  • This video demonstrates the heat transfer process of Conduction through an exciting experiment. We have a metal spoon, a candle, a matchbox, and some paperclips or common pins for this experiment.
    We can observe that the paperclip closest to the candle flame drops down, and subsequently, the other clips start falling one by one. As the heat of the flame travels along, it heats the atoms or particles of metal that the spoon is made up of. This melts the wax causing the clips to fall. As the clips fall, the heat transfers to the next particle of the metal and then to the next, finally reaching the last clip, where it melts the wax again, making the last clip to fall.
    Hence, we observed how heat transfer takes place through the process of Conduction.

    Heat transfer on pins fixed on a metal rod and placed near a source of heat
