    I remember how I felt when the Spurs lost to Miami the previous year. I felt that it was the end of an era, and the future of the franchise was unknown. So to see them return to the finals against the Heat and systematically destroy that team was one of the most amazing and beautiful spectacles I've ever seen in sports. Not only did the Spurs not die, they broke up that Heat team.

      +The Boulder just shows how great and respectable of a coach Gregg Pop is. You see how his players are well disciplined and have never had any type of coach vs player beef like Dwight, LeBron, or Marbury. Spurs lost in 2013, but Greg learned and studied the Heats' weakness so well and came back strong the next year with a 4-1 victory. Being coached under Pop, his offensive plays are spectacular that when any average players starts to become consistent with it but putting up really good numbers, he slowly becomes recognized as a superstar.

I want them to go back to this style of playing so everyone feel so important. I am sure some of the pieces that got traded away really miss the Spurs organization.

    San Antonio Spurs are the best professional franchise in all professional sports with the best winning percentage. Teamwork, excellence, dedication, continuity, selflessness, consistency has been the hallmark of sheer greatness while having the fourth most championships in NBA history with five. Only the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles/Minneapolis Lakers and the Boston Celtics have more championships than the San Antonio Spurs. This is an elite organization that has shown how basketball should be played encompassing only one main goal and that is the commitment to winning as a TEAM.

    As an unbiased spectator (Warriors fan, I had no stake in either team) and as a self proclaimed basketball purist, I have to say, game 3 and game 4 were the best display of offense I have ever seen in my lifetime, and one of the best displays of team basketball on both sides.

    Not American, don't know shit about basketball, but as a football (soccer) fan, watching these spurs videos I can't help but feel the same as when watching FC Barcelona play their beautifull game. The match is almost perfect, because apparently Spurs have a magic trio (Parker, Ginobli, Duncan, from three different countries), and Barcelona have its too (Messi, Suarez, Neymar, from three different countries).
    The playing of thoses two teams in two very different sports, are very similar, and truely beautifull.

Beautiful video. I'm going to be honest, I cried watching this. I'll miss watching the Spurs' brilliance over the off-season, hopefully we can come back just as strong next year and repeat. Without this Spurs team, you'll never hear of a Golden State. Deep & solid bench who could start on other teams, passing & moving without the ball, making the extra pass, hitting alot of 3's etc...They really just downloaded this whole style and copied it and took it to another level because their younger. More power to them but it's just facts. And that's the reason I feel Pop is the best coach to ever do it. Everyone wants to be like him.

    To all my Spurs fans out there, this video brings me so much joy, but at the same time so much pain as well. The Spurs have been good for so long and will continue to be in the years to come, but the big three Parker, Manu, and Duncan. There time is coming and it hurts to imagine the game without these three, they have been such a huge inspiration to me that imagining the game without them is so depressing. Keep this video in your mind forever because this to me is the biggest challenge that not only the Spurs have faced and overcome, but the pinnacle of everything are big three are capable of. From 4:42 just makes me cry.

    2014 Spurs was probably one of the greatest TEAMS of all time. They had one of the toughest playoff routes in recent history and totally dominated and completely disassembled the "Super Friends" Heat team.

    • @maxdurk4624
      @maxdurk4624 8 лет назад

      Uhm, were the Mavs and Blazers really that good? And this Heat team was nowhere near as good as the 2012 or 2013 versions of the team. And they lucked out with Ibaka missing the first two games of the OKC series, it was 2-2 with Ibaka, 2 Thunder blowouts and 2 close miraculous wins by the Spurs.

    • @janmartinbatoy5915

      The Mavs took the Spurs to 7 because of Carter's game-winner, and because Rick Carlisle turned it into a coach vs. coach adjustment dogfight.

      @@maxdurk4624 Yeah and the spurs blew out the Thunder in the series twice too! Cry me a river about Ibaka's injury...Every team has injuries. Only champions overcome them and win a championship? Remind me, how many trophies does OKC have?

    • @maxdurk4624
      @maxdurk4624 3 года назад

      @@ljgittingeriii3199 1. I like how you conveniently omitted that the Spurs two blowout wins were the 2 games without Ibaka.
      2. Yes, every team has injuries, yes the Spurs were amazing, but that is a pretty significant what-if. I still think the Spurs win the series with a healthy Ibaka but it goes 7. And for the record, if you want to try to shit on OKC, do know they were the team San Antonio were always the most afraid of during their runs.

