It originally aired on prime time public television. It was intended as show parents could enjoy watching with their kids. Yes, there was a Burger King kids meal promotion, but back then, tv shows tried to appeal to a greater audience.
19:34 Moments like this in CC are some of my favorites because of how quiet, chill and even a bit melancholic but in an almost comforting and relaxing way. The lack of music, dark shadows and the sound of the fire crackling and just the simple casual way in how Muggle and max talk to eachother in this scene. I love scenes like this :)
This show is actually a prime-time series for older audiences that aired along with The Simpsons. The show failed due to being like a Saturday Morning Cartoon along with its timeslot.
Yoooo! This cartoon was so entertaining as a kid but I'm seeing the adult themes and the corruption of Washington how they managed to splice that in there is pure genius. The 90s were truly the Golden Age of cartoons
okay not gonna lie I fucking crack a smile when this dude talking killing the cops who just book him, only to turn into a scared girl the second he see a mouse scamper by
When I first watched the complete series, I was stunned they didn't make more. I respected the senators during the meeting, with one having a comic book hidden and the other reading that magazine. That tells you they are professional. Does anybody even know the music the janitor was listening too?
Our parents worked too hard at mKing a living to give a dang about "kiddy cartoons" that they didn't think were worth taking up their valuable work or relaxation time. At least, that's what my dad told me. He also doesn't see the point of comedians. He grew up in the 50s, in a different world, without a TV 📺.
I love how they spent like 10% of this episode just fat shaming William Howard Taft. And if that's how they deal with a couple of mice at the Pentagon that would certainly help explain a bit why the military budget is so bloated
It was a bit ahead of its time. The Simpsons was the most risque thing on network TV until later in the decade. They couldn't compete with better shows on cable, and those without cable were not interested. There were quite a few adult-but-family-friendly animations that didn't get past a first season.
its satire, subliminal exposing that for what they are.... OVER THE TOP AND OVER DO IT.. look at the gulf war` 1992 as an example of many thousands, native Indian genocide which now is America built upon their slaughter... over the top , so called Columbus the traveler my hairy ass .. list goes on mate.. of 'over the top' - this hints tr5uths , not just a cartoon for kids ya know, this is adult stuff mainly.. in the '90's they were genuinely trying to bring forth messages of what was going on any way they could.. obviously not the be end all of its purpose but they did/do slip truths in every now and again ,.
For a total of 13 episodes. Burger King Kids Meal had Capitol Critters toys and a SNES video game was planned but sucks that it got cancelled for unknown reasons
@@VeganPopTarts No. Unfortunately it sucks that there's no ROM on what the game looks like and I wish it still exist before being cancelled. Family Dog video game for the SNES based on the adult animated series was released with 3 hard ass levels
Technically but it's not despite making as Burger King Kids Meal toys. This show along with Fish Police and Family Dog has so many adult themes and it aired on nights instead on Saturday or Sunday morning cartoons. Nothing beats The Simpsons during that year in the early 90s
Charlie is so good at voices.
Damn, what a smart show. Never noticed as a kid.

this isn’t even a bad show, its just super surreal to watch
tannerin Thanks for subbing 😄
The stink master is here!
That ending really shook me in how Max knew that there were good people in the government. It truly shows how good of a rat he is.
Actually, he's a mouse.

Yup and there is some gems today
This show is disturbingly relevant toaay...
Sad, isn't it?
Once in a while i come back and watch this show i like it so much.
Thank you for putting these episodes up.
Thanks! 💙
Loved this show I've been looking for it forever.
I'm happy that you found it again ^_^
12:33 - 12:46 is gold! 😂
Thanks for uploading this, I always thought that this was kinda a continuation or in the same universe as Mrs. Frisby and The Rats of N.I.M.H.
That would be pretty interesting if it was. A lot of people who like this show are also into the Rats of NIMH franchise.
This feels more like a sequel than Timothy To the Rescue does IMO.
Yup, it does. But some of those fans dress up as the characters when they go to Comic Conventions. Just another obscure mouse.
@@jacobshort6528I pray to god that's a joke.

they stole that line

Best William Howard Taft Jokes I Have Ever Heard: 5:49. 6:05. 6:28.
I might steal them. LOL.
And then... there's Road Rovers.
Adult themes in a kids cartoon...nothing has changed....
I wonder how they got away with some of the adult themes.

i feel that this was supposed to keepup with shows that were more mature. animated adult programs that is.

Can anyone tell me what song is playing at the beginning of the show when the janitor is cleaning?
Not sure but it sounds similar to an 80s song called The Super Bowl Shuffle.
12:34 The fuck?! That's a little over doing it just for a couple of rats.

did you hear the senator cuss?
+Mickel Harris-Jones I haven't. If I did, I forgot lol. I'm going to have to watch this again.
At what time in the video? and what did he say?
no but I met a couple of camp Pidgeon's :0

It was supposed to be for adults and kids I guess, like families could watch it together. That's how I remember it being marketed anyway.
