Man, picking up the bottle just to give to that kid. I don't care if Tadej wins another race in the rest of his life. He's just a good dude.
That’s was pretty cool 👊🦋
Yup. He's just overtaken Lance in greatness my eyes. Lance a snake but a great. Pod. A great. A true Goat. And an honest human
He is great role model for all professional athletes. It also speaks to his dominance that he is thinking about his fans with 21 km to go on a steep climb in the Giro. I think of Rodger Federer and Tadej as similar in temperament-- supremely confident, yet gracious and humble.
@@zzhughesdfor now…unless the same thing happens like it did for Lance. It’s true, Lance might not have been a nice guy like Pog but he was an incredible grand tour rider.
@@TheWorldisaLIE2 Lance is American, Pog is european.
"majka is pocagar's first lieutenant colonel" . Best phrase ever said by chris!!!!! Majka is a beast!!
👊🦋
Jan Polanc is his first lieutenant colonel since 2020 when Pogi won that Tour de France. But he is already retired but DS now also with UAE Team Emirates.
Tadej seems like a decent sort of guy to ride for. Appears to be publicly appreciative of his teammates efforts.
Agreed 👊🦋
I love how he gave a kid a “ high five “ as he was climbing up the mountain
I lost count how many times you, Mr. Horner says "I cant do it" everytime G looks back.. They way you say it is hilarious too. 🤣
😂🦋👊
It's because he (CH) knows the feeling.
Pogi’s becoming a legend in his spare time.
😂🦋👊
Yep
Thank you Chris and Garrett for all your time and work on the show
Thanks John 👊🦋
Yeah thanks!
I dont think anyone else has mentioned it but I loved the little jimmy johnson #48 car that zoomed across the screen
Chris Horner: I'm pretty sure I speak for more people than me when asking if you can do a video describing what it's like to climb a grand tour mountain stage. I will never cease to be amazed by the spectacle watching riders part the sea of thousands of crazed spectators who are yelling in your ear all the way up the mountain. Watching the moto camera from behind a lone rider climbing a mountain is probably my favourite sports image. It is a beautiful sight. Quite a difference from the recon of the lonely mountain you may have done three months previous.
I'm with ya, @matttilley8620. I'd love to see a "Storytime with Chris Horner" about that.
Maybe the closest thing you can experience as an age grouper would be Solarerberg at challenge Roth. It gives you goosebumps and an extra 20-30 watts just from the adrenaline.
I loved it. Nothing quite like it. 🦋👊
I’ve seen Levi climb out in front of me on a trail bike ride. (But not for long! He’s gone.) That alone was a highlight of my cycling “career”, lol.
Pog is pure class, seems like a genuinely nice kid. Cannot wait to see him race against Jonas, Rog and Remco. Makes me crack up every time Chris says “I can’t do it!”, the Butterfly Effect is the best
Great job, Chris~especially with catching the Pogi details that the Eurosport highlights missed (ie.his anger at being pushed, then giving the bidon to the kid) Hope that frog jumps out in time for tomorrow's report!🐸✊️🦋
Me too 🍀🤞🦋👊
Majka has really done an excellent job this tour of Italy, reliable as always. It's almost fascinating that he doesn't make the tour-squad, says a lot about the group of riders UAE will send to France.
Some gritty performances from the Aussies, and great to see your Robbie McEwan signed green jersey hanging up the Chris 🇦🇺👍👊🇮🇹
Not only was Pogacar dominant in this Giro, so was the UAE "B" team he brought with him. Chris understandably gave them knucklehead awards for bringing a sprinter, Juan Molano, and a guy going for top 10 finishes in the time trials, Mikkel Bjerg, plus assorted other strange tactics. But to me this shows this Giro was just well-paid training for Tadej AND Team UAE. We'll soon find out if that was a smart move for them.
Seems like everyone brought their 'B' team to the Giro, except UAE also had the only healthy A-class GC rider.
Pogi was on another level no doubt. 🔥🦋💪👊
Yepp. Kudos also for Martinez who tried his best + young Tiberi. Geraint once again on the podium without leading 100m in the whole race and far away from any stage win. But still he deserves a kudos for being the oldest rider ever on the Giro podium.
