This makes me sad. I yearn for this beauty in the liturgy even though I wasn’t around back in v2

For the life of me I cannot possibly comprehend the mindset of the Church when they allowed the Latin Liturgy to die in favour of vernacular. The composition of such brilliant settings as this does my heart good to listen to. Not that English cannot be set to chant or polyphony, but it seems Anglicans cornered that market and Rome just went with beebop and kumbaya.

This is one of the most beautiful arrangements for Gregorian Chant I've ever heard. My parish's music director is planning on purchasing it, and I'm wondering if you have similar fauxbourdon arrangements for all 8 modes? It's been a dream of mine to be able to at least incorporate the basic form of this medieval sound for 2 or 3 voices, for the verses and gloria patri's in the mass, just as you've done.
She has music theory training, but I don't, so forgive me if my question is off-base.

Thank you for you kind words! They mean a lot. Yes, I have all 8 Ecclesiastical modes to be used for either Communio or Magnificat Fauxbourdons. I'm in the process of completing the liturgical year. I currently have Tone 2, 5, 6, and 7 (for 3 equal voices) recorded and posted on my youtube channel. Here's tone 6 for the Nuptial Mass: ruclips.net/video/h3lK7cjplcs/видео.html Hopefully, I'll have the others in the coming months. I also have a set of Gloria Patri's for SATB choir for all 8 modes, which are designed to be sung as the final doxology before the repeat of any antiphon sung with psalmody. You can find a piano rendering of mode 4 here: ruclips.net/video/j5q2dLXffx0/видео.html Thanks again for your interest in my compositional work! All the best to you and your choir. ~nl
