Would've liked to have seen integrated solar panels in the roof & an induction hob. It's OK as a weekend van but I wouldn't want to spend much longer than that in it. Would definitely go for the hybrid.
Very true, shame really as I think the new kitchen is a great idea, the table and chair storage is pretty cool but too much of a squeeze for a couple to sleep in, unless of course you have one up and one down
This is the coast model, do you know if the Ocean has two burners or if that is still only one? Still feel like the storage is not sufficient compared to earlier models but will be good to see in person.
The old cali has 30l fresh water tank,so this new one is smaller! Losing storage and a burner also. Does the roof leak in the rain like the new 6.1 does?
It will be a pain going around the back in the rain to access the table stored under the bed extension. Could VW put it back in the sliding door as on the T6.1? The bed appears to be too long and leaves insufficient space for a portable toilet to fit between it and the front seats turned around. At 1.98m they could reduce it to 1.85m. And finally the two seat arrangement. I can see the advantage in taking one out to get more floor storage but I would prefer a single seat with the large drawer and attached toolbox as on the T6.1. And 4-Motion needs to be available on the petrol and diesel models. Preferably with diff-lock.
could it be that vw sees this as a weekender vehicle and pushes people towards thar grand california when they are looking for a camper that can be used for 2-"3 weeks?
Not enough storage space and only one burner, very limiting, looks like the boot too low to put in a porta potti, clearly VW don’t expect owners to spend more than a weekend in the vehicle.
VW, what's wrong with you? Why do you make cars that people don't like? Did you ask people when you decided to ditch the T6.1 and make that T7 look, ie a bigger Sharan? You couldn't just improve and upgrade the T6.1, did you have to remove it?

Looks a bit of a downgrade to me. Narrower beds, one burner hob, no bench seat, less storage. Maybe ok for 1 person, 2 max.

I wish it came with a double frnt seat and a full galley with two burners instead of two sliding doors.

Did you forget to tell us ( or I didn't hear) if it has hot water for the kitchen and shower?

What is the difference between Ocean and Coast?

This never gonna make to the US, right?
Can the new model also have a suspension lift installed like the previous version? How good is the new version on rough roads?
No bathroom is a major problem
The new Mercedes Marco Polo will have to go some to be more desirable than this, in my opinion. I couldn't spec a van to better suit my needs
I bought the new MP, its just for to sleep over, nothing more. This one, with smaller kitchen is down grade of excisting one.

Its not T7, they selled that to Ford. This is on car platform.
I dont know any beach that allows vehicles to drive on
Weston super mare 😂
You need to come to Ireland then!
Or Australia
There are plenty in the UK, you’re just not looking hard enough lol 😂
Yes this is a very cool van indeed well done VW 👍
Disappointed! to much electric crap, no bench seat. Crappy fridge if it’s anything like the grand California. All in all won’t be considering this.
