You really should have called yourself Jessica or Jennifer. Nancy is such an old-fashioned name that is was the only unbelievable thing in your sketch for me.
You really did well, I live near a large Midwestern American city, and you sound like a well-educated person from this region. We don't sound rural, just that kind of generic standard American accent and honestly in the upscale suburbs your voice would fit in with the rest of the girls. A Southern accent is tricky, even for midwesterners, it comes across as making fun of them. But a Midwestern generic accent, with well pronounced sounds like someone who could be considered generally American anywhere, including in the south, they may just think you are a Yankee instead of a Brit. Great job, you may have to stay in character more of the day, and maybe consider a name that in America would be more typical for someone of your age, like Britney or Madison or Alexis. And maybe a question to encourage people to stop and help a tourist, like a good local place for tea? Hopefully Brits would be more loose lipped about that? Anyway I think your accent is great and you would fool many American people.
Apparently it’s a fad in London to hate Americans and think they’re dumb so I’m not surprised by this one. I get the new generation is pretty oblivious, but I’m one of them and I wouldn’t consider myself that. Also I’d say the new generation everywhere is that way, it’s not an American thing. Not sure why people are so against America, honestly, they’re probably just jealous.
@@Benjamin-1776 Well, if the dumb, loud, and obnoxious ones are the ones active in social media, and that's one of the most accessible platforms to see international content, then it's sadly gonna be the case that most people would just assume that that's how many Americans act. Most of us, "normal", Americans don't post much on social media, do TikTok, make RUclips videos, etc, so these very people wouldn't have much of a clue as to how ordinary Americans are. Cause that's a pretty normal human reaction everywhere. You ask an ordinary American what an ordinary Afghan or Iraqi person is like and it's safe to assume they'd think about what they've seen in the media, perhaps a negative view. I guess that's how _stereotypes_ are formed. Just a lack of knowledge about a group of people. I don't think it's a generational thing cause I'm pretty sure even people in the past have negative stereotypes of different people that they lack any knowledge of. Are people from the Boomer generation just versed with Anthropology, Sociology and Cultural studies that they have zero negative stereotypes of other cultures and ethnicities? And same goes to generations before that? It's such an easy scape goat to place the young generation in where I think most of us forget that it's not a new concept lol
This was really cute. Nice to see something such as this, just pure fun trying to talk to others. Really refreshing :) I'm American from Kentucky in the south. You know in the USA there are many different accents, we all know usually where someone is from depending on the accent. Maybe not the exact state, but the area. Such as Boston , New York, the deep south. NOT everyone living in the south has a thick accent, but some DO . Kentucky has some thick southern accents, and then some mid west accents. I remember going to Tennessee once, the state south of Kentucky. I had to get gas, I went in and talked to the man , the cashier. I could NOT understand him. I had to ask 3 times what he was saying , and we are both Americans hahaha accents are funny :) but I like this video, very clean and cute. and I learned some British slang :)
This had me smiling the whole time. Lia, you are so funny and brave!! I would have definitely been too embarrassed to do that. Next time you should add in some american-isms like "Have you seen my fanny pack?" and just see people's reactions.

You really should have called yourself Jessica or Jennifer. Nancy is such an old-fashioned name that is was the only unbelievable thing in your sketch for me.
I’m dying...Lia is hilarious....and brave!! 😂😂😂
brave indeed 😂
@@liahatz yes
👍🏻
Hy
Where are you live
Lia! This was bloody hilarious! I love your sense of humour! Can't wait for more videos! And I hope this is a recurring series, epic pranking Legend.
Dude, the questions you’re asking are making Americans seem crazy.

@Delta Dude Americans are literally europeans
Absolutely brilliant, this is hilarious. The accents were really good!
I’ve always wanted to hear you speak with an American accent!!! Just say college instead of university 😜
You have way more guys than I do!
5:44 "how do you say, Coh, Co, Co C...??" that's hysterical
So fun! That took courage!!! Great way to practice accents!!!
You are killing it with that accent, I dont think I could keep up for that long lol. Loved when you said "Brits are so adorable" 😂
You are right
Hi
This had me smiling the whole time. Lia, you are so funny and brave!! I would have definitely been too embarrassed to do that. Next time you should add in some american-isms like "Have you seen my fanny pack?" and just see people's reactions.
people dont really use fanny packs
Nancy "Y'all ain't got tacos here?" LMAO!
I know right. Y'all = you all and ain't = are not!😀
Yummy 🤤 😋 tacos 🌮.... 😊
I lovedddd thisss ❤️ Honestly as an American, I was legit sold 👏🏾👏🏾 That was sooooo fun to watch 😂 but I agree on getting a legit background story and planning a few questions and you’ll be golden 👏🏾👏🏾😂 can’t wait for the next Nancy episode 👏🏾❤️
This is hillarious. 'Nancy have American parents and she is lookomg for them'😂😂🤣😋😋
omgggg, when southern americans call you precious or say "bless your heard" they're calling you an idiot :( lmfaooo
Oh Lia, this is hysterical and slightly uncomfortable at the same time!!!
Excellent accent! Can’t tell the region you are trying to imitate, but REALLY good!
Laura Brown she sounds like she’s doing a midwest accent lol, I’m from the Chicago area and that’s how we sound
Gotta say, her accent is actually REALLY good but I still couldn't stop cringing throughout the whole vid. (^¿^)
yeah this video was cringy, Not the accent, she did good with it, its everything she was saying was just so cringeworthy. She couldn't think of something more natural to say.
“Where did you meet? A hostel” amazing jip!
They were laughing at you
This is the best thing I’ve seen all day! Literally rolling
Lol, that was good! I'm Nancy from N.Y. state, for real. Your too funny. One thing though instead of asking for the tube you should ask where the subway is. If you were from here you would probably say subway just out of habit especially if you were supposed to be just visiting London. 😎
abcxyz there were a couple of little things like that-referring to someone as going “to university” or to people who lived there as “Londoners.” Americans would never say that. But the accent was mostly pretty good!
@@ninaradio agreed 😊
I love how the title is "accent fail" but this is the best you've ever done with an American accent 😂😂 and it's funny because when you go back to your normal accent, THAT sounds fake 🤣🤣
“Mortifying” 😂 she’s so funny
Hysterical! I loved this so much! =)
You almost lost it for a minute lol So funny
"this guy is HOT" loool
you are the most good looking person I've seen today 😂😂😂
LOL that was great - I think your accent went Irish once or twice!
Some people have such a great voice & then you hear it in a different way or accent & they still have a great voice. You're one of those people lol did Joel do a video like this? I'd like to hear his American accent!
I like your comment👍🏻
You are so beautiful 💓
I like you
