    This is Chris's 2nd Video on RUclips. Check out his first one • Chiropractic Adjustmen... In this second video Chris was involved in an AUTO ACCIDENT his NECK and SHOULDER where significantly hurt. In this video you see Chris 2 months into treatment and he's 90% better but we thought we would have some fun. We measured the difference in HEIGHT of Chris before and after his ADJUSTMENT. I have never done this before but knew it was true. Maybe not to this degree. He was over 1/2 INCH taller after the adjustment. Understandably this is not the most scientific experiment but hell it was fun to do.

      I feel the same way.....I wish I either lived in So Cal so I could visit him or there were chiropractors like Dr Thayer in Jersey..its really difficult to find a chiropractor who isn't just looking to bill out for adjustments....Dr Thayer really wants the patient to be informed....IMO chiropractic therapy is a really important part of wellness and healing...but the medical community does not recognize its benefits like it should....you can tell by how the insurance companies make a patient jump through hoops for coverage!.....once again great video Doc!

    I was 5'5.5". Went to my chiropractor and was told that I would benefit from a spine adjustment among other things. Immediately, I was 5'6.75". Kept going regularly, kept doing exercises at home, playing a lot of basketball and sitting less. I'm now 5'7.25". My lower back was always pretty curved in, but I never really thought nothing of it. My neck was always a little forward leaning and upper back curved out more. Now it's more straight overall and my neck as well. I've strengthened my core and back muscles a lot more too. Just thought I'd share.

    In my experience what has helpled me correct my posture and keep the height gained (2 and a half inches) is sleeping without a pillow on my back on a rather firm matress (sometimes even on the floor). Most cases of bad posture are because people sleep curled up either on their sides or on their stomach. This is quite unnatural for the body and given enough time will cause bad posture.

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  6 лет назад +7

      Very good observation. Only there is more to it than that but you are definitely on the right track. Posture is everything to keeping your height. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

    • @ХристоСмоленов-ж3щ
      @ХристоСмоленов-ж3щ 6 лет назад +1

      Well I do my best to exercise regularly and do stretching exercises. I believe they have benefited me in such a way that my body is relearning proper breathing and postural habits. I do however think that being in shape and sleeping/sitting walking in the proper posture is the most important thing when it comes to you appearance. You are really doing a terrific job with the adjustments and I can vouch that chiropractors really do help with fixing various spinal dissorders (kyphosis,anterior pelvic tilt,forward head posture).
      What are your thoughts on common types of bad posture (kyphosis,anterior pelvic tilt,forward head). Are they genetic or acquired from a lifetime of bad habits? I would really like to get your proffesional input on this
      Stay marvelous my man :)

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks for your reply. As for posture there is no exact answer. We discussed this very question in college. It's the NATURE NURTURE debate. Generally it's a function of genetics and poor learned habits. What percentage is up to God. But as a chiropractor I try to work with both to bring about the best outcome. Just for the record you really have a good idea how things work. Hope this information helps. Enjoy the holidays. :))

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  9 лет назад

      +Path Krabbs You understand what's going on very well. Yes your posture is affecting your height. You need a a two prong treatment. First aggressive chiropractic to remove the pain and discomfort you experience each time you try to stand straight. Then following that treatment you need training on how to properly stand up straight for life. It's not easy but it's possible. And it's really possible the younger you are. . So go get it done and good luck to you.

    Dr. Thayer I can't say enough times how much you are the best there is out there. Your technique is artisan and your adjustments are razor sharp with precision. I shall call you "Sir Thayer" because of those medieval pulls you cranked on your patient. His body remained in Costa Mesa while his head went to Disneyland. I swears to you that we are going to have a Tuborg together one day. Beer and spinal decompression without the soggy towel.
    Do you adjust the Thorassic as well? You seem to use different manoeuvres on different patients. I guess that you read each person's problems and compensate with the appropriate moves.
    Simply above all the others. That's what Sir Thayer is.

