Loved this video! I think I’ve tasted most of these dishes 💃🏻 Side note: Iraq is actually pronounced Eeraq rather than Aairaq. It’s a common mispronunciation in North America. Cheers 🙏🏻
VERY NICE MY FRIEND I LOVE IRAQ ITS PEOPLE ITS FOOD GOD BLESS IRAQ ABUTURAB SHAH FROM AMERICA WHEM I WILL VISIT I WILL TASTE ALL THESE TEN DISHES VERY NICE KEEP IT UP
Iraqi tea is special, it's different. Dolma is done in various ways in every province, so if you want to try every single variant it's gonna need some weeks. Also, you can add Kuba in tashreeb, and the Kuba if Mosul is the best (at least that is what most iraqis agree on) Amazing video btw, keep the good work up
This video made me miss my mom's cooking, tebsi is one of my favourite foods. Also (and I don't mean this in a rude way) the way you pronounced all the dish names made me laugh 😂
It's really incredible, neat, cool and nice you actually made a very thought out entertaining video with actual great sounding foods and cuisine among a great country like Iraq which I also love in alphabetical order. 😊
Quzi= the word translates to whole lamb in Turkish, however the key difference to Biryani is not just that, but the rice itself, in Quzi you rely on the lamb gravy/juices to flavor the rice. Biryani = relies on authentic Indian spices to flavor the rice, and mainly done with chicken. the difference between Indian and Iraqi Biryani, is the addition of fried potatoes, peas, boild eggs and mixed nuts in the Iraqi biryani (the latter is also added to Quzi to give it that crunchy element).
Here in the *French part of Canada* , the majority of Middle Eastern restaurants are either *North African* (especially Moroccan with some Algerian) *and Lebanese.* And while I have yet to see a full-fledged Iraqi place, *Iranian ("Persian") restaurants* are often *run by Iraqis.* And since there also aren't much dedicated Armenian places, *Armenian food* tends to be *served at Iranian, Turkish, and Russian restaurants.*
That sounds horrible, poor Persian food getting disrespected like that if it's cooked by Middle Eastern Iraqis. It probably isn't even Persian/Iranian food they're serving.
I spent several years there…loved the people and the food. Served with the Iraqi army, as a Americi don’t hate me was my job. Would love to go back to Baghdad some day.
The samoon goes quite well with Iraqi falafels. In iraq falafel sandwiches consists of the famous samoon bread filled with crispy falafel, vegetables and many variety of sauces/dressings to choose from, such as Ambar (mango sauce). Sadly it is quite hard to find restaurants, who provides such delicacies in Western countries.
My mom and all of her side are immigrants from Iraq they make food from there all the time and I know half of these foods and the only one I really like is Kuba
@@RockstarEater tell us more about the spices, etc. There were a lot of filler words (tasty, unique, tastes amazing) that didn't actually describe the food. Thx for the info though.
As an Iraqi I recommend all of these foods. They are amazing, especially the dolma, it’s basically sushi but instead of seaweed it’s grape leaves or onions.
brother in fact Byriani is originaly from Mesopotamia = Iraq/syria is an old plate. byriani brother is an basic plate nothing special to reserve it for wedding or special even. is not hard to make too you mix more or less everything you prepare separatly. and yes the iraqi and syrian version is very good compare to others i tried. the first kuba picture you linked is not iraqi one but syrian/libanes. for cooking masgouf is like 45min or 1h30 no more ;) Nan is indian word not iraqi word or even arabic word. flat bread it call it koubaz who go in tashrib and many other things, and the bred who look like sandiwch it call it samoune (like on end of your video) :) we have no Nan brother and not the same taste even i like pakisatani nane who is good lol. at 6:58 you mix many different plates who are not tashrib but 1st picture is sauce of beans to eat with white rice like the bamia, the 2nd at 7:05 is kube halab, is a kube meat in sauce. Tapsi is a sauce of eggplant. betinajane = mean eggplant in iraqi. is like bamia or beans sauce is yes to eat with white rice too. thank you for the video you did well :) hi from an iraqi
