The bomb that killed DeCicco was apparently intended to kill both him and Gotti, but the guy with Frankie was mistaken for Gotti. That might have left Sammy as the boss. What if, right?
They still would have went down in the same amount of time if not sooner than John. This all happened on the heels of the commission case. The FBI was not letting the Gambino family out of their sight no matter who ran that organization.

A movie needs to be made based on this podcast, with Sammy in control of how it's made. No bullshit to make it more 'Hollywood', no license for whoever would produce it to be artistic. Just the nuts and bolts, bare, honest, following Sammys words to a T. I love listening to, and watching Sammys videos. Everything about them is amazing. Mr. Gravano, great story! The funniest part was about the heart-shaped bed. I had to laugh at that part. Thanks for the story and this podcast. Have a great weekend.
I think Dicicco was making a move for the family boss and that is the reason he agrees to take out paul. He did not want the heat from killing a mafia boss. He wanted Gotti to take the heat, then later eliminate him. Other bosses would have thought good of him after killing Gotti. But he waited too long and accidentally got killed.
I believe that what was Dicicco was trying to do, get rid of Paul, put John in. Give Gotti enough rope and wait for him to hang himself and get rid of him once the other families call for John to get sacked. Step in as the new boss and put Sammy as his underboss. By then John would've taken the brunt of the blame and heat for killing a boss and Dicicco could come in and fix everything and look like a hero in the eyes of the other families. it was actually a really good power play, but he didn't take into consideration of Chin wanting to kill John and Sammy in which he would get killed by accident. But it does make you wonder how things would've gone if Frankie was able to follow through with the other half of his plan.
You know Sammy, I know you had a "colorful " past but after listening to you I think you are a real man with real values. That might come across as comical to you but you really do strive to be loyal to your beliefs. You also have your ego in check and that is truly rare to see that. Love watching and listening...
Colorful ? Now murder robbery extortion is just colorful ? Do you feel that way about serial killers and baby killers too Andrea you probably wrote to convicted murderers on death row. You are nuts this guy scares the shit out of me
If that was true statement. He would have never agreed to kill Pauly. That is not La Cosa nostra. But Sammy was not real la cosa nostra because he ratted. They should have never killed Pauly. He was going to prison.
@Account for Comment yeah its crazy how people worship him he is a murder and should be in jail but he talked to save his own but not a hero by any means
You are the best Historian of the Cosa Nostra would ever have. Every time I watch one of your podcast I feel like I'm sitting right there in front of you and taking in every spoken word. I enjoy all of your stories Mr. Sammy. I can't wait to see the Sit Down with you and Michael. Peace and Blessings to you and your Family.
Man, after listening to and watching these and his side stories, the amount of respect I have for Sammy is immense. If I could ever meet him in person it would be THE biggest honour and one of the greatest moments in my life.
I love the way they ended this. The director (James Carroll) is doing a fantastic job of setting up the background. The music...the studio where Sammy sits and tells the stories....the pacing of each episode. All of it is first-rate. I'm not on Patreon so I have to wait until Fridays for each episode. But I'm used to that kind of anticipation due to being a fan of shows like "The Sopranos", "Boardwalk Empire", "The Wire", "Game of Thrones" and so on and so. But this is obviously different due to obvious reasons. But it is similar in that you are always left wanting more and having that feeling of anxiety that comes with a well told cliffhanger. Kudos to all the folks involved with the presentation. I don't think anyone has ever done what they're doing here. This is groundbreaking and, for my money, the best Cosa Nostra channel on RUclips by far. Bravissimo! Cent'anni!!
Thanks for telling your story Sammy. Much love and respect to you and your family. Most won’t understand, but the world needs more men like you in it. You stick to your morals and principles like no one does anymore these days.
i go back to sammys stories with the rampers. they were just grown men acting like little kids from the gang. there is a line in the bronx tale............ they aint the tough guys, anybody can pull a trigger. how about the guy who goes to work everyday to support his family? they are the real tough guys
His "passion" led him to break every rule and take down so many he claimed loyalty and love to? SMDH! It's hilarious when he tried acting like he never killed for money!! LMAO!! In the Sawyer interview he LOL about people he hurt and killed over money. Quit being so gullible.
Sammy is the best story teller of this life. If Hollywood made these stories into a movie they would def fuck it up. Sammy needs to be the show runner and have final say on every scene cut . This man is a fantastic story teller. He makes you feel like you’re in the story while he’s telling it. Bravo Sammy !!!!!

I would guess Taddo saw the young lions going into a feeding frenzy and was wise enough to get out the way before the paranoia of the power grab turned on him too.
@@em34ev3r I can't disagree. Myself the second I heard Decicco (even before Gravano finished the story) say he could never be boss because of Gotti's ego it was over. Decicco and Gravano should have nipped that bud. Personally I would have taken Gotti's head to Castellano and explained why Gotti was going to take him out and of course congratulate myself for saving the boss's life. Then maybe the purse strings would loosen up.
The tale this podcast - this channel - has been building to all along. Amazing stuff. Sammy will be remembered for many things, but he will be LOVED for the work he's put into telling his story.

