Blue lake was so Diferent , primitive, spiritual. Really nice and clean. I loved it. The album is nice too. I am always loking for diferent and no popular things. There are so much music and so many wonderful composers around the world that one just didnt know them. Thanks for sharing this album.
I am always searching. This album means so much to me. If you have the time I would recommend some Joanna Brouk or some Psi Psonics or whatever is your thing. Peace in this world is is what we need.
I haven’t heard this album in so many years, thank you very much! Dollar & Okay’s Tunes are what turned me on to Don Cherry back when I was 17 and heard that entire piece uninterrupted on a college radio station and it was one of the most important life changing moments I’d ever had. Dollar Brand’s Ancient Africa (the very long song, not the album similarly titled) is very reminiscent of the early piano melodies being played here only as a solo performance and much more intense.
@@mario7frankielee yes I had a drink and a little hash with Johnny, Dudu Pukwana at a gig here in Manchester, we were all sat in a little group during the set break, wonderful memories of these great guys ( Dudu and Johnny argued alot but it was all good lol)
People say that about me sometimes I'd rather be called rosewater because I do my best to rise up and wash away anything that doesn't smell so good and Don Cherry definitely achieves that level ❤ rest in peace Don Cherry and mad love and ultimate respect to Moki, who in the words of Hamid Drake if she had been born into a man's body would have got more respect for her Musical and artistic Talent than she ever did as a woman..... rest in peace Moki ❤
I think the great John Fahey would never agree which such a statement. The fact must be that you simply don't like this record, which is fine. But don't you dare say this music has no soul nor heart. Don't you dare. Love, my friend.

So great to hear the wonderful bassist Johnny Dyani in this context.
johnny was in the late sixties in zürich and played there in a club called „ africana“

What is the song at 46:20???
No more musical than a never-ending super-shredding guitar solo. Amazing they can do it, but... No rhythm, no soul, no heart
No heart? Wow.
@@kidwithawhip9385 No soul?
@@brotherrabbit8539 exactly.
I dont think this man has any
