But, elegance doesn’t scream, it whispers. Simplicity is more than half-way to elegance. With restrained classic cuts, high-quality fabrics and construction, good fit and a quiet color palette, your’e there. This doesn’t have to mean all neutrals, but neutrals should make up the backbone of the wardrobe. Neon or super-bright colors and big, loud prints don’t work with this look. I agree, what we used to call “Quiet Good Taste” style is forever. This elegant look doesn’t have to be expensive, either, just stick with simple cuts and quality natural fibers/materials, all retailers have some items in them. A quiet, elegant, understated style has always been my goal and I’ve been styling for 50 years, this style isn’t new. Right now is a great time to find excellent, quality, timeless classics, and that isn’t always the case! There is, happily, a reaction to the ridiculous dressing-down of the pandemic years. Footed pajamas on grown women out shopping, really?