20th place for Pozzovivo in his last season at 41 years old. Had there not been Pogačar Pellizzari would've won at least one stage this Giro as well. Nice to see!
man I truly hope this Pogi situation is "organic" this is monumental in the sport and what a time to witness peak Pogacar!! still have Jonas lingering as his uno card....compelling storyline...Cycling is in a good place right now...i hope
Really good place with so many riders on the same level and all look to be heading to the TdF. 🤞🦋🔥💪
On another site covering the Giro, there were a lot of " Pogacar winning and being clean is a joke, the cycling federation let's him get away with it", "All the top riders are doping, everyone knows it" comments. When I challenged them to share the evidence and undeniable proof they have it was ...
What about the stories that this UEA Team is not good enough to support Tadej in his quest for his first Giro!? When we saw last time such a masterful and superior support for team's leading rider as this time!? Bravo Tadej and bravo, bravo TEAM EMIRATES!!! Rafael Majka is true hero!!! 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏✌️✌️✌️🍾🍾🍾
In all fairness he didn't need em for this giro. He was on cruise control the whole tour lol
A testament to how weak the overall field was for the Giro, given that so many top riders were out with injuries.
Wait. You are saying that you think this is UAE’s A team here? Nah. It’s the B team. A teams go to the TdF every year. 🤔🦋👍
@@T_Mo271 Last year GT lost to Roglič by 16 sec. and this year he lost to Tadej by over 10 min. Right?
@@ChrisHornerCycling And even that was plenty enough for TP to win easily.
Chris Horner, is The High Priest of bike racing commentary!
sure recap is easy than live
👊🦋🙏
Thank you Chris and Garett! You the best cycling Chanel!
👊🦋
Utter dominance by Pogacar. Looking forward to TDF!
It'll be interesting to see him in an event with other top riders. The Giro didn't have any.
👊🦋
Yes. Pogacar, Roglic, Remco, Jonas - not forgeting Egan Bernal too - He is back from injury.
Should be a great contest.
Superb insights throughout this Giro. Loved it all ! Thanks
👊🦋
If Tadej wins the Tour there will be a real temptation for him to go for the Vuelta as well
True
Perfect timing!
I just wish Pog had been 4 seconds faster.
Makes it up with a bonus 3rd place tomorrow. 🛋️🦋
10mins even 😂🦋👊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
If he had only won Stage 1 instead of getting second he would have worn the maglia rosa from the beginning to the end and won by 10 minutes 💖
The 10 minutes even would have happened if Martinez hadn't sprinted for third place..
Amazing coverage of this Classic Race; thanks Chris!
I was there at Monte Grappa yesterday at 14 km, I saw pogacar destroying all other riders. He is really impressive. It was pack full of fans, thousands for sure! An experience that every cycling fan must have!
I guess the question of UAE understaffing this race has been answered. Pogi managed to scrape by 😛💪
😂🦋💪👊
He did, yet with sickness or crashes for UAE this Giro could've looked way different. Bora losing Lipowitz was a major blow to their capabilities. UAE finishing with all their riders in one piece is quite extraordinary. 10-20% on average in grand tours. (ChatGP stats) This Giro a lot more teams fully intact. Israel premier tech for example has 3 riders, VLAB 4.
@@Legionarivss yep. Just losing Rafał Majka alone I think would have been bad.
Great commentary Chris even with the dreaded lurgy. The locals certainly are an excitable lot. Looking good for a great TDF.
Bring on July. I need a couple days to pass this cold or allergy thing I got but then I’m back to 100% and ready. 😂🦋👊
Though we all expected this to happen three weeks ago when the Giro started, when Pog actually demonstrated his dominance it was incredible to watch.
On this stage, Pog beat the previous best time of Nairo Quintana during the ITT of the 2014 Giro by almost one whole minute. This was after he had already done 130 km, climbed Monte Grappa once before and was paced up the first half of the climb by his teammates, who could obviously only ride at their own comfort level. What he could have achieved under similar circumstances as Quintana, who started fresh and had to climb only once, is truly mind boggling.
There were a lot of knucklehead fans today. Stop touching and shoving riders and running alongside. I also hate those smoke bomb things. Can't imagine riders who are breathing heavily, just trying to get some oxygen into the lungs, having to breath that chemical smoke stuff.
I think the fans who are cyclists, are more considerate. It’s hilarious to me, how these crazies that run after the riders, don’t look like runners at all.
I loved all the fans and even the runners. I just like it better when there is actual space to run next to riders. Today the fans took it a bit too far. Yikes 😱🦋👍
Totally agreed, got nervous when they ran so close with the phone on the hands. Look like taking video to be posted on the social media later. What if someone lost their steps and fell on the riders? How to account for that?
