A little background about my song “Cranes of Potter,” off my latest album “How the Mighty Fall”. Available for streaming here: truegrit.ffm.to/howthemightyfall
I am thoroughly enjoying these inspiration videos explaining the story behind the song. Gives me so much more appreciation and value for what we hear. Keep them coming I’m a fan!
There’s a helluva lot more weight to a single word in this song than you could ever find in anything modern country radio is playing and making these days! Can’t beat this story!
Awesome insight into a story seemingly too good to not be true. Would love to see a similar inspiration series on the Seneca album. Stumbled across ‘Seneca Creek’ on a long drive a few weeks back and it moved me to tears. Incredible to discover it was a true story about your grandparents. Thanks for sharing these stories Charles. Look forward to catching a show some time soon.
Holy shit I live like 45 minutes from this spot he’s talking about. It’s the Shell Cracker plant that just came online a few weeks ago. I love this song and figured it was about some local story but I didn’t figure it would be local to me. I know most of CWG’s band is from Pittsburgh and he is from Morgantown which isn’t far at all
I couldn't for the life of me figure out how this song got its title. I always assumed Potter was someones last name, and crane was referring to the bird. Mystery solved. Although, I'm sure they'll never solve the mystery of the actual body.

Love it! Can't wait to see him in Delaware. (I though its gonna be a long drive. hahaha)
I literally searched RUclips last week looking for an explanation for this, it's one of my favorites from you besides maybe hazelton.
And the dude just made it up. Awesome, isn’t it?
Yep

Such a beautifully written song. It’s been on repeat in my pickup for days. Love your music, keep it coming!
This is hands down my favorite of yours. As a history lover it’s what honestly hooked me as a fan and made me go “oh wait, WHO is this now?” 🤌🏼👏🏼
