Wow! Beautiful! I remembered once seeing a video of paper bag floors and then thought I could try it on my countertop. So glad I found your video. Great tutorial!
I wish that you could receive more likes than what you have. This tutorial is great and I am going to test it on a board before using in my kitchen. Thank you so much for sharing.
I have done a few tables with this process. It is inexpensive, fun, and a strikingly gorgeous. I am about to do countertops as well.....but gonna use a grey slate colored stain. Your's looks great, would love a better look at your tops.
Yesterday I did my countertops and this morning it's absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you for the step by step tutorial 💜. I found a couple of areas where the edges didn't lay completely down and it's kinda bubbled up. How to I repair that so I can put the polyurethane on it?
Really cool BUT maybe it would have been better with matte lacquer? Just because of the brown color... It's hard to tell in a video though... I love the concept!
Wow just found your video...I was thinking someone on you tube must have done this and wala I found yours!!! Wondering about the smell? I have done lamp shades just like this and they came out like leather! Your countertops are gorgeous . Kuddos . 🎉🎉🎉
Another couple of questions I had were...how many costs of poly urethane? And how long does this need to set up before you can use your countertops? Say curing time....Thanks!!
How did you manage around the sink? Did you tape it? I guessif you have a drop sink it doesn't matter but I have an old kitchen. So if you have any ideas LMK! Thanks so much!
I was thinking about using black construction paper and a. Blue/green paint. What do you think? I was planning on decopodging my counter. But went with black marble contact paper because I thought it’d be easier. (Ugh contact paper is not easy) lol Now my dog scratched it up. Ugh
You do what you like. I would experiment with different colored paper. I know next time I am going to do a plain white paper with black paint and glue.
You can soak the paper in white paint diluted water...Or after crimped lightly smooth out and take a brush or sponge with white paint and rub across the high creases when dries will give you white and the kraft paper colors rewet this and apply to counter. Use a white stain on top Gorgeous!

Can you post a pic of the one you did with gray slate poly
@@joyrussell1167 I would love to see a pic of your slate gray and other projects!
Nice work and great explanation! Geeked to try this myself!
Beautiful and thanks for the easy step-by-step process :)
Nice! Thumbs up from Toledo.
Seeing this I may want to cut my bags in circles start in the middle of room working round Fibonacci style.
So awesome!! How many coats of polyurethane did you use?
3 or so I think

Squirt some glue under it. That happened to me too.
Love it.

Wow, I love it! Amazing job! I was wondering how they are holding up to the wear and tear of daily use?
They look great. Clean right up with no problems.
Another couple of questions I had were...how many costs of poly urethane? And how long does this need to set up before you can use your countertops? Say curing time....Thanks!!
It's been a while so I don't remember I know there were several. If I were to do it again I would just get food grade heat resistant resin.

How has it held up?
can you use different colors for a more marble affect such as greys whites and black?
Always worth trying. Try a practice space. I'd love to see it
Could you use any color paint for the veining ?
It would be fun to find out

How many linear feet of counter tops do you have?
Love this!!! Do you put the glitter on when almost dry before poly?
Yes, then several coats of poly
Wonder how this would look on a wall 🤔
Just did my bedroom floor I want to do my countertop would that be too much doing the counter top and the kitchen floor???

@@lovinghomescents Awww Thank you I just didn't want it too dark because I'm staining my cabinets espresso

Use a white stain on top Gorgeous!
How did you do the sides of the countertops?
Folded it under
@@lovinghomescents how did you get the resin to stay on the sides and not run off before it dried
wouldn't it be easier to lay the paper on the counter and brush the glue on it?
no...you hafta have the paper completely dunked in the glue...you want to be sure it adheres entirely
Wadding the paper in the glue gives it the veining look.
What were your counter tops made of ? was it bare wood ?
Formica
Did you have to sand the countertops before?
No. I didn't. But I suppose you can.
Does the oil based Poly smell bad? How long does it take to dry?
Yes, some odor. About a week to cure.
How many coats of polyurethane did you do on the counter top?
Lots. Probably 5 thick coats. Still looks great and cleans easy.
Did you have any problems with cup rings or anything?
Not at all
What brand of paint brush did you use?
Any kind is good
do you need to treat counter tops with anything before procedure?
I didn't but you could.
What count of count Lee too did you have
How many coats of poly did you use?
I did 5 or so. But I just poured it on and spread it around.
how long did it take you to do this
About a week total
How food safe is the polyurethane?
They make food safe poly. Used in restaurants often.
That’s great!! Was thinking about doing this for my parents house. I think it could be awesome.
Did you remove your kitchen sink ?
No. But it would be easy to do. I trimmed it with a razor knife.
Why are you using black paint
To add the veining into the paper
You should have gotten food safe finish so no one would get sick.
Looks like shit! Why would anyone want that?
Actually everyone compliments them. Looks better in person. Looks like marble effects. To each their own.
Effyou128 Why would anyone make such a rude comment? That says a lot about you.