G. Thomas looked like he was really struggling & on the absolute limit on that second trip up Monte Grappa🥵
He said later after the stage that even before the 1st passage that he was concerned with way he felt all day. 🤔🦋👍
Thank you Chris and Garrett for the hard work and detailed analysis; best in class 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
Utterly amazing,Pogi is.
👊🦋💪
This is the first video I have seen where the narrator points out the riders they are talking about in detail. Great!! Although I would like to see the actual video of the race instead of photos.
Been great coverage of this Giro. Domination by Pogacar. Looking forward to the lead-up to the TDF.
Danny Martinez did great placing 2nd on GC. Martinez basically got 2nd by riding the coatail of either Ineos or UAE train.
Great commentary. Can't wait to see the tour this year. The only mistake Pogi made was don't wear pink shorts on a wet and grimy stage.
Great show Chris as always!! Go Pogi!!!!
Thanks Chris - Nice Job. ! (that's all I got to say about that)
miss ya on the River Rides
watched the race today on Eurosport but the coverage was in Spanish - My high school Spanish doesn't cut it - - glad I can watch you later for the explanation I can understand. Keep up the good work - Tour of France is next.
🇪🇸🇫🇷🦋👊🙏
In recap - Pepa Pog just drop the mic!
🎤🦋👍
Thanks Chris and Garrett...are you OK? You sound a bit... congested ? Be well . Papillon !!
Tadej very impressive Giro tour win 💪🏼😎👍🏼 Waiting for CH to mention the UAE A team now pressured to deliver Pogi to his 3rd TDF win 😁😎
This has been like watching a top class international Junior rider taking apart a field of senior 4th cats in a restricted gear event. You know its going to happen as soon as the start sheet hits the door mat.:)
Pogadcar looks amazing but he would have looked amazing in thw last tour as well if vinegard hadn't been there. So hard for me to know if he is better than ever or he didn't have any rivals. Time will tell. Anxious to see the tour👏
UAE did a pretty good job for Pogacar this Giro.
They got the job done that’s for sure 👊🦋
just a reminder
in the last three TdF, the 3rd was at more than 7 min, the rest at more than 10 min.
Grand Tours right now are just a two men game. And there, they couldn't give it all carelessly because they had to control each other. When there is only one of those two (in top form) at the start, instead of the 3rd/4th, it is the 2nd to be left at 10 min
Without Pogacar, this Giro would have be so boring. We would end up watching staring contest between Thomas vs Martinez for 3 weeks. At least, it's fun to watch Pogacar demolishing his rivals. It's like watching a video game .. Mario Bros..or a bowling ball hitting the pin...then a thrilling chase to catch Pellizari (twice), you know like a handicap race 🤣🤣. He pretty much cherry picked which stage they wanted to win, the entire team executed the plan to the perfection. For B team, UAE certainly is the strongest team.
The only GC action (besides Pogacar) worth to watch was just one mountain stage where Martinez dropped Thomas. After that, not much going on between them. Week 3, the GC riders was pretty much riding together to the finish line. Even the final mountain stage failed to bring any spectacle from the rest of the GC. At least last year Giro ended up with a thrilling upset.
This year, the organizer failed to create a thrilling ending by putting a stupid long descent after 2x accent. 🤦♀🤦♀Do they expect a thrilling chase so the riders risking their lives? (i guess they already forgot about Gino).🙄 I'm glad there's no crazy downhill chasing happened. The gap to Pogacar was so big and the gap between Thomas group to Martinez group was so small, so there's nothing to worry about anyone leap frog anyone. It could have been a thrilling ending with Martinez and Tiberi dropped Thomas in the climb ... but it get snuffed out on the descent. Yeah...Anti Climactic.🙄🙄
Pogi makes every race worth watching. 💪🦋👊
greatest training camp of all time!
Chris, why do we almost always see small gaps come together on the descents. Motivations? Thanks for all your explanations and wisdom!!
It’s hard to get away on the descent if the gap is already close. One small hesitation from the front group and the speed drops in which allows the chasers to close the gap because the speeds are so high. 🤔🦋👊
Calm like a bomb lol
Bring on the tour!
The intro should rather be: „welcome to the chesterfield effect!“
Looking forward to switching things up with Dauphiné and Suisse tours. Thanks for detailed breakdowns! You think he'll come back to Giro any time soon?