All of these stories are insanely entertaining. The heart-shaped bed and silk jammies part was hilarious. Also, +1000 for "He had this little bitchass apartment - or whatever you wanna call that. Place where he picked up broads. Playboy's apartment."
I know, even in the middle of a deadly serious situation, he somehow finds something hilarious to toss in the middle of a high tension time! Brilliant! He's right though, could you imagine the headlines and articles that would have been written up if the Feds or cops found them in THAT bedroom on the same bed? Oh boy, the pure humiliation, they never would have lived it down. Sammy's too fucking smart for that nonsense!
@@rpurdy4821 Sammy is a garden variety wise-guy mobster. I've known some smart mobsters. He definitely doesn't measure up to their intelligence. This is obvious.

I swear on everything sammy is the best damn storyteller I’ve ever come across. He puts you right in the scene, Scorsese couldn’t do a better job at story telling! Am addicted to these… when’s the Sammy the bill movie coming? Wow!
Mr. Gravano, great story! The funniest part was about the heart-shaped bed. I had to laugh at that part. Thanks for the story and this podcast. Have a great weekend.
What do you mean he’s “funny”? Funny how? He’s a clown here to amuse you? 😄
It does make you wonder if Dicicco had lived how different things would have been. Maybe a 2nd Gambino boss gets taken out.
@@cgmoran91 I agree with you 100%. Dicicco wanted to use Gotti as the sacrificial lamb.
game of thrones.
You know Sammy, I know you had a "colorful " past but after listening to you I think you are a real man with real values. That might come across as comical to you but you really do strive to be loyal to your beliefs.
You also have your ego in check and that is truly rare to see that. Love watching and listening...
Real man with real values? I think your missing a few chromosomes
Lol he’s a great storyteller that’s it some of y’all treat this guy like he’s telling tales of valor from ww2 😂😂😂🤷🏾♂️
Colorful ? Now murder robbery extortion is just colorful ? Do you feel that way about serial killers and baby killers too Andrea you probably wrote to convicted murderers on death row. You are nuts this guy scares the shit out of me
I enjoy his stories but I he IS a killer and dangerous .
If that was true statement.
He would have never agreed to kill Pauly.
That is not La Cosa nostra.
But Sammy was not real la cosa nostra because he ratted.
They should have never killed Pauly.
He was going to prison.
The guy is just an amazing storyteller.

Sammy's storytelling is very compelling and clear. Much much more better than Nat Geo, History Channel or Discovery combined.
Sammy has the BEST podcast period!!!! Netflix should pay him anything he wants and do the penultimate documentary/interview on his life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*you're 👍
The love he has for toddo than anyone else is powerful
The way you tell it Sammy I feel like I’m with you
Im so glad that sammy documented his passion for cosa nostra that way. Very captivating ! Already on my second listen.
Better than reading the book 📚
i go back to sammys stories with the rampers. they were just grown men acting like little kids from the gang. there is a line in the bronx tale............ they aint the tough guys, anybody can pull a trigger. how about the guy who goes to work everyday to support his family? they are the real tough guys

After all these years it's fascinating to hear a main player filling in the facts. Brilliant.
Sammy, Crew everyone involved with Our Thing podcast wonderful job! That was probably the best production so far Great Job! And the way you told it Sammy from the Heart. It was moving and touched my Heart. I could see your pain and all the love you have and had for La Costa Nostra.🖤💔

This is why I have respect for Sammy ,this video shows that he cares and has a heart.
A TV Show with Sammy's life IS A MUST!
Sammy, I have enjoyed many of the stories. I just started watching them few days ago. I am hooked. Thank you for telling it the way it is.
Another great story brilliantly told. I close my eyes and picture everything like a movie. Would like to hear some more toddo and frankie d stories.
What a life. Amazing . Once again I don't have the words to express all I feel by listening.
I would guess Taddo saw the young lions going into a feeding frenzy and was wise enough to get out the way before the paranoia of the power grab turned on him too.
I think it was deeper than just that. To him, once the golden rule was broken he knew the La Cosa Nostra way of life was done.

Wow, Sammy’s account of this time in Cosa Nostra history is incredible, I keep feeling like I’m a fly on the wall experiencing what was taking place. I don’t think there will ever be another period like this in organized crime. I’ll be the first in line if a movie is ever made about all this, Sammy ‘s input would be an absolute must.

The hitt the gett away. The whole story is just amazing it gives me chills to hear this fucking story... I love it😍
All of these stories are insanely entertaining. The heart-shaped bed and silk jammies part was hilarious. Also, +1000 for "He had this little bitchass apartment - or whatever you wanna call that. Place where he picked up broads. Playboy's apartment."
Entertaining, but most of his stories are bull, no pun intended.
