It's been about a year since I first saw this video and I don't think I would be able to learn standup slides as quickly as I did if it were not for this video. Thanks a lot!
to all those people out there that can't slide, make sure you have sliding wheels! can't stress that enough! secondly, if you know someone that is able to slide pretty well, ask them to do 20-30 slides on YOUR board is they're able to do so. this is exactly what i did. the reason I'm telling you to do this is that when your friend CORRECTLY slides on your board, it wears down the wheels and makes them more susceptible to going into a slide due to the wearing of the outer coat of plastic. i could do a 180 5 seconds after my friend got off of it! trust me, i can do a slide anytime, anywhere on those wheels now and I'm getting better and better! and it is easy AF now for me! ;) have fun!
Best how-to movie so far! It takes in discussion one issue with which I am confronting and in none of those I have watched till now is mentioned. Cheers!
This actually helped my friends and i with this type of slide thank you guys so much for the demonstration and actually giving out the right tips to make us confident
Thanks so much I got a cheap sector 9 eyedropper for Christmas and this year I wanted to learn how to actually do slides on it and this video really helped. Best trick tip on RUclips!
180 yourself back around is easier than learning how to learn both sided boarding. so to explain this further. you stand on the ground and jump in the air and spin 180 degrees. i hope i explained that well. im not trying to be an ass. thats the best way i can explain it. i hope i helped
You can even put one foot down after sliding and pivot back to your normal position. Practice riding in different positions, longboards have a huge deck, you can literally ride down the street and walk in circles on your board, or even stand facing backwards, anything to help build balance.
I recently just bought a sector 9 striker from the sidewinder series, and I know they're made for cruising/freestyle and some mellow hills, but I can still slide on it right? I like speed, so if I ever do take on downhill (as stupid as it would be) I'd need to know how to slide and stop myself.
What helped me learn heelside 180s is do like a ? and as your turning into the question mark swing your whole body around. Like stand still and try to just do a 180 without jumping. It becomes easier swinging your whole body.
I ride the z-flex street rocket. Is that good for down hill? It does pretty well and is amazing with sliding! Was the board made for downhill and crusing?
Hey , I did more research and I'm actually riding the z-skate. It was made for every day uses from trans port to down hill bombing . However this thing is not made to go down at like 60mph , but can be used for downhill . I like it (sorry for bad grammar)
do you want to have your trucks loose or tight when you slide? also on my board I have "Wide-Lip 70-by-51-millimeter super high rebound (SHR) urethane wheels" (whatever those are (i just copy and pasted)) do you think those wheels are any good for sliding?
Hey thanks for helping me! I have softer wheels and i was like i will never learn how to slide and then i looked this up and watched and was like DAYUM im gonna try! after 2-3 hours i had it down! thanks guys i busted my ass a few times but i have it! Thanks bruh bruh. Btw i have a santa cruz lion god dropthrou
Im doing the set up carlv and putting pretty much all of my weight on the front foot and im going at a good pace down the hill. I was trying this today and I snapped the bearing on the back right weel. Is this normal? My weeks are orangatang, stimulus. 70mm, 42mm and the board is Loaded caviche. Some one please help me!
Does it matter how tight or loose your trucks are when you are first starting. I have had fairly loose trucks when trying to slide and I end up just kinda grab rail and put my glove on the ground and just carve into it. Any help? (Coleman slide)
lose trucks are good to het into the slide but when you want to stop the slide its hard to find the right balance with hard trucks its harder to get into the slide but its better to find your right balance when the slide stops so you have to know what's better for yourself:) I hope I helped you!
i like you guys you're funny and credible! its great. im definitely a beginner and learning a lot still. and getting my new apex 40 soon :D so ill keep practicing and try to do this shit O_o hahaha oki bye
FliM FloM stoked on that board selection. Let us know how that board board treats you when / if you end up getting it. The DD is one of my favorites for slide initiation / teaching riders.
Everytime I even get close to kicking the board out it just comes back and I can't hold it. What should I do? I can kick it like three inches and I've been practicing for about 3 hours a day I still suck.
your wheels may have a roll in the grippy-ness. keep at it. My last skate session i said i gave up cause I couldn't get them and was mad. The next session I did it, looked at videos and did 10 foot heelsides that day.
The wheels are fine. Maybe a little more speed and a little more pressure with your feet. ive you get a feel for it once you will fuck shit up with these wheels
***** Bin mit 30 kmh gegen nen Laster gefahren und lieg mit Gehirnerschütterung und platzwunde am kopf im krankenhaus^^ Ist aber nich so schlimm. Bin immer mit Schmerzmitteln zugedröhnt:D
I NEED ADVICE... I have been longboarding for a while and snowboarding for over 5 years, I am comfortable on a board. I have been trying to get into sliding for a while now, as i found out it is rather hard to stop when you bomb hills at 30/40kmp. and recently I found the problem is mainly in the board. At the moment I have sector9 78A biothane soy wheels and my board is a 40" mama say sector9 pintail. Im looking at purchasing a landyachtz tomahawk but I don't want to jump into it. Any advice??
Yeah that's what I was thinking. I got the whole skill meaning you could slide on anything, but if you're just starting out it seems impractical to use soft wheels.
Don't be afraid to fall bro, Helmet, knee guards, slide gloves. If your going to fall, just get your pads to the road, and you should be fine. Losing a bit of skin is all a part of the process man.
this video's got a chill vibe
It's been about a year since I first saw this video and I don't think I would be able to learn standup slides as quickly as I did if it were not for this video. Thanks a lot!
The guy on the right is cold af lol
ByyChase lmao
Mum: wear a jacket its cold
Me: i will be just fine , just stop . I can protect myself

