The reason I sold my van was because I wanted to turn the page on a new chapter of my life. There’s no reason to be stalking other people’s campsites. I would have left after day one.
Yea, packing up and leaving was not the plan. We've been stalked before, packed up left found a new spot only to find out we were followed.

That is totally bizarre behavior. I probably would have left asap if my dog didn't bark him away. I damned sure would have been wearing my Glock right on my belt in full view. I don't want to smell someone's cigarettes, cigars, or joints. I'm out in nature for clean fresh air. I sure as hell don't want someone nearby who wears a.thong. No one wants to see that at camp. You were more patient than I would have been. But yes, I'd let my dog keep barking until he left!
I'm over leaving. We've left so many spots only to be followed. As I said in the video mr thong followed us in. If this happens again I will be sure my
"bulge" is in full view.

I wish this was isolated but we've been in multiple situations which were way worse but decided not to make videos because they may be watching. When we first started this I wondered why so many full timers were so rude or stand-offish. Now I know.

Every single spot we've had an issue. We see these women out here and I tip my hat to them. I believe the problem is our kindness is being taken as weakness.

Your question belies the real issue you described. I consider his behavior to be actively aggressive towards you.
Two choices: best choice- LEAVE, move on no matter how much I really want to be there; 2nd best, call police and be sure to have video for them. I wouldn’t tolerate any of this. Not one thing he did before he left was acceptable.
I don’t mind someone where he was if they turn away from me and keep away from me. If not, I make a production of leaving. Unless I can not leave, I won’t let the sun go down and remain in the vicinity of a threatening person. I don’t knowingly put myself in a position to need to use my weapon.
Especially because he approached you and kept angling towards you. Very dangerous.
This is why it is so important to bring a harpoon or cross bow with you at all times. Whenever someone in a bikini short with a marlboro bag comes a callin' carrying a golf club, it is imperative that one presents a show of force that is as crazy and obscure to shock and awe the intruder. Just saying! Also, donning an alien mask or ronald mcdonald wig also helps.

(zero experience here) If it weren't for all his various "costumes", I might have thought he was trying to get the whole place to himself by being unpleasant. Of course, he might have hoped to have chased you away or lured you into something else, so it was win win for him. Stay safe.

Also think that most normal people know that boundaries have to really be observed out in the boonies these days so his being more than willing to tromp all over them confirms your deep concerns. He lacks the ability to view himself from a third-party perspective. If he could, he might realize he's intruding on your personal space. Personally if it was me; I wouldn't mind if he were a mile away, but setting up camp right next to the only other people in the area-then positioning himself to stare at us-is frustrating. You should have asked him if he was expecting a show or if he could stay isolated and give yourselves at least a two-mile buffer. After all, people didn’t camp in isolated areas hoping to meet other people.

THAT IS WEIRD
I have had someone get really weird on me and it was someone that I meet in real life a few times and I was nothing but nice to the guy and try to help him grow his channel. Almost made me want to stop doing lifted van meets due to the disappointment but I had to remind myself it was one person out of dozens and friends gave me a pep talk to keep loving the lifted van hobby. If a person I thought was a friend got all weird on me I can imagine how strangers can be even more jacked up I experienced this treating this as a damn camping/adventure hobby of all reasons. The Honda Element crew now that's a nice crew. They roll up to 300+ deep and I asked the founder if he's ever had someone turn on him. Not once did any one turn on him.
When you are on your path you will find people and lose people. I lost pretty much everyone. But you can't let that stop you from doing you.

When I go to the store. I park at the furthest spot. There are no cars for miles. When I get done shopping. There are two cars parked on both side of my car. I cannot get in the car. The owners are not in the store. I have to have my car towed out of the spot to get in it.

The distance wasn't the problem, imo. It was the weird, stalkery behavior. Someone else in the same spot, with their camp oriented away from yours and not acting like a weirdo would probably have been fine.
my wide angle lens make things look further away than they really are. If I was in a place where there were designated areas and it was the same distance thats fine. But out here there is so much space. but the stalker was unacceptable

The main reason I'd pick a middle of nowhere boondocking spot over a state park is to avoid close camping neighbors. And this guy sounds like a total creeper. I would have felt super uncomfortable and probably have left after that first day.

It appears the "camper" may be socially awkward, lacking common sense or mentally/intellectually disadvantaged. Given that, one unfortunately must potentially set up parameters if he is in close eye sight given the expansive space. I would have relocated and if he followed, approached in a pragmatic manner and perhaps contact area Law Enforcement and have them make contact. Excellent video and thanks.
