- Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan clashed with Evgeny Popov during an interview in which the Russian MP discussed Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
Mr Popov denied both that Russia was losing the war in Ukraine and that Moscow had invaded the nation.
It’s difficult to win an argument against a clever person, but it’s impossible to win an argument against an idiot.

Russia didn't invade. They were invited in by the post Maidan coup, newly recognized breakaway republics of Donbas to help defend themselves. Like we invaded Yugoslavia and recognized Kosovo indpendence. So what's your problem? What don't you get? That's the way Russia sees it. You might not agree with it, but it should be obvious by now Russia doesn't give a crap what we think. Ukraine had 8 years to have Donbas back wihtout a shot fired, but hated their own ethnic Russian citizens so much they preferred this. A monumental blunder by monumental fools.

The invasion was prompted by NATO inching so close to Russia (braking NATO's promise to Russia), that US nukes launched from Ukraine would reach Russia in minutes against which is impossible to defend (the war in Ukraine is the inverse of the Cuban missile crisis). This and the Ukrainian Russian's non existent minority rights is why Russia invaded. This Russia bad Ukraine good propaganda from the west is just like old anti western communist propaganda from the times of soviet oppression in my country. I am in Odesa providing humanitarian assistance to IDPs. I arrived here in May last year. I have come to loathe Putin for the pain he has caused. I’ve heard many personal accounts of murder, callous brutality and inhuman behaviour by Russian soldiers. I have learnt to abhor Russian lies and deceit. My admiration for Ukrainians has only grown over the last year.. I am proud of the assistance Britain is providing to Ukraine to defend itself.

Japanese folks are so tough and honorable, even after the emperor announced surrender, the last Japanese person to surrender was in 1974.
He fought on for almost 30 years because he was deep in the jungle and didn't know they had surrendered.
Him and the few like him would steal food to survive, eat wild animals, etc.
Instead of surrender; he and others like him spent anywhere from 1 year to 30 years waiting for the enemy. They survived on bare necessity.
After one decade, two decades, and even three decades, they didn't surrender. They didn't venture far from their defensive position, and they never gave up.
Had we not nuked and fire bombed them, it would've been pure hell.

It's very simple, listen. It's a military operation whose only objective is to remove Kiev's illegal and anti human rights government for reasons A, B and C which I won't explain now but I can later if you want. The objective of any invasion is to permanently seize the territory, which is not the case here since Putin was very clear that they wipe Zelensky and his friends and only then they leave.
Also you have no idea of the numbers, what you suggest ''roughly 125,000 Russian soldiers in Ukraine'' shows total lack of knowledge since they have right know 500k troops inside Ukraine and 180k in Belarus. You cannot maintain the extense frontline with just 125k troops, that's absurd.
Of casualties I won't speak because both sides will enlarge the enemy casualties and reduce the own, but I can see the Ukranians are reinforcing their brigades up to 50% with movilized peoples with 2 weeks of shooting, and this tells all I need to know.

I see comments saying that he never gave him a chance to speak. He did, but he was also trying to keep him in the present and focused on the conversation at hand, not on a conversation about Iraq or Georgia. In Donbass before 2014 there were 54% Ukrainian speaking people and 46% Russian speaking people so the 54% Ukrainian speaking population were a majority and would never have voted to separate. The vote is illegal in the first place but this just proves that the Russian Fed did all the bullshit votes in the first place. Crimea belonged to the Russian Empire , not the Russian territory which was only a part of the Russian Empire. Ukraine was a major part of the Russian Empire from before 1781 when Crimea was first annexed. Only in 1921 was Crimea attached to the Russian SSR until 1954 when it was attached to the Ukraine SSR and now for 68 years compared to only 33 years under Russian SSR. So Ukraine has a much greater historical claim on Crimea also. This just shows you how much Putin's media has skewed the truth of history and current events. Total BS. These shows have a limited amount of time, so when the person you are interviewing is saying completely utter nonsense it's no longer about 'dumping what he believes' he's dumping what is real.
