Although you're not wrong, I think it mainly boils down to events progressively getting worse. I took a few years off, and I'm mainly focusing on meta mons/getting pvp mons so honestly this event is whatever for me, I don't love it I don't hate it. I'll play, but I'm not gonna go CRAZY, or get upset about it like some do. While some players, especially more casual ones/f2p players LOVE the holiday events because if gives them that extra bonus without having to pay. I can understand the frustration, but can't relate to it, if that makes sense.

There is only so much they can do, especially if they want to keep it on theme. Costume pokemon that can actually evolve is leaps and bounds better than what we have gotten in the past. If you get the Rowlet or Froakie with good IVs or shiny you should sit on it till Dec Comm day so it gets the community day move upon evolution. 2-3x catch candy is always good. Candy isn't the main driver any more but there are always collection challenges where you have to evolve stuff so its nice to have a surplus. Part 1 with Morpeko's debut, shiny odds boosted Zarua and opportunities for spiritomb is better than part 2 but there shouldn't be anything to actively complain about. The thing about the online community is they don't think about other players before complaining. If you just started this game in 2024 and you are between level 20-30, maybe you want cute costume pokemon since you don't have any. Maybe you need all the extra candy you can get for every pokemon because you haven't seen that many. When someone is between level 40-50 and all they do is complain about every event because its not something new for them, and its not what they are looking for in the game, they should probably be ignored. Let the newbies have some fun events to continue to build a bigger Pogo community. There is always a new batch of players and quite frankly we need them as interested as possible in this game to keep it around for years to come.
With all these costume Pokemon/ Dynamax pokemon going to need more storage here again. I'm currently trying to get Hundo Costume Vulpix/Ninetales and Shiny Zorua. As far as Gigatamax raids go not sure if I will be able to do it with lack of players.
It's pokemon you used to get for free now if you want them you got to pay... I'm good not a big costume collector my only wants... Is shiny spirtomb and also shiny zarura really all that excites me with this event but I'm sure I'll probably buy the 5$ research cause why not... Then ill just focus on doing 3 raids and try to stack those researches up hopefully they are not super rare researches to find...

I'm not sure I'd say it is a big disappointment because it seems most players are in general disappointed with the events in the game as well as with the game itself in many aspects. Still can only trade locally Even having a lucky trade doesn't allow long distance trading Remote pass daily limit Increased remote pass cost High tier raids being nearly unplayable for large chunks of the playerbase due to not having groups Shadow raids don't allow remote Elite raids don't allow remote The entirety of dmax/gmax Raid passes are used up even if you fail to win Even if you spent money on your raid pass and win you aren't guaranteed the catch Constant push for more microtransactions Kneecapping the capabilities of the go++ and other bluetooth devices for no real reason Changes to battling that affects the strength of mons in raids which is going to specifically hit the pokemon you invested the most time/candy/rarecandy/stardust into There are a lot of issues so I don't think the pushback and dislike for the event is really anything outside the norm

Me too. I was forced to buddy a charmander just for candies but its still too slow. That's why doing gigantamax raids is very difficult, both short in candies to power up and people to do the gmax raids with

Beldum just had a Community Day Classic and the Galar starters have been spawning for a good while now. Unfortunate if you like Kanto starters, but there is absolutely enough candy to power up good Max Mons.

I use to love pogo but now I can barely bring my self to play any more. I don't even bother with the daily streaks half the time.
