Just discovered your videos, and I find them very entertaining during the norwegian winter. Planning a trip to England in April, so I`m using your videos as part of my research. Over here all the rivers are covered in ice for a couple of months. Thight lines!
The red tag from your box tied on the top dropper is my preferred grayling fly by a mile. No offense, but I'm glad a pro like you gets snagged as much as me!
Great video again sir 8 fish in a couple of hours is good going most people would be happy with that in a full day's fishing never tried that style of fishing for trout and grayling but will definitely give it a try this season
Iain Fraser - as always a super interesting and informative video. I love grayling fishing but living in Essex we have no rivers with grayling so all my river fishing requires a long stay - I belong to a club in North Yorkshire so fish the Swale and Ure. Keep up the good work and look forward to your next video.
I’m going out on my local river Sunday (The Severn) I’m going to give that ago with the fly chance great idea mate. All the best guys looking forward to you both doing a challenge again love it 👌🏼🤣🎣
Well done. I've never found the Red Tag to be all that great TBH. A shorter rod wouldn't go amiss on there. It may be a good thing to review an 8-9' #2 for nymphing on small streams.
@@IBandAndyFishing if it is still in production Hanak do a 9’ 2# with a step up section to 9’6”. I have the Czech nymph champion 3# 9’/ 9’6”/10’/10’6” with two step up sections, nice rods.👍
Hi bud, we tend not to give away locations on our videos unless the club/landowner has asked us to, the locals wouldn't be impressed if we put their secret spots all over the internet! I guess the thing is there are lots of little streams like this all over the UK, they just need to be explored....
Andy ive got a question ive just ordered a vision ultra light nymphing fly line could i attach a french leader straight to that...or would i have to use a tappered leader ?
Okay thanks andy the only reason i asked is because i saw a video on fly tv where their using the nymphing fly line with a tappered leader down to the indicator and followed by the tippet.
Andy, do yourself a favour and order another butt section for the rod. Then get a rod maker to convert that section (or your older butt section) into a short section consisting of just a (new) handle with just enough blank above the grip to be the ferrule. This will result in a 1 foot new butt section that you can use to replace your normal butt section to have a 1 + 3x2.5 = 8.5ft rod for use when a 10ft is too long. You can easily carry the extra butt section in the tube and even on the river with you if only some sections of the river are too small to use the 10ft full rod. The shorter rod is also 1/2 to 1 full weight "lighter" when it comes to fishing. I do this on a number of my rods where replacement butt sections are reasonably available.
Give it a try - you will not be unhappy. I have a 8 1/2ft which coverts to a 7 1/4ft for the smallest of stuff (doesn't get used much but I have it). A 10ft "3wt" Nymphmaniac (which is a true 2wt) which coverts to an 8 1/2ft very much a 2wt. And now an 11ft 4" XO Graphene 3wt is being done which should end up as a convertible 9 1/2ft 2/3wt. The 10ft 3wt Hero is a true 2/3wt to start with so the conversion to an 8 1/2ft will firmly put it into 2wt territory and will be ideal for small pokey stuff without you having to need to carry another rod along. www.truites-et-cie.fr/article/materiel/mouche/test-vision-nymph-hero-10-3
@@IBandAndyFishing Hello IB and Andy Great fishing video I am hoping to start Carp fishing in June when I get my licence hoping I can send you some photos of the carp I catch
OK so maybe I overestimated a little. I'm due to fish for Grayling on the Dove a little upstream of Rochester next Friday. Your nymph patterns have given me a few ideas to try
Just start watching. And put comment I think 5 nymphs is OK. Main Red tag my favourite. In Avon I don't Change this lovely nymph for 4-5 hours they brilliant. Good lack . Continue now watching 👀
sorry, I never seen anything like that before. The place you're fishing at is just awful. Check out fishing at Abakan river somewhere in russia. wild nature, pure cristal clear water, and fish.
@@IBandAndyFishing I'd prefer others to watch YBS Youngbloods and think of fishing as of something really exciting. Was thinking of doing similar just to get confidence in other flies rather than sometimes flogging the same patterns, great work .
I’m late to the party but I reckon, knowing you, that it will be 10! It looks beautiful there.

I could find a snag in a bath tub bud, they call me Snaggy Thatcher!
Great video, super way to spend the afternoon while the car was in for MOT!!
thanks Robert, passed a few hours didn't it?!
Great challenge 7flies
A wonderful watch
Thanks Adrian, much appreciated!

Hi, Andy.
I have a question about your set up. Which reel are you using I think it is a scierra traxion 1 LW? I have got the same rod. Thanks.
It's a traxion 1 LW 3/4 yes!
@@IBandAndyFishing thanks Andy
Do we have to wait for a revieeeew teeewsday for your opinion on the vision hero?
Coming very soon!
maybe you should have used the Pink Rod 🤣 Its amazing whats in some of these small streams/rivers
yes, that needs to get used this spring!
Andy ive got a question ive just ordered a vision ultra light nymphing fly line could i attach a french leader straight to that...or would i have to use a tappered leader ?
Hi Jamie, so with a euro fly line you wouldn't use a French leader or a tapered leader, you'd just fish your rig off the end of the euro line 👍
Okay thanks andy the only reason i asked is because i saw a video on fly tv where their using the nymphing fly line with a tappered leader down to the indicator and followed by the tippet.
