Sure, you can find a silver lining, but this is The Ohio State University -a program with resources that 98% of coaches could only dream of in THIER WETTEST OF DREAMS!! Despite this, there’s a clear lack of edge, intensity, and physicality, as well as attention to detail in execution. Watching Indiana under Curt Cignetti, with fewer resources and lower-ranked athletes, the difference is night and day in terms of intensity and execution. @JBK415 💯! I want them to fire Ryan Day and bring in Mike Vrabel. We need an OSU guy who understands what the standard is and what the culture is supposed to be.
Seems to me that when urban was the head coach, we were always attacking the other team , on both sides of the ball, and our intensity level seemed to be always a lot higher
The coaches don't have a clue. The number one issue is player development, next play calling, and lastly execution. Lethargy is creeping through the team, and the coaches have no answer.
Unrealistic expectations. The guys that lost to Michigan 3 times came back. They do not become different people. They are the guys that lost to Michigan 3 times.
Clearly Day has just never fully realized that football is won on the line of scrimmage. I thought this team had the parts to compete with the best. I have to admit that at times they look like that and other times they look terrible. My 'perception' of this team has changed. If the loss of Simmons ruins the entire line, then something is really wrong. I can't say I've given up, but my confidence in this team is shaken, and to be honest it falls on the coaches. I'm always asking 'is Day a great coach, or a guy at the right place at the right time'? He didn't earn his way to a top head coach job like most. When we see a game like yesterday, I don't point fingers at the players, I look at the guys calling the plays, making the decisions. So, let's take it one at a time and see what happens.
Day was always a bait and switch. They wanted Urban out, but with as little drama as possible. Urban played along so he could leave without disgrace, played up his headaches, said he'd never be able to coach again, but hey, there's this elite guy that happens to be here... After leaving his headaches disappeared and he went to the NFL... and ended up leaving in disgrace. Day was absolutely in the right place at the right time.
IU is going to beat you. I was on the fence, as an IU grad who lives near Columbus, but now I’m convinced. Ryan Day runs OSU like a business instead of a football team. Cignetti has a much better disciplined and coached team.

If you look deeper into the coaching staff, I think you will find several young, highly paid staff that couldn’t get a job at any other big program. Most of these guys don’t have the experience or confidence to stand up to Day, Kelly, or Knowles. Day has always been this way.
