I love that he uses leftover ingredients! This is something I have seen no other RUclipsr do they always buy some special ingredient that never gets used again.
@@mattymattffs indeed! I mostly watch this, Guga Foods, Iron Chef Dad, and Joshua Weissman. There are a few others but those are the main ones. Josh is great but always uses the most impossible to find ingredients.
Respect to you my guy, I really love how you take the time to teach everyone how to make pasta from scratch which can take a long time to perfect and meanwhile respecting the Italian culture and as to how pasta is made there despite the dish itself not being quite traditional. I'm telling you right now if Vincenzo reacted to this video he'd be extremely proud !!💪💪🙌
That's crazy! I literally just said to my wife, "Hey this leftover pork and rapini from that sandwich would go well with some rigatoni. We should have that for dinner tomorrow" then I turn on youtube and see this!
Your passion for food and technique come through clear as day. Thank you for stimulating my salivary glands every time I watch one of your brilliant videos. You da Man!!
THANK YOU!! I want to give this a try - I have a gnocchi board...now I have something to make with that, making me stretch my cooking wings! - THANK YOU!!
Let me preface that I love this channel and watch evey video immediately. Now, to the No crazy machine.... Proceeds to use a gnocchi board a pasta roller and a pasta cutter 😂
Well to be fair it isn't a machine (in the singular sense but multiple tools/machines) I only say this as I also love this channel and also noticed and found it funny.
Interesting! I'm Italian and I've never seen handmade rigatoni...I'm pretty sure that's really delicious but it seems a hard and long job...however it looks fun and tasty. I think I can only do it to impress someone special..
You don't know how fast I can open a box of Barilla pasta 😂🍝But in all seriousness, I can appreciate and admire Steve's dedication and passion for food...now that pork & broccoli Ragu? I can definitely get with that! 😋 Would make that in a heartbeat, as like you said, this would make a delicious meal for a special occasion. Food is love 😍
"Leftovers" has a negative vibe in the US. What's the Italian word for them (if there is one). Thanks for this one so much! Having switched to predominantly home cooked meals, in a small household -- any ideas you can provide where you are not "Meal" planning, but planning on how to incorporate those meals into next day's delights and also future delicious meals is SO SPOT ON. I don't have leftover pork roast, but hope that leftover frozen beef from a french style cottage pie will work with a couple of tweeks. It's about cutting down on waste, amping up flavor without always starting from scratch, washing endless pans from "quick" meals, etc. I'm thinking of a weekly rotation between Italian and Indian dishes.
Homemade pasta is too much work. I did it a few Times. IMHO, not worth it. Gnocchi, yes. It's better homemade and yes, it's easy and quick. Great video!
I've never made pasta before but I've been watching a few videos. Why water instead of egg? Is there a flavor difference? Is it necessary for the structure of the rigatoni?
Love your vids! I made the Cavatelli and they were tough...what did I do wrong? I make egg pasta all the time but never water/semolina with no issues. Any thoughts from another Steve?
Lol rigatoni we’re everts ones fav when growing up, around 4:30 we would be heading home cause everyone had to be home at 5 for dinner that’s right 5 sharp and of course what are u having tonight and if there were 25 of us 10 would be having rigatoni the others would be salivating lol italians used to eat macaroni 3 times a week, it wasn’t called PASTA lol
I love to cook and make my own lasagna, ravioli, gnocchi and spaetzle dough, bread dough, and others, but making rigatoni one at a time, umm, no thanks. Great video though.
You didn’t make rigatoni. The ridges on rigatoni run parallel to the long side not cross-wise (which is the only option with a pasta board). If you want to make rigatoni you must extrude it through a die which will create ridges in the correct orientation. You made large Garganelli. 😝
I have been a big fan of your channel for many years. You make great meals and explain how to make them in easy to follow steps... My family all love the meals I've made using your recipes... BUT... If you keep posting your videos with thumbnails showing your mouth gaping open taking a bite, I might have to unfollow you.
Your shirt is cute but a lot of people are literally starving and having been there a few times in my life… not having something to cook can make you very grumpy so your shirt is pointless and ironically hateful, not helpful.
I love that he uses leftover ingredients! This is something I have seen no other RUclipsr do they always buy some special ingredient that never gets used again.
Wow he so wow
You need to expand your RUclips cooking universe. Ethan cheblanski (or something like that) does it all the time

@@mattymattffs yea Ethan Chleblowski is great!

