Sejun brought a lot to the doubles meta game by bringing Pachirisu.

Pachirisu is so powerful to the point where it didn’t make it into SW/SH. Hopefully one day pachirisu can be a top tier meta defining threat in the competitive scene.
When everyone is copying each other's teams and follow the meta for the highest chances, someone using an unexpected outcast Pokémon that's considered weak automatically gains protagonist status. And if that person then manages to win world championship with said Pokémon you know they are gonna be remembered as a true legend

SirenDarkmane Well, all PvP battles have the Pokémon set back to level 50 if they are over that level. If you battled someone, your level 100 Pokemon would be set all the way back to level 50.

Not to mention, Se Jun had specifically bred his Pokémon to have perfect IVs and appropriate natures, then EV trained them the way he saw fit.; it's not like he just caught a Pokémon and trained it to level 50.
In later Pokemon games you have to have a full team of only the top Pokemon, including the 2 ugly pokemon in Glastrier and Spectrier. So because people have to use those you have to bring counters to those: Since Glastrier and Spectrier have like 2 counters, four of your team members are wasted on that

Smeargle can wall ANYTHING by learning both Protect and Detect. And imagine a Focus Sash and a huge speed boost by Baton Pass.... Priority moves required! Yep. Never underestimate something. And along with Poison/Burn!