this is the best heelside 180 tutorial on youtube. this video (and my friend constantly pushing me) taught me heelside 180s. thanks
Thanks so much I got a cheap sector 9 eyedropper for Christmas and this year I wanted to learn how to actually do slides on it and this video really helped. Best trick tip on RUclips!
Oh my gosh you guys are amazing!!!! I just followed all of the steps and did my first slide!!!! Thank you so much!

Thanks guys, this taught me how to slide easily!
I love the guy on the right. Haha humble vibes.
You guys seem almost comically awkward in this video but this has gotta be the best slide tutorial Ive come across yet, thank you so much!
cheers guys your advise worked the best i have seen so far :) keep up the good work
This tutorial was actually pretty sick! I still have to go out and actually try it but it seems legit. Can you guys please make a coleman tutorial?
Problem is, i cant ride once i do a 180*. Mostly because i can only ride a longboard on one side, not both..
180 yourself back around is easier than learning how to learn both sided boarding. so to explain this further. you stand on the ground and jump in the air and spin 180 degrees. i hope i explained that well. im not trying to be an ass. thats the best way i can explain it. i hope i helped

Only if i could do that, if i tried I'd probably kick my board out with my front foot and send it shooting down the street >.
You can even put one foot down after sliding and pivot back to your normal position. Practice riding in different positions, longboards have a huge deck, you can literally ride down the street and walk in circles on your board, or even stand facing backwards, anything to help build balance.
DRcatscratch Practice just riding switch...thats what i did now i can push switch and all that jazz...i just need to practice switch sliding
If you can't ride both ways then kick with your normal foot and let your other foot slide into normal position.
2:00 the one on the right is like "ok wind, you beat me."
I finally know the backround song :D

