It has been two decades past since the FIFA World Cup came to Asia for the first time, when both South Korea and Japan jointly took the footballing spotlight in 2002.
This is a MixMax request via our Discord server, and as part of the lead-up to this year's tournament in Qatar, here is the mashup of all the versions of Vangelis' "Anthem", the theme tune for the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup.
We've also incorporated the Korean folk song "Arirang" to give it a little spice, recognizing the feat that Korea became the only Asian (AFC) team to make the semi-final stages of the World Cup; they went on to finish the tournament at fourth after losing to Turkey, 3-2, in the third-place match.

This remix is too incredibly good. Great thanks for the effort. By far, still my favorite all-time FIFA World Cup theme. Just so incredibly inspired, fitting for a global sports mega-event, yet culturally appropriate at the same time.
How Vangelis manage to craft a theme around a Korean folk-song was a touch of maestro-level genius.
