Having reviewed this already I can tell you it’s the tripe blade. Dust extraction is ok with the standard blades. 9ah or 12ah batteries would be a better option. I charge my batteries via the inverter in the van that runs off a leisure battery.
I'm sure this is already in the comments, but the issue with the dust is a combination of the triple blade and the dust extraction outlet getting clogged up, that's why the dust was kicking out. This isn't designed for a triple blade set up. I appreciate the time saved but with our one we look to use the twin blade set up and use the Armeg channelling shank to finish off, great results doing it that way. Also we find that when the debris falls away from the wall that can get lodged in the blade housing as well. We find that the portability is the redeeming factor as we have ours paired with the M Class Vac. Always good to see a review on a tool we use often to see others opinions.
Compare that to the Nagy video where he reviewed the metabo with the triple blade it is night and day. Yes the advantage is its portable with no cords but the amount of dust it kicks out just eradicates all its positives. As pointed out the metabo wins hands down. Also the price for what it is aint great considering you still have to fork out a rake of cash on batteries with reasonable life.
If he used the correct hose attachment it wouldn’t kick out anywhere near as much dust he just stuck the hose in the port, the dewalt interchangeable port connections go on the outside. Not only that the dewalt uses a double blade not a triple so not used as it’s intended use
It only kicks out that amount of dust due to the fact it was used in a fashion that it isn't designed to be used to ie the triple blade but I understand it was done this way to compare with the Metabo, which I also agree is a cracking machine. But we have zero issues with dust unless the outlet gets clogged, which happens from time to time on all chasers.
My Metabo MFE 40 Wall Chaser and ASR 35 vac are decent. When the tool triggers activated, the vac kicks in. Dewalt make a load of crap now. It's Black & Decker Stanley owned. Really doesn't last.
The last time I seen something, black and yellow, it stung me,, I touched Dewalt for a day ,, personally, not worth the sting in the pocket,, and that chaser was howling
I would not have paid 850 quid for the chaser and battery - I got mine, the metabo triple blade, 2 batteries and the vacuum for 1000. I have a total of 4 batteries now and it'll do an entire kitchen without issue. You got a hell of a lot more dust than I normally do out of it though, I will say that you can't chase as fast with it because of the dust extraction but I have heard of people cutting the dust guide inside the cover so it gets more suction.
I'm Dewalt everything apart from a Mikwaukee 12V angled drill. I was tempted when looking for a chaser, looked into that one but comparing it with the Metabo kit there's no comparison. I've not used the Dewalt but the Metabo, as shown by many in YT is dust free, not like the Dewalt. I take the argument it might not be designed for the triple blade but the thing that makes the Metabo so good, as well a the lack of dust, is the quick channeling it achieves by using the triple blade. Also, It might have been a fairer comparison if you had have used your Metabo dust extractor instead of the Bosch.
assuming your always running any chaser with an extractor that needs mains power, doesn't seem worth the huge price for just the tool to be cordless and have to still be connected to a hose
I am an apprentice and I use this wall chaser nearly daily and we have the deWalt vacuum and we rarely get any dust when using it so I recommend the DeWalt vacuum but keep up the good work and good job
DeWalt vacuum is pretty weak. I have also tried this combo. My great master bought this Dewalt kit. Only thing I liked about it was the handle and wheels. Honestly I think Karcher or Bosch vacuums are more powerful. I personally get one of the smaller Karcher since it is lighter to carry around and figured if it breaks faster it is cheep enough to change regularly. The main problem still might be with chaser how it directs dust.
There should have been a little fold down vacuum attachment on the front of the tool to get rid of all the dust. Start your cut from the top... then fold the vacuum bit into the hole. Not sure why they buggered up the dust extraction on such a tool.
I have the Metabo 240v chaser with the inclined blade stack and it is excellent. The only downsides are the weight, which you really feel at the top of a chase, and the initial dust until the plate is flat on the wall. Makita 36v vacuum with proper joints does the job from then on.
I have and use the Metabo on a day to day to basis but with the hover as well it takes up a lot of space in the van so I do think this would be great just to keep on the van for those quick jobs where you may only need to make two or three chasses
Could you do it again with just the twin blade like it comes out the box. Is it possible to enlarge the extraction hole to handle the dust the triple blade creates.
