This set happened the same day my wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Doctors told her she has a 1 year life expectancy. I never listened to country or knew who Eric Church was until she introduced me to him. Our 1st date was at his concert way up in the nosebleeds and she invited me herself. Ever since then we started a family , have 3 beautiful girls and have been front row at Eric Church 2 other times. I guess you can say this set was a blessing which we never expected.I cried through the whole set , it was a prayer we needed through his music. So powerful. She is currently fighting and the strongest person I've ever met in my life. Still going about being a great mom like nothing happened. The best thing Ive ever done in my life was accept that date. It has changed my life forever. Thank you Gen. Thank you Eric. We will get through this. I love you

I would have sacrificed my soul for this set at stagecoach. I'm personally offended that people did not take a moment to enjoy, or at the least, reflect on what Eric Church has done for many many years that directly impacts and gives opportunities to the new bucks coming into country music. He truly made change and changed lives.

Prince used to change how he sang Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, Something in the Water, and so many other hits for example and this rendition from Eric Church was phenomenal. Why would people criticize this and his whole set? In my opinion he is not just a musician, he is an Artist. This was well thought out and creative. I would’ve loved to have seen this live. Church choir gave me the chills. 🎼🗝️❤️🎶🎶
As a teen, it wasn't Springsteen that rebelled that made me rebel from my Southern Baptist upbringing. It was a different song at a different time that I got my thorny rose tattoo. This song always reminds me why I got "that old ink".

I saw Eric Church in Charlotte for his Gather Again tour. I have been a fan of his since the beginning. But did get the chance to see him until I turned 20. His Charlotte show was on my birthday. Great show, loved every second of it

You can play a song any way you want and it’s still the same song, it’s all in your the mind perceives it’s beauty. Im proud to be a EFC fan, proud to be in the church choir. Im proud to call NC home and because of Eric, Im proud to say I’m an App State Mountaineer!! When he performed this song in Indianapolis I told a fellow concertgoer that it's my favorite song of his and the guy said he didn't like the guy the song is written for because he's a "liberal". I told him that I'm as liberal as it gets. And, proud of it.

No we walked out because this was one of two songs of hia own that he actually played. He did a full on gospel set for a festival, like read the room dude and play what you are known for. I saw him the last time he played stagecoach, phenomenal job, but this wasn't it.

It is ok and would have gone over more if he did part of his set normal then did another set like this. See what the Chief forgot about are the fans who never saw him before and they wanted to see a real show, die hard fans are ok with it since we all saw it before but come on now, what about those kids out for their first show, that was the miss.
Eric Church is a true artist. Don't try to dictate what he wants to do with his music. He doesn't need negative BS comments. He is going to continue to create and recreate his music and that is what an artist does. Ignorant and lousy fans!

one hour into the set and he did not talk to anyone……never even got up! We left (along with thousands) after 15 minutes. I am a spiritual man but did not play tobin’s to see gospel music at 9:30 on a friday night at a festival!!!! just wrong in so many ways. Write an album and declare it and let people make a choice to but it or not but this was deceptive

This guy will be a legend. Awesome tunes, even went to a concert in Vancouver BC a few years back. The glasses: LED lights are not great for anyone so he wears glasses to protect hi eyes. However I must say this is not the Eric Church I have listened too. I have never seen him supported by a chair. I hope what I am about to say will not offend some. But the covid vaccines are taking a toll on many celebrities . I hope Eric is not one of the victims.
One of my favourite songs of one of my favorite artists, but again: church live mostly is off key, I hate he is so careless about delivering a good performance.
And yet another singer finds new and exciting ways to ruin their songs. If this song had been launched instead of the original version, we would have never heard of it.

It's a shame there was so much blowback for this set. I mean this is so much more special than him just running through the hits that he probably stopped having fun playing a LONG time ago. A lot of artists would just stop performing songs like "Springsteen" entirely because they are so damn bored of it. Happens all the time. Church instead composes an entirely new arrangement which is beautiful and unique... and people complain. Luckily I think Church is the type that doesn't really give a damn about the people complaining and will continue to be the artist he wants to be.
