A GREAT tip I found out while doing this exercise is that after completing this whole tutorial, go back to your base shape layer, go over the outline of the cloud using the brush Stucco and go over all the edges, giving it more of a fluffy texture and makes your cloud look MORE realistic! try it and thank me later :) happy drawing!! PS: thanks for the consistent upload on YT, really helps inspiring me to draw and practice more, thank you Genevieve
BIG YES to that! 💯 You can see in my example at the start that some of the edges are fluffy and that’s exactly how I did it! That’s being said, I chose not to include that step in the video because you do have to be very careful doing it, otherwise it’s easy for the cloud to lose any kind of definition whatsoever 😅
I guess you could call it an executive decision, trying to keep the technique as foolproof as possible! 😅 Anyway, super happy you made it work for you 🤍
Hi Geneviève, thanks for your uncomplicated way to introduce clouds … I’ll gonna restart my painting and drawing after a long story of being too occupied. As I’m fascinated by light, water and the details of nature, your clouds are a wonderful introduction for me. Looking forward to get inspired by you! 13:45
Cool animated intro! Thank you so much for these! I'm using Krita, but I was still able to follow a number of your tutorials. I was finally able to create something good, and I really appreciate your effort!
Your brick video showed up in my recommended and I had to subscribe! I'm going to plan a day to go through all of your texture videos as its something that I've struggled with for years. Clouds and rocks have been two things that I've watched so many videos on but can't seem to grasp, but you explain everything so clearly that I believe I can do it this time!
I don’t know if you’ll see this or not but I am in love with everything! Your voice, your personality, your teaching, etc etc. thank you for this video :) I will for sure be a fan once I watch more videos!
Great tutorial! I use both procreate & photoshop on my Wacom and man I cannot state just how much better the procreate brushes feel 😫, the smudge tool on photoshop is borderline unusable for me personally but on procreate it’s so responsive & expressive!
So excited!!!! I liked this video as soon as I clicked on it because I know (like every other video of your's) it is going to be EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm drawing a Cumulus because a. I don't know how to draw the other types and b. because the only other fluffy cloud was way too big. Thanks for all your AMAZING creative content. Joy to you from India and I hope you keep creating epic content like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just finnished the tutorial and drew a cummulus cloud, i guess tomorrow i‘ll try to draw foggy clouds at night to go with the promt for the next day! Will you also be sharing your work from in between the sphere days? I‘m interested in what you are making as well :) keep up your great tutorials, i‘m learning so much from them!
So glad you are enjoying the tutorials! 🤍 Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do the days between the spheres yet 😔 Since this year I'm also posting "regular" illustration tutorials during the challenge, those are what I'm focusing on between basic textures.
@@GenevievesDesignStudio thank you for your answer, that totally makes sense, i did'nt thougt about that... But i guess more videos in between are also great :) have a nice day!

Cumulus Clouds! One of my favorite fluffy like clouds😍 6:09 I'm always learning new technique from a pro like you! Thank you so much Gen! You're amazing! 😍🥰😘
Ugh, I’ve attempted this like 10 times. No matter what I do, I don’t like it. I’m giving up on it for now. I will go on to the next one. It really would be helpful if you would include the size and opacity of the brush you are using each time you change them.
You got this, Angelina! I personally don't believe in specifying the exact size of the brush as it is really something you gain a lot from learning to gauge yourself 😊 It is also going to vary a lot from scenario to scenario (ie: size of the canvas or size of the cloud) and, as you can see, I kind of eyeball the size myself based on the requirements of the scene.
I just wanted to remind all the digital artists to make sure they save their work. Save every few minutes. So you won't lose you progress if the program or deceive crashes. ^^

Is that picture in picture a feature in Procreate? Or PiP from the iPad?
What brush did you use on the first one. Im using Hard Brush

How did you get the reference photo to pop out like that?
I have just drawn the most beautiful clouds I have ever drawn thanks to this video ☁️🤍
Cumulonimbus!
Which kind of cloud? As I love all kinds of clouds, I might be drawing bear and other animal shapes! I love cumulus nimbus, BTW. 🌦
Haha! Bear clouds are the best 🤍🐻❄️☁️