Dust extraction is really bad with Dewalt. Actually when I first got Metabo I was confused how little dust gets out. I thought for a second that I was not cutting. Had previously worked with few wall chasers - Bosch, Hilti, Makita. None of them directed dust to hose as effectively as Metabo. Metabo has two holes for that and I am not sure completely how it works, If there is some magical physics going on, but it works well.
Nick, I have seen a video of the dewalt chaser using just two blades and the dewalt vacuum, have you tried the two blades that I assume came with the chaser? I wonder how much cleaner they run than the three blade setup? Maybe worth checking that out in a video, still think it's bloody expensive compared to your mains powered unit All the best to you and Adam and your families for 2022
I have that you , and I put that triple blade in , it was to much dust for it it works better with the normal dewalt twin blade , then it is just cutting two slots and not taking out the whole chase
Seem cord wall chaser is better choice, i saw other youtuber test makita ,metabo or bosch, no dust at all 🤔 is it possible of your vacuum cleaner full already? Or just DeWalt design problem?
not sure how I feel about this one tbf, of course it’s a beast… it’s Dewalt BUT, the idea of it being battery, only seems useful for it being portable, however it’s not very portable when they’res a vacuum got to be attached to it wherever it goes 🤷🏻♂️
Hello and thanks for the video! I would like to ask which bosch vacuum adapter you use to fit the Dewalt Wall Chaser with the Bosch Vacuum. Since the dewalt comes with their own locking system that requires an adapter. Thanks in advance!
I have this same tool but your review did it an injustice as regards to the dust. It was so dusty because you used it to cut out for back boxes. If you go over the same area multiple times, the hole you make with the 1st pass creates a passage for the dust to pour out. Also doesn't come with triple blade setup so the extra blade cut creates more dust for any vacuum to cope with. My tool will cut chases at full 32mm depth in hard common brick with very minimal dust. Dont rush the tool, just a steady downward pace giving it time to extract the dust. On one 6ah battery i can easily get 5 or more vertical chases top to bottom. My only criticism with the Dewalt is its length with the battery can make it difficult to handle down towards the floor. I could rave on about just how good this tool is but hey.... you are the reviewer so i suggest you use the tool properly and show us what it can really do.
Hey, i'm considering buying this stuff, and wondering how many meters it can go with one charge, so 5 vertical chase in an avrage house would mean like 12 to 13 meters with one charge on a 6AH battery?
I like the dewalt stuff. Bought the vacuum attachment for their multitool and it’s poor too. Same when you’ve got the hoover attached to the orbital sander. 🤷♂️
A battery tool gives you convenience, jobs like that I prefer mains tools, my mate has been through 2 DeWalt 54v drills, and they weren't doing heavy work, mostly being used for red plugs. I have tried a few chasers over the years, and found that some spin too fast, and the extraction can't cope with it. I have had a Bosch chaser for about 15 years and while not perfect, I found it to be very good, it only spins 900rpm, works great with all vacs even cheap ones. You couldn't use that DeWalt chaser in a lived in house, be like using an angle grinder, plus if you were using that day in day out, I doubt it would last 5 years if it's anything like the SDS drill my mate has.
I have yet to find a wall chaser that works well with the bosch gas 35, i own one but don't rate it, be interesting to see the metabo wall chaser on the bosch to see if its bosch vac thats letting down the dewalt or just a poor design for the dust routing
Where can you buy the tripple blade from? I bought as an investment along the the hoover. In all honesty crap for the money especially the hoover all it does is alarm every couple of seconds. Hoover was £400. I've bought a corded extraction unit now as much better but still kicks loads of dust up. Wish I'd bought the matabo one on Nagy's video didn't see until bought :(
This has been a useful video. I have this chaser and the cordless vac too which is a great combo (it does eat batteries but all my gear is dewalt so I have lots). I was considering getting the metabo triple blade to fit in it but won’t bother now, I think it’s clearance rate is too high for the dewalt to cope with.
Was the vacuum on 🤣 I think speed of cut is the key , it would make a big difference to dust and battery life because as the motor starts to bog down the drain on pack increases, also would direction of cut make any difference. What is the rpm on DeWalt compared to mains chaser.Great video as usual.
