In today's episode, Swahili continues. A settler gets purchased, and it is world congress time. Nothing of importance gets voted through the world congress, but honey does get boosted, which was nice.Magnus gets recruited and put into Bagamoyo, and the city of Pate get settled on a small island. A great admiral gets recruited, and is then sent off to scout the seven seas, and Zanzibar starts to build an industrial zone. The Matterhorn gets discovered, and unfortunately, Indonesia has settled near it. The barbarians have learned how to travel the oceans before the Swahili, and a Barbarian Man-At-Arms gets seen (fortunately on an unsettled island). Taruga gets suzerained, and thus the Swahili republic discovers Gobustan, then Colossus gets built. Trade is established with Indonesia, then the Swahili manages to build the Oracle in Mombasa, the city then starts to build an industrial zone. Bagamoto build a settler and sends it on its way, and after a light shuffling of the government policies, the Swahili now produces as much science as Indonesia. Cartography gets discovered by the Swahili republic, and the last Civ shortly after, and it turns out to be Honest Abe, and with them Mount Roraima. Isiador gets bribed to join the Swahili republic, because they have wonders to build, then Mzizima gets settled south west of Bagamoyo on the coast of the Manza Bay. The Mausoleum At Halicarnassus gets built by Isiador, and the Swahili sets up a research alliance with Indonesia, then the Colosseum gets built next to the Hanging Gardens. Imhotep then gets bribed into joining the Swahili republic, who then reforms with Divine Right, to form the Swahili Kingdom. The Great Lighthouse then gets built, it's turning into quite the wonderful game, then another settler gets built. We discover that the Barbarians now have access to gunpowder, and Indonesia suggests a join war against America, which the Swahili declines. World congress time! In anticipation of the coming Indonesian missionaries, the Swahili tries to get their religion boosted. Jerbal Barkal gets built, Reyna gets recruited, and Indonesia tries to spread their religion to the Swahili capital. Kilwa Kisiwani then finished the Mahabodi Temple to deal with the invading missionaries, and since the Swahili religion got successfully boosted, the apostles prove very effective. The Swahili starts an inquisition to deal with the invading missionaries, and evangelize their religion. Faza gets settled on some bees, for that sweet, sweet, honey, and Magnus gets moved to Zanzibar. More crabs join the Swahili Kingdom, Brazil brags a bit about their culture, and the world enters the Renaissance era, which means golden age for the Swahili. Hic Sunt Dracones gets picked as the dedication, allowing the Swahili to spread far and wide. Some galleys get upgraded to caravels, an Indonesian missionary makes a grave mistake, and Brazil is starting to look very invadeable. Granada gets suzerained, which allows the Swahili empire to find Armagh, and the Swahili navy starts to make the seas safe. Angoche gets founded on a large island east of Lamu, and the Swahili starts to gear up for a naval invasion of Brazil. Zanzibar finishes the government plaza, and starts to build an ancestral hall, then Husuni Kubwa gets built. The seas are blocked to the west, and thus Brazil's fate is sealed, as Professional Army, Retinues, and Colonization gets put into the Swahili government. A great Merchant gets recruited, and unfortunately, the Swahili does not currently have a commercial hub, and the Ancestral Hall gets finished. Square Rigging is discovered, and five Quadriremes quickly become five Frigates, soon after Honest Abe gets convinced to start a joint war against Brazil. The assault on Brasilia begins, and it is slow going, but each attack does weaken its walls. With the discovery of reformed church, Wars of Religion gets put into the Swahili government. The walls of Brasilia comes tumbling down, but the Swahili navy holds of a bit to weaken a few more cities before taking multiple. The Swahili Kingdom discovers industrialization, and Wieselbanken gets put into their government. Will Ursa take two or three Brazilian cities at once? Will the Swahili be the one to take out Brazil from the game? Will the Swahili into space or into nukes? Turn in next episode, same Ursa time, same Ursa channel!
I just fired up a game with Swahili and Owls of Minerva, and WOW does it break quickly once you start making City Center/Harbor/Commercial Hub triangles and then put Guilded Vaults everywhere.
Districts next to city centers receive +2 adjajency from city centers and +1 from a harbor, but harbors next to wonders provide an extra trade route. So you actually don't want to build any wonders next to the city center if possible, as you want to place as many districts next to them as possible, but ideally you'd want at least one wonder next to all your harbors. Actually makes for really interesting decisionmaking as to where you put your wonders and districts.
7:26 so this is a naval map but no ai has harbors even after turn 100 but all of them rush science districts. That really annoys me so I started playing with real strategy AI mod which makes them better. It basicly makes them stop spamming campuses which makes the game more enjoyable for me
"That's how Suns work, they get sunk. Buy a couple of builders" lmao I heard "That's how Suns work, they get sunk by a couple of builders!" and I just imagined like a pair of builders (might be opposite gender, might be gay, your pick), walk up to the sun like "hey, we're gonna sink you!" and then they throw it in the ocean So if you're a builder and you're wondering how to spend your honeymoon... XD
Well, now there's crabs and lobsters.. What if they join ranks, though?? Is that a thing? Is there crustacean solidarity? I'm so anxious!

that sounds like so much fun
With Brotherhood of the Deep, this civ + sukritact's ocean is very fun

imagine this civ with owls. 3 trade routes per city with a wonder.
I thought that you needed to build wonders next to your city centres? I guess I misunderstood that from episode 1

@@JuGsabut what's confusing is, harbors provide adjacency to districts, while they themselves need wonders next to them
tongue tying is so endearinng I remembered to like the vid

Hey ursa. You could get a bunch of interesting modded civs and do a vote for a big TSL game
Like the renames.

Reminder for you, Ursa: do NOT put a city on that island before REALLY thinking about it first!

I am not a fan of domination myself, but for brazil i often make an exception. I really dont like their lines. Thanks for the fun series.
The detailed cards are not picking up the +2 from city centers.
Industrial zone card was only giving +3 for a while when you had 3 at +4.
yep, the pins weren't right but the yields were fun!
Not just the pins. The cards in the government as well. @@UrsaRyan
