I have seen quite a few of them near my appartment west of Paris at the forest nearby. I have been told this is a sign of high quality environment and clean water.
where in germany was this, i would love to take my kids herping and show them. we came over from australia where my kids would go herping all the time, now we have moved here to germany we dont see anything cool.
Why the f did you touch them? Why did you put them in a bucket? Now we have Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans in Germany. Seeing people like you, handling them, collecting them in a bucket, knowing you keep some as pets and that you are dutch, where almost all of them were wiped out by this fungus... it makes me sick. I really hope you bought your pets in a pet store and didn't collect them in the wild, it is forbidden. I mean why do walk through a forrest and collect them in a bucket? You are obviously not helping them over a street. This video makes me quite suspicious.
You should nog handle salamanders! Not only for your safety but for theirs as well. They have very sensitive skin and any remains of the chemicals you come in touch with can cause serious infections to them.
Beste, we maken voor VTM NIEUWS een reportage over een schimmelziekte die de vuursalamanders bedreigt. Zouden we jullie prachtige beelden mogen gebruiken voor deze reportage?
There are subspecies that have a lot of red in them, like the Salamandra salamandra morenica. This is the terrestris and there are albino or leusistic terrestris and terrestris where the yellow is red or orange. They are all bred in captivity
Warum sammelst du sie ein? Das ist verboten und auch nicht gesund für die Tiere, es ist schon verboten diese zu berühren. Was du da machst ist grausam 🙈🙈🙈
Apparently there have been sightings of these in the UK. I've never found any here tho, they'd do well over here in the wild lol. I bought mine from the pet store they were like 35 pounds each what a rip off I think I'll hop over to Europe if I need anymore next time lol. I'm hoping to breed to ones I bought. Who knows the pet shops probably have people catching them to order.
Aerobix chytridiomycosis induced by batrachochytrium dendrobatidis. Hyperkeratinisation and inhibited electrolye and respiration functioning. 43% of amphibians threataned.
Yeah they are poisonous, so avoid touching your eyes/mouth after handling them and wash your hands afterwards. If you're to rough with them they can exude a milky fluid through their poison glands
Hey i bet that the people at underground reptiles would be willing to buy a buttload of those little guys..... I'm just sayin you could make a little bit of money to fund your expeditions :-) cheers
@reptilemaniac, in case you don't know, that is a criminal ofense. To capture wild animals ( either for sale or to keep as pets ) and/or incitating the capture of wild animals to sell or for the pet trade is a criminal ofense. FYI, fire salamanders and all reptile and amphibian species in Europe are protected by law. So, what you just said can worth a fine of thousands of euros or even get you setenced to jail.
Awesome video, great night observations. Beautiful salamanders.
Thank you

Nice salamanders!
Thanks man :)
Did you keep them
If nobody answered you it's probably because no one wants to openly admit that they keep it as pets - which is a criminal ofense.

In which forest in germany did you find these?
OMG great find man they are quite common here in Bulgaria
Thanks man! Unfortunately here in the Netherlands they are (nearly) extinct, but in Germany just over the border they are plentiful :)

Eshcar Kapoya can they cause real problem for humans ??
there is a lot of these salamander in france, in the wood. But it's forbiden to capture it and breeding it.
+UN BRETON AU PAYS DE SION you can buy them in the pet store
weapons and other things No, forbiden to sell and breed ^^
+UN BRETON AU PAYS DE SION It is not breedable in captivity. No one has ever succeeded at it.
+lycurgusthelawgiver fire salamanders are one of the easiest salamander species to breed in captivity. I know many people who have done it .
+Aleksej Spasevski It is my understanding that salamanders of all types do not take well to captivity and should not be removed from the wild.
I am just wondering if the fire Salamander is protected by the EU or not, if anyone knows please let me know
super protected you actually aren't even allowed to touch it

Uitslover;)
Lovely creatures. I'm creating a set up to keep these. Do they only come in Yellow/Black?
David Harrison shouldn't be kept as pets
+Xavier Mahele .Why? They are kept as pets & do well.

It's NOT FINE to keep animals caught in the wild as pets.
Waar was het in duitslands
Amazing! I would love to be a caretaker of one these but they are almost impossible to find and always sold out.lol

Kevin anything no pet shops are legally required to supply only captibe bread animals. No wild caught
The Salamandra needs our help ! Google for "Bsal" skin-fungus that kills these lovely animals.

Sad to hear..did not know this disease is threating that many aphibs.

the last time I touched a Fire Salamander I felt very sick
Yeah they are poisonous, so avoid touching your eyes/mouth after handling them and wash your hands afterwards. If you're to rough with them they can exude a milky fluid through their poison glands
now the Bsal is comimg and they will die all...
That is wrong why would you take them out of the wild
Hey i bet that the people at underground reptiles would be willing to buy a buttload of those little guys..... I'm just sayin you could make a little bit of money to fund your expeditions :-) cheers
thereptilemaniac Idiot!!
these are amphibians, not reptiles 😂