We use the dewalts all the time. Dust is an issue with the triple blade. We have found it works a lot better with a proper connector on the chaser rather than our bodged taped efforts 👌 Also running slower down the wall makes a massive difference. I guess it's not really designed for the triple blade so slow but steady results in minimal Dust. Haven't had the mains ones on site in months.
Cant do that. It is meant for pulling. That is by design. Blades go opposite direction. There are some other chasers like that, Makita for example, which I beg you don't even try. This chaser is decent, but dust is still more than with Metabo. You can kind of see how direction of cutting disks might be one of the culprits of that direction of dust because vacuum hose always goes down if you put chaser against the wall, but disks push dust in sort of opposite direction.
Unfair review, not a dewalt fan boy!! 😂 to be fair use the correct blades and correct attachment for dust extraction then review again please! Thanks none the less :-)
The dewalt wall chaser is not the best. (I own one). The titan is less dustier than the dewalt. Metabo is the way forward. Theres also a single blade attatchment called Herzo that barely creates dust. The herzo attaches to a dewalt angle grinder.
Metabo all day night long even the chase looks way easier then the dewalt the dewalt because it’s battery powered and it’s eating into the brick there has to be good engineering behind it and a big fat battery behind it otherwise it will simply not work but I think it needs to go back to the drawing board
Big fan of dewalt but this is a joke in my opinion... Chase down? Stupid amount of dust. The price Might as well go out and by the metabo one with the hoover.
Nick if your interested I have a brand new 9amp 18v/54v battery I don’t need will fit that nicely if you want it could do with a nice volicity tool bag if you have a spare 😉👍 let me no
Go with the flow dude. You are pulling the tool against the blade rotation. Not optimal for cutting or dust extraction, a retest may be in order plus battery will very rarely ever compare to mains alternative.... Start low and head up to your finish line. You stole cablesmith sign off you beast.
what a massive let down ! decent machine but their clearly didnt test the extraction proper. i wonder if its due to the use of a triple blade. Please test it with a standard dual blade, i recon it will go much better
She’s very dusty isn’t she, may aswell use a grinder with shroud on and save about £600 😂 Fantastic idea for marking where the blades are I shall steal this 👏
Having a cordless chaser is a stupid idea all together, I don’t think the battery would last that long, the amount of charging & discharging would mean the lifespan of the battery would be very short. I’m a dewalt guy myself but this is a no no from me.

with the triple blade bud?
Whats the point? If you have power for the dust extractor then you have power for a mains chaser. I think I will stick with my Metabo setup!

That's an honest review if I've ever seen one.
was that the Bosch beeping @5:08 for either restricted airflow or full dust bag? It seems the extraction was alright for the first chase?
how did you mount the 3rd blade?
Dust extraction is really bad with Dewalt. Actually when I first got Metabo I was confused how little dust gets out. I thought for a second that I was not cutting. the hilti one seems to have working dust extraction but its proper $$$$
Hi bro... How many hours battery can last?
Can you test ISO Tunes Bluetooth ear defenders??
Seems pointless if u got a 240v hover ,u may aswell have a 240v cutter
can you do a comparison between Metabo and Bosch vacuums please?
I didn’t know if you noticed but you’re going the wrong way you should always go forward backwards that’s why are you getting more dust
Or just DeWalt design problem?
noticed the new velocity backpack in the back of the van, nice. have they got a release date yet?
I had a wall chaser in the 70’s it was called a 4lb hammer and a chisel, not too popular with the builders, lol.
not sure how I feel about this one tbf, of course it’s a beast… it’s Dewalt

My whole Fleet is from Dewalt. I use the 54V Wall Chaser with a Dewalt 230V big Vacuum.Cleaner. this Combo works perfect.

Not 100% sure but I think that you can use dewalt power stack batteries with it which are significantly smaller then the flex volt batteries
And better in performance
No you can’t unfortunately
Review it with the correct blade please

Did he forget to turn the hoover on?
What sds chisels do you find works best after you’ve done the chasing
The one that fits into channel fully.
Good honest review the price is high compared to metabo but I love the metabo always have I would always want a metabo
Was the vacuum on 🤣 I think speed of cut is the key , it would make a big difference to dust and battery life because as the motor starts to bog down the drain on pack increases, also would direction of cut make any difference. I would pick my matebo every time the dust 🙊 of the dewalt
Nice vid 👍
Great review - good to hear clear honest pros and cons.