      Hey ace. I used to work a job where I would sit for 8-10 hours a day. The past 4 months I have been getting extreme pain when waking up in the morning and most of the time the pain is there throughout the day. When sitting or laying down the pain amplifies. Mostly in the middle to lower back. Sometimes the upper back hurts but I think thats because I'm trying to put less pressure on the rest of my back. Just from this explanation what do you think is the cause of this pain? I'm from the bay area and would you be able to recommend any chiropractors in the bay area? Please help me.

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  9 лет назад

      Jonathan Wilson Ok. I love how you realize that your upper back hurts because your low back makes you accommodate to the pain. That is very smart of you to realize that. Well I'm here to tell you that it goes much further than that. Your problem is a BALANCE problem. It starts in your neck. How do I know this because 90% of all problems occur because of the pressure exerted on the brainstem. Look up an UPPER CERVICAL CHIROPRACTOR on google and try them first. They are the closest to what I do. Run from any SPORTS chiropractor or anyone that wants to put electrical stimulation and heat on your back. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

    How does Chiropractic adjustment alter muscle imbalances that surround the joints? Won't many adjustments just go back to where they are after a short time? I'm not a Medical Doctor, but I would assume it takes considerable time to develop the muscle imbalances so it would take time for them to adjust back to normal rather than just a quick pop? I ask because I have curvature of my spine and pelvis and I'm considering treatment options.

      Narcisa Araujo Go see a CHIROPRACTOR. Not just any chiropractor You need to see a REAL CHIROPRACTOR that will adjust your NECK. Sorry I don’t know any CHIROPRACTOR in your area. All I can say is look for an UPPER CERVICAL SPECIALIST on google in your area. RUN from any chiropractor that wants to put you on Heat, Electrical Stimulation, Traction, Ultrasound, Laser, etc… You need to go to someone that will ADJUST YOUR SPINE. DO NOT try a doctor that wants to work on your body by stretching or strengthening it. Hope this helps. Please Keep me informed about what you find and how it works for you.

    Hey doc I’m 20 years old and I have a question. Before 18 years old my height was 5’8 3/4 but then afterwards when I was close to turning 19 and after that, I had grown half an inch which took me to 5’9 1/4 and with shoes and sandals I was 5’9 3/4 which gives me half an inch. I felt normal and tall that time. I also have poor posture to the point where a bit slouch feels natural to me but I try to stand straight. Since a summer from 2021 I would wake up and stand straight and measure 5’9 1/4. Some of the days in the morning I was 5’8 3/4 but then during the day I was back to 5’9 1/4. Currently a week ago I think I was at my original height which is 5’9 1/4 in the morning but a few days ago at the doctors in the morning I was 5’8 3/4 then 5’8.5. My concern is that from poor posture I lost the height I grew to which was 5’9 1/4. Even when I stand straight, nowadays I don’t feel tall and it’s at 5’8 3/4. Also when I stand straight, my lower back is arched. Is there any way to regain my lost height?

      Hello Najib. I thought your comment was going to be similar to all the other people who question me about height. But to my surprise you came at it from a different angle. So to answer your question. Your posture is influence by poor balance in your body and that poor balance is effecting your posture and height. Fix your neurological balance and you will be able to retain height. You have to go to a qualified chiropractor and they are hard to find but that’s the deal. Hope this helps. God bless my friend 🤙🏻

    Hi there. You are indeed a delightful human being for helping people go through the pain of bad posture. I'm trying to wrap my head around some things and I hope that you will provide insight into them.
    1. Isn't the guy in the clip capable of standing straight as he can and thus achieving the extra height. Do most people not know how to stand straight properly and why exactly are the chiropractic adjustments needed? Can a person teach himself to hold good posture in daily life by himself or does he need the guidance of a posture specialist like yourself?
    2. Can improving conditions such as anterior pelvic tilt,forward head posture,kyphosis increase your height and what are some ways to keep implementing good posture in your daily life so that the bad posture never come back to haunt us. (Spooky bad postures) :D