Let’s hope so. Can’t imagine he never comes back. 🤞🦋👊
Sounds like you caught a cold or sore throat. Hope you are OK!
I did. Allergies I think. All from the neck up congested. But feel normal everywhere else so it’s not so bad. Thanks 🥲🦋🙏
Hope he does the triple.
👊🦋
Yesterday's ride by Pog was incredible to watch, and I say this as not a fan of his before this race, but with increasing admiration for what he's achieved and his head gone about it, but what I found even more incredible was the way in which, with the exception of Majka, the UAE domestiques were able to drop the majority of those from other top teams who are not terrible climbers. Love other thing that crossed my mind is why did Ineos let Martinez leave? Who else do they have for Grand Tours apart from possibly Bernal, but even if he could get back to anywhere near his previous form I don't think it's enough, and even if he does I don't see where the support riders are. It was also very odd to see Visma-Leesabike not show anything in this race. I know van Aert was supposed to come but didn't due to injury, and Uijtdebroeks was doing ok until he had the withdraw, especially after what they did last year. So my question is - is this a one off Giro because the Tour is so close and it's Olympic year, or is it that if only one of the superstars, Pog, Rog, or Jonas turn up at a race then we'll see this over and over again, and that the Tour is going to be the only competitive GT, because the top riders will all go to that for their respective teams? I'm not taking anything away from Pog, but I've been really underwhelmed with the racing in this Giro.
Masterclass 🚴🚴🚴🇵🇭
Barring an unexpected accident for Tadej Pogacar, Tadej will win The Gyro for 2024 running away. Simply put, Tadej's class was too much for the GC teams. Even with a team that was spoken as "their B squad" the commentator's words not mine, Tadej gave me the impression that he was using this grand tour (Incredible to even contemplate this) as a training session for Le Tour. UAE went all out today, and it was magnificent to watch. Tadej left the contenders in an almost insulting way, wow! If Jonas, Primoz, and Remco come in with their team stacked to the hilt and Tadej bring his strongest team, man the fireworks could be one for the books. I hope Jonas and Wout are at 100% to make this a legendary Tour de France.
July will be the best if all are ready. 🇫🇷🦋👊👊👊👊
Just a gentle reminder, Sepp Kuss has done NOTHING after La Vuelta. The glory of the gifted 🎁 win will haunt. I told you all so. Didn’t I?
Let’s see how the TdF goes and test if the season. Sepp is a second page (like every one but 6 riders) rider so he may just be a little bit off or sick in the early part of 2024. Let’s hope🤞🦋👊
The cycling meta is who responds the best to ped’s.
Almost 10 minuts to nr2! feels like the 90s all over agian. Ouch.
no attack from julian today ! 20days in pink bravo poggy for 6 stages wins as e mercks , 7 for a demare ,and chippo 42 stages wins merci chris et the butterfly effect team njoylife
👊🦋🙏
Chris, what do you think Tadej will do between the Giro and the Tour. Any chance he would do Suisse or Dauphine as training?
Your voice sounds like you're a bit sick.
But you lasted the whole 3 weeks so good job and wishes of good recovery if that is the case.
I've noticed as well😅😅
Chris, I'm looking forward to your review of the Giro. Hope that you are honest in your assessment that this was a 3 week training camp for Pogi. Tick all the boxes from his TT form and especially his altitude performance. Unlike those knuckleheads on Eurosport.
On paper the UAE TdF squad looks pretty amazing with the addition of Yates, Ayuso, Almeida and Soler. But I can see how this might not be as effective as it looks. Too many cooks. Not all second tier GC guys have what it takes to be super domestiques in the mold of Majka or Kuss or Novak.
That’s always possible but we have never seen race (or I haven’t) that UaE riders have not done their job for Pogi. We (I) have seen it from other members but never to Pogi. But if it was to happen at the TdF to Pogi, then the drama is going to be hi 🤔🦋👊🔥
Wow, UAE Team Emirates are really fine tuning their act here. I would be nervous facing them in the TDF. Will the other teams be ready?
UAE will send 5 climbers to the Tour with Pogi
Chris 🗣️, on the next Beyond the Coverage, can you please dissect how Ineos' supposedly strong team for the Giro 2024 had zero effect. Jabu from 🇿🇦
I like that topic. 👊🦋
Dani Martinez looked great the entire tour. Ineos shouldn't have let him go...
