    YOU ARE RIGHT,BACK IN THE EARLY 60S I WAS A CABLE FOREMEN FOR A.E.I. USING McALPINES GANGS FOR TRENCHING AND CABLE PULLING,GREAT GUYS,WHO HAD ONLY KNOWN HARDSHIP IN ERIN,CAME OVER TO BETTER THEIR LIVES AND FACE BIGOTRY AND RACISM,ENDED UP WITH MANY OF THEIR FAMILIES AS LIFELONG FRIENDS,BLESS ALL OF THEM.

      I just saw this four years later and I hope you see this but I have yo ask you if, by any chance you are related to Ron or Ray Nutt. They came from Uttoxetor in Staffordshire. I worked with them with A.E.I Overhead Lines Division in many. parts of England and Wales in the 60's also. I would be so grateful if you can reply. Thank you.

    Reminds me of my dad. Always a spade and shovel man. When JCB's came and took a lot of the work Dad would say 6 good paddies could outdig a JCB , then after a pause he would say you would find it hard to find 6 good paddies these days !!

    then one night i went down to Biddy Muiligans ,met my future ,emigrated to new zealand ,now happily back in south belfast .
