagobah and BOTH TIMES t is what everyone calls his Bespin blaster. It is CLEARLY seen BOTH times on screen. I have screen shots to prove it. Most people are going off a publicity still made for the movie and they probably just picked the first prop they found.

      Yes, the two times he pulls the blaster out , for close ups, its the Bespin version but when Artoo falls off the Xwing , theres a shot from behind Luke standing on the bank of the river brandishing his blaster. Theres also a shot of him running to retrieve Artoo after hes spat out. In both these shots, theres absolutely no doubt what so ever that he is indeed holding the "Dagobah" blaster.

    • @thereturningshadow
      @thereturningshadow 2 года назад

      @@TwoSousand Yes there is absolutely doubt. I have looked at those Dagobah scenes over and over again with zoom and adjusting the brightness and gamma to lightening the scenes without washing them out and moving the footage frame by frame and adjusting sharpness and I can say without any doubt the "Dagobah" blaster was solely a publicity photo blaster. And if I could post screen shots here in the comments I would to prove it.
      I even JUST NOW rewatched that footage. Here are the times the blaster is visibly seen on screen. Not including long distance in holster shots like Luke standing on the X-Wing or jumping into the swamp.
      1) When Luke drops his helmet in the cockpit - the blaster is in the holster and movement makes the blaster too blurry to determine either way.
      2) When Luke climbs out of the swamp water onto the bank. Again the blaster is in the holster and movement makes it too blurry to determine as well as movement around to the front of his leg.
      3) When Luke pulls his blaster when Artoo is swallowed. This moment is CLEARLY showing the "Bespin" blaster in his hand. Absolutely no doubt. Can be proven with a screenshot.
      4) When Luke stops running around the bank and stumbles a bit. Even in 1080p there is not enough clarity to say it is the "Dagobah" blaster, plus it is shown from the left side and Hamill's fingers are blocking any details.
      5) When Luke is running to get Artoo. Again even in 1080p and movement during Luke's running makes the blaster a blurry blob preventing ANY clarity of detail to determine it as the "Dagobah" blaster.
      6) When Luke is picking up Artoo, the blaster almost falls out of the holster showing it is definitely the "Bespin" blaster. he large scope mount knob is visible. Based on the blaster's movement, I have no doubt the filming even cut just after it completely felt out the holster.
      7) When Luke pulls it out on Yoda. Absolutely nobody ban debate that this is clearly the "Bespin" blaster.
      8) When Luke puts on his gun belt to go after Vader. In the holster, never full seen.
      9) When Luke is prepping his X-Wing to leave. The blaster is in the holster but the holster cutout clearly show this to be the "BESPIN" blaster showing the large single scope mount knob.
      So yes, I have doubt the "Dagobah" blaster was EVER used on set for filming the movie.
      This is a PUBLICITY PHOTO and left side greeblies can be seen indicating this could be the "Dagobah" style blaster.
      townsquare.media/site/442/files/2020/04/luke-skywalker-empire-strikes-back.jpg
      This was NOT any film footage used in the movie. THIS is the photo everyone and their idiot brother are taking as the Dagobah Blaster and since it was on set for THIS photo is MUST HAVE been used for filming and they are ALL WRONG!
      Hell, even the the foremost expert on making these replica props, The Blaster Factory (War Machine/Field Marshal) agrees with me as I have made these comments on his videos. But he makes that replica and the idiots that believe will buy them.

    • @TwoSousand
      @TwoSousand 2 года назад

      @@thereturningshadow i too have watched those same scenes over and over again and if you think for one second that Luke DOESN'T USE the Dagobah Blaster in those scenes that i described, then you sir are a fool.. even though these scenes might be fast paced and even blurry as you say, anyone that really knows the blaster can easily see by the height of the scope alone, that it is indeed the Dagobah version. So I would suggest to you, rather than call people idiots, you do more homework because you couldnt be more wrong with your comment.

      @@thereturningshadow I need to reply here simply because you brought up someone you referred to as “foremost expert on making these” replicas. He is not.
      He takes credit for parts he didn’t create and to this day still sells 3D prints of files I regretfully shared with him a long time ago.
      He doesn’t know or understand any of these details at all. He’s not the foremost expert as you mentioned. He simply regurgitates informational that is feed to him and usually incorrectly at that. Sadly people like yourself believe the lies he tells.
      It’s unfortunate that I need to respond to this misinformation but someone else may innocently read this so it’s just to set the record straight.
      It’s also sad that respectful people within the community turn a blind eye to such behavior simply to make a profit. I’m only sorry I didn’t see your post sooner.
      Whether you want to believe any of this or not that’s up to you. But please don’t reference someone who is dishonest as some sort of end all and be all source. Thats disrespectful to this hobby and to the people who actually do the work..