Pogi = 🐐
🐐👊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
MVP : Pogi's whole teammates
Best Teammate : Valentin Paret-Peintre as he pulled Geraint Thomas and his teammate Ben O'Connor..
Bardet and "top 10 favorite" are typically not words that are closely associated.
He’s a top ten rider. 🤔🦋👍
Why is Thomas always screaming "I can't make it!" in your videos? 😅😂😂 If there's an inside joke I don't get it, but still find it funny. 😂
TP getting fat off the temporary lack of competition,
Then looking at the Tour de France come July. Pogi has a deluxe gregarios with Almeida, Ayuso and A.Yates. How's that #knucklehead?!
some of these guys use a low saddle position, I gotta find the sweet spot myself,
For all the doping suspicion people i will just say what i have always said about this - if anyone is doping then everyone is, and if everyone is and a more talented cyclist stomps the field you cant just blame the doping, because its a level field. How about just enjoy the superb performances?
Consume local raw honey to develop allergy immunity.
Thanks Chris.
Easiest Giro ever seen! Must be a Firo.
No one besides Tadej Podacar could
Make a top 10 in Tour de France.
Tiberi a Future Giro Winner.
So confusing. Even when Pantani was doped beyond reason, he was STRUGGLING, likewise Armstrong. Yet Pogacar crosses the finish line . . . ‘whistling’?
yes, "žganci pa mleko" do this, you should try it 😁

Is that Rafal Majka Jersey of UAE?
🤔🦋
Pogacar 10 minutes in front in the fastest Giro ever. Managed by Gianetti. Funded by unlimited money. Climbs while smoking a pipe and riding in his slippers. Many sections of the media not allowed to even discuss it. UCI turning a blind eye. Good people having blind faith. It’s really sad to see doping in cycling again. I say again, but if Riccardo Ricco can be believed, doping never really left cycling
The cycling scene has young kids riding great from year one and small teams going head to head with the big guys. ag2R is a French team and winning all season. 🤔👊🦋
You sound like catching a bad cold and hope you are ok.
I did. Hopefully it’s just allergies and clears up quickly. 🤞🦋👊
I’m sure his clean.
I hope that Vinegar will not participate in the TDF, 'cause if Tadej does better, people will think that it doesn't count because Vinegar was not at its top form; and if Vinegar does better than Tadej, Tadej will fall in depression thinking that he lost to someone not at its top form.

Yep. Looked like a training ride for Pogi and still the Giro was so good to watch. 👊🏆🔥
Pogačar, the King of Cycling!
It's great that fans can get so close to the action but I can never understand why fans want to reach out and touch the riders.
Thanks Chris , please make a video about why tadi is in another level ? Why nobody can attack him in this giro even one time ? Is there a story behind this ,like armestrong domenance ? I mean is there use of some medications make this performance so high ?
I'm big fan of tadi but I want to know what's the difference between tadi and other pro riders from your professional view 💜
What is all this talk about 'feeling all my years' from G? Thats young isnt it? 😂
I don’t care about doping so this is certainly not a criticism. But I can’t avoid the comparison between Pog and LA on that iconic Sestriere climb.
Pogi tore this race up. 💪🦋
Eddy junior or Lance junior?
😂😮😅
Definitely Eddy & Lance are juniors behind POGI 😂
🔥🦋💪
for DOG's sake, "last and final" are the same freakin thing!
I watched entire final climb. The whole group was gasping for air and Pogi literally looking like it was a day in the park. He was toying with them. Really weak competition. Tour will be different but can’t see him getting beat. Remco will have the best shot with JV not in top form
Jonas destroys legend of Tadej Pogacar.
Jonas is lucky to ride a bike again
Every comment you mention Jonas and that he’s supposedly better than Pogacar, we got it, will you ever come up with something new?
@@MR_DroleeeYes, Jonas is better climber, ITT specjalist. Pogacar Has funny smile
My dream is that team INEOS is going to attack from the start on stage 21, do a TT for Thomas from start to finish, and take out 12 minutes on Pog. Then G Thomas will be the winner of the Giro. I am praying to my God Primoz Roglic that this is how the last stage will play out.
Good luck. 🍀👍 👊🦋

Hardly. Generational talent and a B+ field.
He has no competition except for Jonas. Both exceptional climbers. And full of endless youth energy
No different to how much time they put into them in the TdF except you don’t complain then because there are at least a few others that can compete. He got paid to race B grade riders
The most boring giro I can remember. So glad it ends today.