thanks guys it really helped me! Best video i've seen!
I can do up to step 3, but I find doing step 4 to the end harder. Tips? This vid was really helpful!
What song is this? Super chill. & thanks for the tut!
well thanks man, now I can enjoy the concrete taste :)
Everyone makes it look so easy. Oh well time to fall!!
I'll be the happiest girl ever when I finally get this
What helped me learn heelside 180s is do like a ? and as your turning into the question mark swing your whole body around. Like stand still and try to just do a 180 without jumping. It becomes easier swinging your whole body.
Thanks, I was trying to slide like a normal flip board xD
Thank you guys for all the help
I found this video very helpfull thanks so much guys
Thanks for the tutorial, going to try this tomorrow!
Thanks. This was pretty helpful.
I ride the z-flex street rocket. Is that good for down hill? It does pretty well and is amazing with sliding! Was the board made for downhill and crusing?
RenagzyFX I got the Z-Flex Kicktail :)
The board was made for cruising only, no downhill intended at all
Adrian Amador who? Me or him?
Hey , I did more research and I'm actually riding the z-skate. It was made for every day uses from trans port to down hill bombing . However this thing is not made to go down at like 60mph , but can be used for downhill . I like it (sorry for bad grammar)
this vid helped a bunch but what was the second song cause it sounds chill for an edit
this video really helped me do my first speed check, not 180, i need to be able to contol the speed check first I think. Thanks tho
The white thing on top? That's a Roger Bros. footstop, gives you some pushing leverage and something to dig your feet into for that extra lock.
Hah! Gheeeeyyy! Naa justkidding.
Dope video yo. It's off the chain. Super good instructions and explainations. Max be falling and shiiet. Dooooe.
Thanks for helping me with this video :)
do you want to have your trucks loose or tight when you slide? also on my board I have "Wide-Lip 70-by-51-millimeter super high rebound (SHR) urethane wheels" (whatever those are (i just copy and pasted)) do you think those wheels are any good for sliding?
thanks Winston Frazer. I had some extra time and learned more about my wheels. They are 78a. thanks again for the help
1:35 Goodnight =)
Feel it out, just go for it
I ride a atom 41 inch drop through longboard with 0 concave is that good for sliding standing up?
i have no idea why I found that so freaking funny XD
Hey guys, so I can do 180s and checks, but I can't seem to hold out a slide then bring it back to regular without going 180. advice?
Thank you, I hope this will help me out. ^_^
Great song! Oh and cool tutorial.
What camera are you using? It looks nice.
Hey thanks for helping me! Thanks bruh bruh. Btw i have a santa cruz lion god dropthrou
Nice camera which one were you using?
I know nickel boards aren't mean for downhill but are u still able to slide?
What’s your setup? Caliber baseplate angle ?
Im doing the set up carlv and putting pretty much all of my weight on the front foot and im going at a good pace down the hill. I was trying this today and I snapped the bearing on the back right weel. Is this normal?
My weeks are orangatang, stimulus. 70mm, 42mm and the board is Loaded caviche.
Some one please help me!
You guys are funny :D
Thx for the good vid.
what wheels do you recommend if I want to slide with little effort and speed?
Does it matter how tight or loose your trucks are when you are first starting. I have had fairly loose trucks when trying to slide and I end up just kinda grab rail and put my glove on the ground and just carve into it. Any help? (Coleman slide)
lose trucks are good to het into the slide but when you want to stop the slide its hard to find the right balance
with hard trucks its harder to get into the slide but its better to find your right balance when the slide stops
so you have to know what's better for yourself:)
I hope I helped you!
A great tutorial thanks 🙏
nice tutorial, what song is in the background?

i like you guys you're funny and credible! its great. im definitely a beginner and learning a lot still. and getting my new apex 40 soon :D so ill keep practicing and try to do this shit O_o hahaha oki bye
FliM FloM stoked on that board selection. Let us know how that board board treats you when / if you end up getting it. The DD is one of my favorites for slide initiation / teaching riders.
Yes. It will seem difficult at first but once you break your wheels in it will get easier :)
thanks guys! i can now do the 180 heel! could you do a toe slide please?
WHOOO. GO SEATTLE AND MOTION BOARDSHOP!
Thanks Guys, very helpful
Everytime I even get close to kicking the board out it just comes back and I can't hold it. What should I do? I can kick it like three inches and I've been practicing for about 3 hours a day I still suck.
your wheels may have a roll in the grippy-ness. keep at it. My last skate session i said i gave up cause I couldn't get them and was mad. The next session I did it, looked at videos and did 10 foot heelsides that day.
turn your shoulders more turn hard in to it and when your done turning kinda crouch for a sec so your wheight evens out
How would you suggest fixing the pivot sliding mistake when you said some people keep their feet over the trucks?
Thanks so much for this, can do a 180 heel but can you do a vid on toe side slide plz, thanks again
Whats the best slide wheels? I have some Zombie hawgs 82a snd i cannot slide with them!
The wheels are fine. Maybe a little more speed and a little more pressure with your feet. ive you get a feel for it once you will fuck shit up with these wheels

Right guy looks like vanoss...

Nice editing 👍