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  6 лет назад

      Very insightful. You get the big idea. Posture is the key to maintaining height. One thing you are missing is you also need a chiropractor to release the bodies potential to have better posture. You can try and force it but without proper balancing neck adjustments you can only be so successful. Hope this all makes sense. Good luck. 👍🏻

    My mom has been having alot of pain these past years in her neck, ears, she gets migraine and even her arm gets numb.
    Now ive been watching these chiropractic videos and some of the people have the same symptoms as my mom does, do u think a chiropracter can fix this problem?

Muscle Physiology will not allow any human to contract a muscle continually without fatigue setting in. So get as strong as you like. Hello. Height change is relative to your posture. With that said the most I’ve seen over the years is an inch. But that’s not to say that it can’t be more it just again starts and finishes with spinal health. So another factor to consider is age. A spine that is old will not retain my work as long as someone young. So with all this said. You have the greatest ability to change because of you height and age. So whatever you decide do something sooner than later. Hope this information helped. Check out these two additional videos of a patient that I changed their height. God Bless 👋🏻

      +GUNSFOREVER1 Yes. If you try and change it on your own then it hurts. You need corrective chiropractic then you will be able to improve your posture. Good luck to you.

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  7 лет назад

      Sorry I do not know any chiropractor in your area. What I always tell people is that they should google Upper Cervical Specialist Chiropractors. Only problem is that most are light touch. You need someone that will ADJUST YOUR NECK with their HANDS. No machines, no toggle or light touch chiropractic. Do not go to NUCCA, Atlas ORTHOGONAL, or Blair chiropractors. RUN from any chiropractors that want to put heat and electrical stimulation on your back. Exercise and stretching is a waste of time. Sorry but if you want what I do the choices are very limited. Good luck. Please come back and share how it goes. 😃

      I appreciate your response Doctor, I was just wondering because after watching your video "Reviewing X-Rays and getting a 2nd MIRACLE adjustment" I feel like I have the same problem as that. I think I can definitely be taller if I improved my posture and straightened my spine at a chiropractor. One quick question by the way: if I went to a chiropractor and had my back adjusted, will my posture be fully fixed from that point, or do I have to do some exercises and workouts after my appointment to keep my back straight?

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  8 лет назад

      +Esa Soudbakhsh It's way more difficult to change your posture than you think. You need many adjustments to your spine to train it to stay straight then you have to change your posture for the rest of your life. Can be done but you have to work for it.

    Do chiros ever address a persons strength or provide rehabilitation exercises ? What advantages do they have over a smart physiotherapist?

    • @SoCalChiropractic
      @SoCalChiropractic  9 лет назад

      Rhys Hughes Thanks or your question. Your question bring to mind the old story of which came first the chicken or the egg? So in my book I believe the spine does all the damage to the human condition. PT's believe and most of the world's MD's & CHIROPRACTOR's believes that muscles influence the body. I have shown many times in my videos that this is not correct but lets answer your question. I do rehab after I balance the spine. Doing any rehab before the spine is in full balance only creates NEGATIVE MUSCLE MEMORY which consequently makes it more difficult for me to help someone. So the basic idea is to straighten the spine first and then strengthen it in place. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching.

      Chiropractors work on electric ⚡️ System of the body. No amount of exercise can turn on the electric component. Only chiropractors can do that. Check our this video to see an example ruclips.net/video/snWLVrplvJU/видео.html

      +Supreme Ascension Yes muscle memory of poor posture can reduce the improvement. If a patient tries to change their poor habits then it can last. Gravity does not compress the spine like you think it influences poor posture to be worse. Watch this video to better understand ruclips.net/video/s6lioh35AGQ/видео.html. Hope this helps. How tall is up to your body and how bad your spine is. How long it lasts if up to you and how well you listen. Good luck>
