- Terraria Hardcore mode is undoubtedly one of the hardest ways to play Terraria, especially on hard difficulties like Master Mode. So what if we played it as the Summoner class, a class that is often seen as a "glass cannon" with zero defense or survivability, a nightmare for a hardcore player. Can it actually be beaten? And what if the daytime empress of light was also attempted for the terraprisma... that'd be crazy, right?

In terms of actual survivability, barring a few exceptions in setup, summoner's not as far behind the other classes as one might first think. The only one of the Big Three that differs significantly in its survivability would be melee; the other two aren't too dissimilar.

I like summoner but the weak defend is just so bad especially in the late game which you must fight Pilars you are one shot
Yeah, with max warding, berserker's glove and frozen shield, it's quite tanky
@matinsoltani7199 Nah. It's all but indistinguishable from mage barring a single armor set (which many would regard as among the most overpowered in Terraria), and only barely behind ranger in practical terms.

hardcore infernum is already fucked, getfixedboi makes it nearly impossible, and on top of that, you have to no hit, and you only do (if my math is right) one tenthousandth damage? even without a weapon restriction that might be impossible
@CrudeAndUnusual cal gfb no-hit isnt possible and infernum doesnt even work in difficulties higher than expert

I've seen people do hardcore plays but allow themselves to do the esc, logout, login sequence when they get into trouble. It's true they can play with that accessibility but I agree with you, it feels cheesy in a run where the person purposefully wants to do a hardcore run for the challenge.
as a summoner the best stratagy ive found for solar pillar is to just stand on the ground... everything does contact damage and the worm doesnt get you unless youre in the air, its so easy i can just stand still most times.

it's a good idea to mix armors in general gameplay and especially hardcore. my go to for late prehardmode was having a piece of obsidian armor, bee armor, and molten leggings(?) with all warding for a really good amount of defense without losing any summon slots.

34:23 queen slime’s mount is actually goated for destroyer, has an incredible movement, and avoid most damage coming from underneath, plus, all mounts damage are considered summoner damage.
Actually, fun fact, not ALL mount damage is considered summon damage. The Toy Tank mount and the brain scrambler are both classless damage mounts

God that stress with daytime EOL reminds me of when I fought Duke fishron on my hardcore getfixedboi clear… I had around 25 hours of practice solely on Duke fishron premech, and in my actual hc world I had rod of discord + hallowed armor, so I was even more stacked. I succeeded..😇 aqua scepter carried for the rest of the game.

Hybrid summoner setups are by far the best. You can have up to 3 summons and like 2 sentries without any equipment, and the Old One's Army sets are great.