Thanks for dropping all that knowledge bro! Truly inspiring and appreciated ✌️✌️✌️
I was just reminded how much I love your videos. Bravo, dude.
I've learned so much about being a day to day home cook from this guy, love it
Stevie Boy......Made em like my Mom-Mom, great "F"ing video. Thanks for all your hard work kid!
This looks fabulous! 😋 Making those little rigatonis would certainly take patience and hrs to achieve it!
We made this today, with fresh pasta from our friend’s shop and it was amazing ❤❤
Thanks for the link to the brass pasta tools! WOW! Gorgeous!..... Great show!
I like how he explains he reasons when cooking
Loving your videos! Keep them coming!
Thank you for the beautiful video you made. Your recipe is good and I will try it.😊
omg the finished product looks amazing.
That looks amazing! I've never made pasta before, I may just have to give it a go!
😂 try it. I did . 😢
Nice finish for that roasted pork loin cheesesteak mix.
Add a little white wine during the pork and broccoli warm-up period would make this dish even better
That's crazy! I literally just said to my wife, "Hey this leftover pork and rapini from that sandwich would go well with some rigatoni. We should have that for dinner tomorrow" then I turn on youtube and see this!

You're amazing. Love your dedication to cooking. TY. 👍
Wow, that’s gotta be Good! Kudos to you bro for making your own pasta. Peace.😎
THANK YOU!! I want to give this a try - I have a gnocchi board...now I have something to make with that, making me stretch my cooking wings! - THANK YOU!!
Good one! Now that I make my own pasta, leftover roasted meats often end up in a ragu or ravioli. 🤗🤗🤗
The best addition to that dish is jalapeno pepper. The perfect meal
Let me preface that I love this channel and watch evey video immediately. Now, to the No crazy machine.... Proceeds to use a gnocchi board a pasta roller and a pasta cutter 😂
I understand this type of pasta needs this though it was just kind of funny to me
Well to be fair it isn't a machine (in the singular sense but multiple tools/machines) I only say this as I also love this channel and also noticed and found it funny.
And don't forget the pasta rolling machine 😂

So relaxing to watch
Thank you’ve made it so easy to inderstand.
Cool! Another way to use my gnocchi board. That looks tasty.
Damn, I'm hungry now.
I missed the end because i was drooling on my phone.
Brilliant!
Yum! Rigatoni is my favorite pasta also!
Looks delicious AF!

That was beautiful!
I love you& ur vids so much!!!
So this looks like a net calorie burner meal 😆. Looks fantastic as usual!
The Jersey in me tingles
I love your videos. Thank you!

So good

Got to respect a guy that use a mouthpiece for holding the camera
Wow!

Well done👍👍👍
Ok now the tomato paste makes sense
Looks great
Ohhh Absolutely ✅👍
Love the channel. Loved the video. But I have to hard disagree on your claim that this pasta is easy to make without any special equipment
I love how he says "it's going to come together... without much work". Dude, you just handmade rigatoni. You're already way past not much work. :-)
Just imagine what dinner looks like when he "goes to some trouble." 😂
"no machine required" seems a bit misleading
hmmm interesting but much better if you make bigger hole and more likely, lengthwise when making ridges though but overall, delicious
🔥
Anyone know tool he's using to knead the bread on? Is that just a big cutting board?
Great! What brand of semolinsma?
Very cool but it takes longer to make each one than eat them!
Is that an American Range stove???
I love to cook and make my own lasagna, ravioli, gnocchi and spaetzle dough, bread dough, and others, but making rigatoni one at a time, umm, no thanks. Great video though.
Why don't you put egg in the macaroni?
Where is the dough recipe?
Imagine spending all this time and effort making this for someone else...Me, nope thats for me and me only😂
8:37, Pause
This is what I Imagine prisoners get to do, making rigatoni by hand all day for Barilla to sell.
Lost me at no eggs in pasta dough
NGL, i don't see hand made rigatoni being worth it. Surely would be just as good with some homemade linguine or really nice high quality dry penne
Probably the most annoying background “music” I’ve ever heard on a RUclips video, which is quite an accomplishment.
Way too much work and preparation (even though you said leftovers) just for pasta, looks good though.
You didn’t make rigatoni. The ridges on rigatoni run parallel to the long side not cross-wise (which is the only option with a pasta board). If you want to make rigatoni you must extrude it through a die which will create ridges in the correct orientation. You made large Garganelli. 😝
I was thinking about then ridges too. lol. Couldnt you just run the dowel the other way on the board?
Looks ok, but I don't think this pasta is best shape for this recepie.
(No machine required) *pulls out pieces of equipment I have never seen even on the internet, let alone in my kitchen*
What the gnocchi press…cuz those have been around forever
The adds are so frequent, I stopped the video and looked elsewhere. Sorry, not sorry.
Wow pasta looking good. Check my pasta too❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
