It was nice, they covered the most irritating stereotypes about us and that uncle explained really well.
Though , i believe all those comparison vloggers about india , should notify the difference in indian cultures. Almost every country they compare to has one major language , a major dominating religion and and an integrated society with a same culture everywhere. India has a dozen of everything. Yet we put all in one name and the whole country is stereotyped by something of someplace in the country.
Bollywood or whole Indian cinema is the biggest reason of this problem.

First of all , what is a curry anyway ? And second , there are thousands of dishes that can be referred as curry of some kind. So in Japan do you guys refer to some specific dish as curry ? If so , I would like to known what that is .

The Word Curry Came From a Colonial Misunderstanding
No Indian language uses the term, and the closest-sounding words usually just mean “sauce.” Curry is, supposedly, Indian. But there is no such word in any of the country's many official languages.
I don't want to blame any one but, it's bit offensive for me.

    • @srajanverma9064
      @srajanverma9064 3 года назад +3

Exactly ! Exactly ! Its offensive! Curry is a colonial misunderstanding.. we rather use the word "geeli sabji" which means " vegetable in liquid soup".. which is nowhere close what japanese think of as curry!

"Kari" or curry in Tamil means meat. Usually more spices are added in meat dishes than in veggies. May be that is colonial misunderstanding .

Dear japanese people, Naan is not originally an indian bread. It is actually the indianized version of the Uzbek Non bread which was brought to india by the Mughal emperor Babur from Uzbekistan.

    • @mtarkes

Naan is actually from India only, while the technique may have been brought by Mughals, the "Uzbeki Non" is very primitive and neither tastes nor looks anything like Naan. Also, the word Naan is from Persia. If we go further back in history the story of Naan starts from Egypt and Mesopotamia where leavening was invented.

A lot of thanks for bringing up this topic. I know there are a huge number of stereotypes related to Indians and most of them are wrong. I guess it's our fault to project ourselves to the world in a wrong way but if you get to know more about India, I am sure you would see how we are misunderstood and eventually can love our country.

Guys there is no dish named curry but there is a dish name cudhi which
    Which might have heard .
It is made made of beshan, dahi, very less amount of dal ,also it is named as cudhi because most important ingredients which is added in this dish is "Cudhi patta" i.e. bay leaves which makes it tast amazing even after being soo simple .
Its texture is made just like a liquid and it is a traditional food.
I don't know why someone just for their ease of doing business created such stereotype which later spread all over the world.
Just like calling yog as yoga
