  • A concept sketch from this Monday. Boy was I rusty. It was a while since I picked up a pencil and sat at the drawing board. Before one can create something original you need some time to dive in. The drawings I created in this drawing sessions felt pretty stiff, and they tended to take about 40 to 50 min. Usually when I im a grove images come-out in 10-20 min. Regardless the most important thing is that the pencil is moving.
Tip: The obvious advantage if drawing daily it that it helps you get better, that's a no brainer, but it also reduces the warm-up time before you can get some decent work out. Your muscle memory from the day before is still lingering and you'll be able to get in a groove in 20 min rather than 1 or 2 hours. In some cases if you haven't drawn for months it may take you a few days or weeks.
I hope you’re enjoying this series on the drawing process. If you find this content of value or enjoyable you can support our channel by pressing that pesky like button.
