I remember stuck, glued, to surgie 9.. my brother was in the Lani Kai which it was pointed straight at.. he stayed on the second story until about 3pm then retreated to the top floor after the rental building that was on in the parking lot was carried towards the bay. he said he walked out to an eerie, bright red sunset around 730 and it looked like a nuke went off. we told him to get off of the island, but he insisted that they closed the bridge in the morning to all traffic.
Why aren't you guys deploying live cams for Hurricane Idalia like you did for Ian? I LOVED watching the surge cams while I worked last year. Was it due to the nighttime landfall? It'd still be cool to see the moment's leading up to and then at first light to see the aftermath.
