One of my favorite things about textile arts is that so much of it is the same no matter when and where you are. Measuring out the warp, getting it on the loom, painstaking but loving work I aspire to weave cloth half so lovely one day. Thank you for sharing

I went to a living museum about ramie fabric in Korea once! They call it moshi (모시) there, I believe! Mostly only old ladies know how to do it now - I watched some of them! In Korea it’s traditional to separate the strands with your teeth - they said it’s the most efficient way to do it! But I worried about fiber splinters in my lips!
I’ve wanted to learn how to make linen and….. much like everything worthwhile in life, takes a great deal more effort than I had anticipated. The level of focus and patience to weave those threads of linen together. I couldn’t do it.