    Coming from being a bulls fan from Chicago l felt the identical high that I did from the third Chicago bulls championship and this was the year that they had about nine different countries represented. That year this was an incredible quorum of NBA players. I am now proud to be a citizen of San Antonio as of last year and hopefully I'm here in time not this year but hopefully next year get to be here for the start of another championship with the incredibly talented French prodigy Victor Wemby and I know have to witness this young man which has broken a few records already for a 19 year old . The Spurs have been losing as of late but he is developing just like the second year rookie chet holmgren in all respect that young man has developed very nice. Go san Antonio Spurs........I have to get used to saying that 🎉😂🎉😊

    I've watched these guys since I was able to understand great basketball. I watched them win their first in 99'. I've watched them suffer great losses, unfortunate accidents, the draft pick of Parker & Ginobili, the great retirement of Robinson along with the 2nd NBA championship in 2003, the passing of Tim Duncan's father, overcoming the hype of rising young teams, winning their 3rd championship in 2005 which also solidified Tim Duncan's position as leading man, yet another championship just 2 years later, and watching them go through their biggest hardships & treasures in these last 7 years. The biggest being last year when they were literally just 28 seconds from winning their 5th. You have to be extremely mentally & physically committed to take a loss like that & put it behind you while learning from it just to come back this year & finally win their 5th in a rematch with the heat. They made sure their name & their spots as a team, age & talent were never questioned again. And they all did it as a family in the past decade. They don't have extreme commercial endorsements. All of their commercials are for their own community in San Antonio. They all contribute to charities & fund raisers. No other team comes close to touching this kind of greatness & I'm so proud to have lived in San Antonio to watch this team inspire our city. More than well deserved.

      I think the message that comes from the Spurs' win is important. With all teams building superstar teams and star players jumping ship to take the easy way out to win championships, the Spurs are silently sending the message that team basketball and selfless team play will beat talent alone. Developing players, scouting out players by how they fit rather than just statistics, putting trust in each other, putting aside ego and listening to the coach... No team does it better than San Antonio. Much respect to the Spurs organization. I hope Timmy comes back for at least another year and they make a run for title six! No other team comes close to being as enjoyable to watch than the Spurs right now.

    • @ForceOfVader

      This title is special to me because of how the team responded after last year's loss. I myself couldn't help but feel the pain from that series. I've been a Spurs fan all my life, seen some crazy wins and tough losses, but last year stung the most. I couldn't be more proud of the Spurs. It's tough enough to even get into the PO's in the West and the gauntlet you have to run through just to get to the Finals is daunting, add the fact that you could bet the bank Miami was gonna be there waiting. Amazing run from an amazing team! Now we gotta do the one thing we haven't yet....go back to back!!!

      True, but I just meant that they're professional about everything. They send the message with their play rather than just talking about it. Some teams seem to be all talk but no walk. SA is the opposite, they walk the walk and go about their business. I hope they repeat.

      Just getting out of that gauntlet that is the Western Conference makes almost any "oddsmaking" an exercise in futility anyway. But if Duncan and Ginobilli play at the level they did this year...hard to not see the Spurs getting back to the conference finals at least.

I swear they thought Houston and Clippers and OKC had more of a chance winning than the Spurs even though the Spurs were overall #1 seed with the best bench and no players avg more than 30 mins. smh

Too many teams play one on one and run a stagnant offense with the end result being shown on espn due to it ending in a dunk or some type of highlight. This is what team basketball is all about and it's a beautiful game to watch when played as a team. Thank you for this video!

    Only thing that would make this video better is to start with a full speed version of that crazy pick and roll against OKC at the beginning of the video... that's the moment when I KNEW that the Spurs were going to win the title this year. At full speed, coming in transition, that play just blew my mind (just like it did Mr. Zach Lowe's). It also happened to be the first play I saw of that game in real time. I couldn't watch the game before that, and I turned on the t.v. and saw that and went "HOLY SHIT!" and I just knew. The Spurs put together a sweet little run there, and it got close later, then an OT, but the Spurs had already shown me they were just too good. Just too confident, too skilled, and too good. Awesome stuff.

      Yep, once Tony Parker went out with the injury, I knew the spurs were gonna win - even though they were down by 7 at the half. Parker was ineffective against the tall athletic thunder - and this is an adjustment that should have been made before the injury.