Would be great to see it with the Dewalt blades.
That dust is absolutely shocking I'm a dewalt man but for 850 quid I'd expect zero dust from this if using a connected hoover. 😲
They used wrong blades. Looks like Metabo Tri-Blade...
Exactly this dust make shock me 😲 I have makita zero dust going out... dewalt please soon make new model... anyway design is top
please in Ghana and I need the Dewalt Wall Chaser machine
20-24v DC
Given the amount of dust it kicks out you might just as well skip the hoover alltogether 😂
I'm glad you said it, looks great but the dust it kicks out, poor
How much dust? 😬🙄😵💫
You need good a industrial Vacuum like Starmix,Hilti etc.
looks like that dust extractor fan is not doing a good job and sucking the dust
wow, I wanted to buy this but was too expensive so I went with the Metabo glad I did as I get no dust with the metabo. great vid👍
They should have made the dust shoot with 1 90° so the dust can flow smoothly.
I don't think 18v is practical in this situation especially on a rewire where this would get mostly used
It’s 54v not 18v
We use the dewalts all the time. Dust is an issue with the triple blade. We have found it works a lot better with a proper connector on the chaser rather than our bodged taped efforts 👌
Also running slower down the wall makes a massive difference. I guess it's not really designed for the triple blade so slow but steady results in minimal Dust. Haven't had the mains ones on site in months.
Chris found that the hoover couldn’t keep up with more than two blades installed
Way too much dust! ... dewalt really messed up on that one.... thanks for your review..👍
I think if you pushed instead of pulling would have created less dust.
Try the makita wall chaser half the price
Metabo all day night long even the chase looks way easier then the dewalt the dewalt because it’s battery powered and it’s eating into the brick there has to be good engineering behind it and a big fat battery behind it otherwise it will simply not work but I think it needs to go back to the drawing board
Good review that Nicolas thank you
The dust extraction looked non existent - poor design possibly ? Your Metabo looks miles cleaner to use. Great video 👍
Big fan of dewalt but this is a joke in my opinion...
Chase down?
Stupid amount of dust.
The price
Might as well go out and by the metabo one with the hoover.
I now feel Durty!...pmsl that dust!...🤣
The apprentice with a lump hammer and bolster is a hell of a lot cheaper
I know this is a dumb question for y’all. But what in heck is this for?!
Kannst mit der auch decken sauber schlitzen
Think i will stick with my 240 v chaser and vac , no dust and lasts all day....and its cheaper to buy.....cheers
Thanks for sharing this with us take care
8:55 👀 ✌🏼 💚🖤
I love your work clothing, really appropiate LOL
Great compare
what a massive let down ! decent machine but their clearly didnt test the extraction proper. i wonder if its due to the use of a triple blade. Please test it with a standard dual blade, i recon it will go much better
She’s very dusty isn’t she, may aswell use a grinder with shroud on and save about £600 😂
Fantastic idea for marking where the blades are I shall steal this 👏
no use of vacuum dust every where
Still a lot of dust compared to the Metabo solution
Cordless tech simply isn't suitable for everything. You're soon gonna cook your batteries chasing all day with something like that.
Having a cordless chaser is a stupid idea all together, I don’t think the battery would last that long, the amount of charging & discharging would mean the lifespan of the battery would be very short. I’m a dewalt guy myself but this is a no no from me.
Just use 2 blades and you stop the ridiculous amounts of dust.
DeWalt wall chaser
Compared to another vid on similar using TRIPPLE BLADES ~ yes your dust is no longer acceptable.
Excuses for dust is OK for single blade is not acceptable, certainly a serious limitation ~ other manufacturers have done it leaving almost clean rooms behind ~ unless someone else is lying? < and naturally on RUclips that condition is pandemic.

@Ellis The DJ if took 5 minutes to fire up web site and find it, that's £5 wasted not earning, depending on day rate
Would just pay the Metabo price, not worth buying that DeWalt one
to much dust, major clean
That’s a lot of dust
It's a big thumbs down for this product from me. Thanks for sharing.
two blades good.........three blades bad :)
Metabo all day.
I have the 110v version of the same Metabo set up as you and it knocks everything else into a cocked hat 🤘😎🤘
