I don't want to be arrogant or know-it-all or anything like that but I know I'm not a normal person who listens lot of music, NO , I'm obsessed with music. Since I was a child, my father always made me listen to good music it affected me so much in my life that today I became obsessed... Just by listening to music I learned how to play the drums .. I'm the type of person who comes home with headphones and I only start talking to my wife after I finish listening the album I was listening to before I got home... how crazy is that right? Just because that way my brain is always trained to know the beginning and end of the album... Every day I listen albums and albums and stories about songs, about musicians it never ends. Once again and I don't want to be arrogant but as my musical knowledge is so great that I can't measure it I can still put this song in my top 3... If it's not number 1... And finally, this was the song that was stuck in my head all day the day my dad died. I remember it as if it were yesterday, I was on the beach, I was floating in the water with the hot sun on my face and that song wouldn't leave my head, I spent the whole afternoon on the beach and in the evening I discovered that my father had died.
Met David in Atlanta, in '98 (Variety Playhouse show / CPR) following a gracious invite to meet him. As "Laughing" has always been a favorite of mine, I asked him "whence the inspiration?", and he described this tune as his personal advice to George re: all 'Gurus'. I then asked him if CPR's repertoire included Croz's song 'Delta'. He immediately perked up and smiled broadly. "You like Delta? We'll do it for you". And so, indeed, they did. Could've knocked me over with a piece of dandelion fluff... Treasure that memory for the rest of my days. Gratitude always.
I envy you. Meeting Croz must have been awesome. He has an aura that's hard to describe but is filled with love and joy. BYW I heard this tune was about George and Paramahansa Yoganada whom he was a disciple of when they went to India in 1968. There was always something weird about how he was always giggling like he knew a secret but wasn't ready to share it. Just my personal take....

Even after all the time has passed from its release in 1970 they still managed to display this song's greatness!
Thank you❤. I was there and this is the first time I'm hearing this since it happened. Thank you so much❤❤❤❤💖❤
Spectacular version. Thanks for sharing.
I was at this show! There were so many different people playing the SEVA Benefit but this was one of my favorites of the night!
Love this Song and this Version!

RIP Croz 💔
great track,. haunting in an odd way
. . . and a bit indulgent in contrast to the studio version.
@@TangleF50 ….perhaps purposely to emphasize the trauma of that reality
@@billykkutter Good point !
@@TangleF50 I personally prefer the studio version with Jerry's soaring pedal steel on full display....
