I feel way too nerdy here. Half these people are here to pass English, or Philosophical Education. I'm here to find out what other people thought of the book.
Same. I just read it and i have really mixed feelings about the book and im here to assure myself I haven’t missed anything that could explain my feelings
Just in case, remember to keep your chin tucked and your hands up to guard your face. Create space with a stiff jab and watch the shoulders for defense. Good luck.
bro my teacher said like our exam is going to have some part of which is related to Dorian grays book and i did not understand at first but when I watched this i understand way more than before dude thanks for making this
I'm not going to lie...I searched this after watching 500 days of summer. I thought it would be some sort of deeper meaning to the plot. It probably is, but just Sonic booming over my head.
Really wish you had made the animation blonde like he is supposed to be. Wilde made is overtly clear that he was a blue-eyed blonde. For a book that centers around Dorian's looks, I would have expected a more accurate portrayal. "Yes, he was certainly wonderfully handsome, with his finely curved scarlet lips, his frank blue eyes, his crisp gold hair." "The scarlet would pass away from his lips and the gold steal from his hair." "Dorian Gray lifted his golden head from the pillow" "Suddenly she caught a glimpse of golden hair and laughing lips, and in an open carriage with two ladies Dorian Gray drove past." "Was it to become a monstrous and loathsome thing, to be hidden away in a locked room, to be shut out from the sunlight that had so often touched to brighter gold the waving wonder of its hair?" "Gold hair, blue eyes, and rose-red lips - they all were there."
he doesn't love her becaue of her acting talent, but because she is great and he feels great by association. she loses her lustre as soon Dorian's buddy dissaproves of her; shes not great anymore and DOrian, typical narcissist, doesn't want his great him be associated with her lesser her. how often guys dump their girlfriends because their male buddy didnt approve...
I couldn’t finish this book as Dorian is such a loathsome creature who deserves neither respect nor love. You cannot blame anyone for his fall. It would be like reading a book about Hitler. He proceeds to bring others down with him. The book may be wonderful bit Dorian is too loathsome to read about.
Woah your voice took me by surprise
Same
I was lyk"wait wat happened??"😱🤯

Great book 8/10 for me
Same buddy. Just finished my eng lit exam and I can’t wait to understand more about some stuff I actually like
You’re not alone lol
This is a great summary and video but I kinda wanna fight whoever decided to not make Dorian blond. I won’t, but I’m disappointed nonetheless.
I like him better as dark instead of some blondie lol
I also expected Dorian to be blonde and not because I think blonde is better but because that is how he is described in the book.
@@notthatguy4703 It’s about the symbolism 😔
omg that's what i was thinking dorian was blond af

I'm not here for any exam or anything, this is genuinely an interesting story
I am here for an exam lol
I read the book and I honestly have more appreciation for it after this.
I started the book and got so bored I decided to watch a summary... BUT THE PLOT IS ACTUALLY REALLY INTERESTING IM SHOOK WTF
SAMEE
Try 1984
I loved it, but the part about the book he read, just talking about hedonism and historically rich people I lost some interest.
I have book club tonight and this was the book. It was harder to read than it is to listen too
Thank you for the engaging teacher Course Hero.

I'm addicted to this guy

Didn’t summer also live an indulgent lifestyle? Not as indulgent as Dorian by any means.
Well...here we are again
Seriously though, thanks a lot for this
Imagine a cartoon rabbit with glasses who is an extremely smart professor, a very animated character-
this is what his voice sounds like
You just saved my life
Thank you I understand it better now.

matric 2020 anyone?
I just finished the book and James Vane was not a character. Did I happen to read another version of the book?
They refer to him as “Jim” for a good portion of the book, because Jim is a nickname for James
I'm quite sure you guys portrayed Dorian based on Ben Barnes in the movie haha
because Dorian in the book is blond
How is named the melody in the background?
Why is basil bald and dorian not blonde
Who's here on the day of their final p2 english
Me😂😂a year later from this comment though
Is this summary enough to ace a literature test ?
No
lol oh well , it's something 😅
definitely not, probably want to read the book

This is certainly not the spirit to explain literature.... maybe a football match recap, yes.
1:01 amo gus reference????????
tryna pass english 🙏🙏
Same, writing in a few hours
dorian is blonde right
❤❤❤
Whoa, whoa, man your voice is dumping and thumping someone
Shakes you aggressively because Dorian's described as blondddddd ;-;
The voice 😂
So much emphasis
Isyaaa bru
dat la voz de nenito
What is this accent?
Was dorian grey a real man???
He was based off John gray one of Oscar Wildes lovers
Good book other than the gay undertones in the beginning and during Basil’s dialogue that are super uncomfortable to read
Good comment other than the homophobia and ignorance. We’d have had more great work from Oscar Wilde if he hadn’t DIED from homophobia. (Google it.)
Thats a horrible voice
Why would anyone need to pass comment upon someone’s voice ? 🤷♂️

Great book terrible video
This guy’s voice made me turn off the video immediately
