I left Nigeria in 1986. I went back in 2012 and when I ask the record sellers for classics they look at me like I am crazy. They are all into Osupa, Saheed, or whatever. I know things move on but don't let forget about history. I bought all classics that I could find for Hadji SK, Epo Akara, Baba Nkawara, Ayinla Omowura, etc
I feel cheated that instead of educating us to listen to quality music of the soul like this,our English educated parents in collaboration with our government allowed us accept foreign trash as music,shalamar,the whispers,Michael Jackson,New Edition etc...while those we used to look down on and call them 'local people' were the ones actually enjoying life with such master piece music from heaven...anyway sha I still give thanks to God for finally opening my eyes to discover what music really means... this here us the food of the soul...I really wish I had met Sikiru Ayinde Barrister in person or at least seen him live...long live the greatest ever...
I won't comment on this record cos there's nothing more to say: people av spoken & the record speaks for itself. But I want Egba Alake to be saying "Amin,Amen,Ase waa": As you are making us happy, u will never experience sorrows in your life.Whatever endeavour you embark on will always come to sweet fruition.May God continue to bless u.As I wish for u, so shall it be for me & everybody on this thread.I luv your taste of music.We have so much in common! I'm still waiting for Egbe Ibile!

I`m deeply grateful for this gesture. i though i was the only person appreciates EgbaAlake and praying for the person. i even proposed we should do GoFundme for EgbaALake. Though what is doing for this generation is priceless more for us that love our traditional music than others.
This is possibly one of the greatest record ever recorded by any artist of any type of music genre in Nigeria, it became the biggest selling fuji album ever released, almost reducing the juju music 2 second choice among socialites in lagos. The combination of Oyadolu and Kamoru Ayansola, with the sekere from sanku Kadara & Kola Kasime on Agogo, with Agbajelola great voice is entirely out of this world. We will never see someone like Ayinde in this generation again. RIP Omo Bashorun Agbalagba oye

As i was told by my cousin, he use to a pilot(captain) with Nigeria Airways back in those days, but also a socialite who enjoys life and attends Barrister's fuji socialite parties.
@@remioshinowo6829 I think is the Pilot that owned Capitol Hotel in Agege area back then,cos heard that the hotel is owned by one of Nigeria Airways Pilot that fly International flight.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. When this "awo" came out I was living in Ibadan. You'll certainly hearing this being played from Molete to Dugbe along Oke Ado - Oke Bola road back then. I was in a cab and the driver stopped at Oke Bola market to pick up his copy much to the chagrin of us passengers. He wasn't going to miss out on getting his copy even with threats that we will depart his cab without paying. This record also made me an Aviator hobbyist as I wanted to be a Pilot like Tunde Amusa.
I was looking for this Album only last month in Ibadan without success. This is a real hit from Alhaji. Thanks for posting anyway. Merry Xmas to you all.....

Music was different in 70s till early 90s because of the instruments used then are quite different compared to what they are using now. Because barrister songs wasn’t like these before he passed
You see, that's the problem. They were really singing beautifully and melodiously then. This particular one is a prime example. Not only that, the lyrics had meaning also.
The topnotch recording studios folded and that affected the music he recorded before his demise. It pains to see what recording became in Nigeria since late 90s. Only A rated hips artist can afford good studio sessions this days, what they have can not even be compared to what was.
Thanks for uploading this lovely number. There's never going to be another Fuji musician like Mr FUJI himself. RIP BARRY WONDER;

Pls. could Egba Alake (or anyone) tell me the title of the album in which Barrister sing something like this '' ALAYINDE WON TUN GB'ASHA KAN W'EKO, E MAA GBO LABARI TI MO GBE DE O....ORE MI T'O NNA, T'O NKOWO LE, K'OMOYE TO JE ORE MI, ORE MI M'ASHAROORO O.....'' Actually he concluded one side of the album with this afore-mentioned lyric. Something like that. I'm really dying to hear the music again!!!!

Wasiu Ayinde is not a talented musician in any way, he just fortune through IBADAN. i.e Alh. Oba orin Sikiru Ayinde barrister and Imperial majesty our father King Saliu Akanmu Adetunji. Aje Ogunguniso 1.Olubadan of Ibadan. If wasiu Ayinde think that he is a musician, let us organise competition btw. him and Muri Thunder, Pk. Abass Obesere or King of music Akoni imo Saheed Osupa and let's see what will happen.
All these great fuji guys that you mentioned, where were they when Alhaji Agba started the game and laid down the template that all of them are using and have improved on... please be careful when you make all these spurious, ignorant and mischevious claims.
