Hi, what you could do is stick masking tape on the wall, directly on the spots where the adhesive will be sticking to. Instead of having the pegboard stick directly to your wall, the masking tape will serve as some sort off protection.

That mirror is gonna break and so as the acrylic frame. I have those Peg boards and when your rooms gets moist cause of humidifier or air-conditioner the adhesive foams will peel off. I hope you place something less fragile on those peg boards. I love the aesthetics of your room though.
