The concern is actually frost-bite. If you move the ice quickly enough it won't hurt, however if it sits in one spot for for more than a moment, you will feel the sting of the cold
UberX i found that extinguishers are easy to find if you ever see unattended construction equipment. Like a back hoe, bulldozer or something like that. Check to see if the door is unlocked.
AnteVante I don't know what does shops sell in your country but in mine they don't really sell fire extinguisher.. To buy one you have to pay A LOT and also look for specialized stores wich are not really for private customers
Grant, you're right, it does say dry-chemical on it, but if there was any tag on it at one time, it's long gone. The gauge pressure is still in the green though.
You're videos are brilliant! So glad I stumbled across them, I feel most alive when I'm using my creativity and love anything that helps feeds it. Thanks for posting!
How much dry ice do you get per pound of CO2? I fully discharged my extinguisher and got 5lbs dry-ice from 15lbs liquid CO2, so my experience with crude equipment is a 1:3 ratio dry-ice/CO2.
At my work, we use tanks of Carbon Dioxide, with an insulated container and a small brick like form. We use dry ice bricks, to pack around parts. Just helps get them ready for installation. Beats Liquid Nitrogen any day. I had burns on my arms for a year, after installing bearings out of Liquid Nitro...
I don't have experience with CO2 for welding, but I imagine it will work! It may not be food grade, but that's probably ok for most purposes. If you try it, let me know how it works. :D
+Lots o Sheeps I dunno, there is a possibilty of it happening. Like, around -100 Degrees Celcius. Wait, but CO2 that WE breathe out is still polluted with O2 (air), so it would be pretty much impossible.
The best thing you can do is seal the stuff in a Vacuum-Insulated container with as small an access port as possible. The Vacuum barrier is about as good a thermal insulator as you can hope for unless you happen to have a research grade super cooler laying around. Also, only go Vacuum-insulated, NOT Vacuum SEALED, as this will lead to a slow build up of pressure that could be very dangerous. (Storing the stuff in a Freezer helps, but only for so long.)
I watched this video a long time ago when I was obsessed with dry ice. Now I watch this channel a lot and I found this video again and I can't believe it lol

With an extinguisher he strapped it to a wagon and popped the top that had a modified valve.. and turned it into a rocket car flying through the colleges museum!
But why though? If you don't have enough for a fire extinguisher and there's a fire, what are you going to do. (Assuming you can't get to water because the fires blocking it, or it's an electrical fire.)

Derpy Gamers United I understand fully what liquid nitrogen is, but he said that there will be a video on how to make it. Now I have no idea how he will do it but he said he will so I was just wondering when.
Lucky. I thought of doing that. Checked the local prices for a new extinguisher and extinguisher refills vs buying dry ice, was far cheaper to buy the dry ice from the most expensive place.
+Star MC Carbon Dioxide is used because it smothers fires and unlike ABC extinguishers, its totally clean. ABC extinguishers have a mix of micro dust that also smothers flames, but they leave that crap everywhere and can really hurt you if you breath it in.

Then when an accident happens, and a fire is set, the workers wont have anything to put out the fire!
getting dry ice is easier than getting a fire enstinguer
Well, you can get dry ice from the fire extinguisher, so I dont get what you mean with it being easier.

Good quick demo. If you get dry ice at a store the only thing they do differently is shoot the CO2 into a tray/form that makes a brick!

No, it will still sublimate quite rapidly in a freezer too. It should be used as soon as it is made so you don't lose too much
you are not "making" anything , you just put it from one place to another.
By that logic you can never "make" anything ... law of conservation of mass.
