This song was on repeat through many crying sessions when I was going through my first heart break. Man that was a hard time... I’ll never forget how that made me feel and how much this song resonated with me at the time.
Except it's about a relationship that never happens, which is regretted later.
My sisternlaw sung this song at her husband funeral. Sadly I was too sad. I couldn't go support her. I saw her video and I cried singing to this song. My husband passed away 2 years later. I sung this song to myself. Tonight I sing it again. It's been 10 years going 11 years. Our babies are not babies anymore. I'm so sad he isn't see them graduate and see them get married one day. This song brings me sadness and tears. 😢

It's almost as if this song is haunting me.
Ever since I lost my first relationship as a school boy in 2011, I've come back after every heartbreak: there was never a relationship, there was always one that failed shortly before. And I was always heartbroken. So often.
In 2019, I met a girl I'd never met before. Due to my previous attachment anxiety, we had a "relationship" for five years in which I never confessed my love for her, even though I had really loved her for years. Now this month she has not wanted to continue and "broke up" a relationship that never existed in first place. And here I am again. Again with heartache. Even though I gave her physical closeness (hugs, kisses and sex) and a lot of things that are normal in a relationship (travelling, visiting each other often, giving her compliments and a warm feeling), she probably still felt pain so often, which I have now because I'm a complete idiot.
I'll be 27 in a week and may have just lost the woman for my life. I don't know, but I believe more and more that I simply won't find happiness in love again. Cruel.

This song resonates with me so much because some people who I thought were genuinely nice/repentant men(not lovers), and then I learned it was all a lie.
This was the soundtrack to something and I clearly remember it as being big - maybe something from Brazil? Like a soap opera or something? Can anyone tell me why I know this and why I think it’s from something I clearly watched? Could be international too. I know the song is popular outside of soundtracks as well and that’s where I know it from but I also recall it being big here for some other reason???
