I still have 4 other songs from the set to edit and post but just hadn't had the time with work. But the UAW is on strike so I might have some free time to get some more of the edits done. I'm way behind on the Rammstein edit but I think I'll take a break on that to revist Joe first.
One of top 3 performances I have seen by Joe, the back-up singers, and band members. Drummer's choices were perfect. The single camera wide shots combined with selective focus continuous edits are top drawer. Outstanding.
Thanks. It was a challenge to edit in post to kill the camera shake and hide the stutter and jumps from zooming in and out. I prefer to have 2 cams so I have the option to transition to the backup cam if I'm hitting some choppiness on my main, or if I gotta swap batteries. But I had to stick with the one cam due to restrictions at the venue. This one came out pretty good. Check out my other Bonamassa edit on my channel. I got a great bit with a closeup on his guitar solo with some slick motion tracking. For the initial bit I transition to sepia and then bleed back out to color as he really gets rolling.

His live shows can vary in quality by the amount he's been drinking, but mostly just from slurring his lines. He seems to be on the money with the guitar no matter how much he drinks.

I try to add captions in when possible. It can be hard when singers like Joe switch up the lyrics sometimes. He was drinking pretty heavy that night and I'm certain he switched our slurred some words. I put in what it sounded like he was saying rather than what the lyric should have been.
I loved this song. Probably my favorite from this set. Maybe in my top 10 favorite Joe songs now. But most of the ones I wanted to hear weren't on this setlist. Just gives me another reason to buy a ticket the next time he comes through.

He played mostly songs I'm not familiar with at this venue. All still great, but I was really jonsing for Slow Gin, So Many Roads, or John Henry. Self Inflicted Wounds was a surprising treat for me. Great song.
I love Bonamassa but no other artist has captured that sentiment better than Ren. This performance is an emotional roller coaster and I definitely urge you to watch it start to finish. He will surprise you with his singularly amazing talent to not just deliver lyrics but to deliver a scene with fully realized characters. I didnt know what to expect from this relatively unknown indie but damn...he deserves a Grammy and an Oscar for this video. Rammstein will always be my favorite big venue concerts but Bonamassa is easily my all time favorite small to mid venue performer.

I had to look back at my mp3 files. From the Redemption album of 2018, I thought it might have been something new. Not one I've listened to a lot.

This song is good 👍 those two songs I heard he was probably pressured to write...those songs always turn out...not as you expected.
