- This is the Reason Why Yuki Ishikawa is One of the Best Players in Volleyball History !!! Yūki Ishikawa (石川祐希, Ishikawa Yūki, born 11 December 1995) is a Japanese male professional volleyball player from Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
Ishikawa is the first volleyball player to have a wax figure in Japan.[1] Currently, his wax figure is displayed at Madame Tussauds Tokyo.[2]
Ishikawa was named "Best outside spiker" award at the FIVB World Cup (2015, 2019), FIVB Nations League (2023, 2024), Asian Championship (2017, 2019, 2021), as well as "Most valuable player" award at the Asian Championship (2017, 2023).
As of April 2021, Ishikawa is the captain of the Japan men's national volleyball team, and plays as an outside hitter. He currently plays in the SuperLega (The highest level of Italian Volleyball League) for Sir Safety Perugia.
The Japan men's national volleyball team (Japanese: 男子バレーボール日本代表) represents Japan in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Japan Volleyball Association.

Honestly the Japan team is what got me into watching AND PLAYING volleyball! 🤭 they are all so so charming and entertaining to watch. Yuki Ishikawa is a volleyball genius - that should be his name. The way he strategizes where to land the ball and what to do, I just think he is a clever player and amazing leader.

the first time I started following VNL, I liked Brazil, then Franceand then I fell in love with Japan because of Yuki and since then I have been fan.I really wanted them to win Gold this VNL and I was hurt when they lost..I see so much potential in this team .I hope this Olympics they win.

Whatever others say, for me, I go for Yuki Ishikawa anytime. He is just an amazing all rounder player. His name carries everything that is good in a volleyball player. You can run out of appropriate adjectives but still, Yuki being Yuki and you cannot go wrong. He has turned volleyball into a science with physics and geometry but still enjoyable to watch. He is the reason I follow VNL and Japan National Team and in the process, I got to know the happy talented and skilled young men composing the Japan Men's Volleyball National Team. Their plays are always exciting and worth your while. Good luck in your next battle, Japan Men's Volleyball National Team. Go for the gold! See you in the Paris Olympics!
