Noreaga point and the jetties are 2 different places near each other. They are rebuilding the point to protect it. I live here and it's amazing!!

Crab Island is also a good place to be. You can rent a pontoon boat and just relax in the emerald water with booths to have fun , food and drinks at.

Please treat the springs well and pick up your trash! I have lived here my whole life and the two springs I used to visit as a kid are now nasty and green, when they used to be as clear as glass. The spring environment is very fragile and changes rapidly.

As a Floridian, and local destin resident I'm ashamed to say I haven't done some of these! I've been to power up water sports though! I guess I need to do some more exploring around Destin!

Lived in Ft Walton/ Destin my whole life and agree that it is a beautiful place. But the traffic is worse than Atlanta or Los Angeles.
Try and come off season...Destin only gets cold in January through Early March.
We have to seasons Summer and winter!

We were there a couple of years ago, and we always look forward to eating at the Shrimp Basket. The service this last trip was horrible. It took hours to get our food.

Fort pekins is in Pensacola
Please check out the only place that RENTS rod and reels and tackle to you in the Destin and 30A area. They do wonderful packages.
It's called Reel30A. They are good people and rent surf fishing equipment when you come for vacation.
On your rental page there is no map to where where the property is located. You don't need to give the exact address, but an arrow with an approximate location.

Just 63 miles north of Destin...just 57 miles west of Destin......just whole vacation in the CAR
Fort Barrancas (Naval Air Station in Pensacola) is better IMHO than Fort Pickens. You can also tour the Lighthouse and Naval Aviation Museum while you're there. That said neither Fort Pickens, Fort Barrancas or some of the other places you mentioned (ie. Morrison Springs) are in Destin. They are "around" Destin I suppose if you count an hour or more driving.
This isn't a video about Destin, it's a video about Northwest Florida.

@@noh8994 I love Gulf Shores, I went there and Orange Beach 2 years ago. But out of all the gulf vacation towns I like Panama best.

Noriega point is so beautiful. I appreciate the fact that I live so close to destin!! People don't appreciate the beauty around them sometimes. Off season is when i go because traffic 🙃 is crazy. Glad we have our secret back roads 🤣

Dan Dahl, I expect not, when you’re traveling to be in destin that’s probably not in your vacation plan. All i was trying to say is that one hour away is not that far to me. Again, distance and time are relative to the individual. Some people may think one hour is a long time and too far, others may not see it that way.
