Stephanie is rightly considered one of the all-time greats but I still don’t think she gets enough recognition. Arguably NOBODY was as diverse as her. Magazine Covers ✔️ High Fashion Runway ✔️ Commercial Work✔️ Victoria Secret ✔️ Editorial ✔️ Playboy ✔️ Sports Illustrated ✔️ Face of campaigns ✔️ Cosmetics ✔️ And she was phenomenally successful at all of it. None of the other supers were *THAT* successful with that much variety. Not even Cindy.

“Arguably NOBODY was diverse as her. None of the other supers were THAT successful with that much variety. Not even Cindy.”
That’s false. Cindy was the most diversified of the supermodels and was the one who pushed boundaries and expanded what a fashion model could do with her career. Other models followed her example after they saw her succeed outside the fashion industry.
Cindy did all those things on your checklist for Stephanie except Victoria’s Secret. But she did things Stephanie didn’t: hosted more than one TV show, produced successful exercise videos, spokesmodeled for Pepsi, Pizza Hut, Blockbuster Video, Cadillac, and Omega watches. She has her own line of perfumes, furniture, and still collaborates on a skincare line (Meaningful Beauty). She also acted in 2 movies, the only area where she wasn’t successful.
She was one of a select group of top models to appear in George Michael’s iconic Freedom ‘90 music video. She appeared in a 1994 Jon Bon Jovi video and, many years later, was in a video for Duran Duran and for Taylor Swift. She was the main face of Revlon for most of the 1990s. She was a regular on the catwalk for Versace and also walked for Valentino, Christian Dior, Thierry Mugler, and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as for American brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Donna Karan.
Cindy was the first of the supermodels to pose for Playboy in 1988, even though the fashion industry at that time frowned on it and discouraged top models from posing nude for men’s magazines. Cindy’s success at it led to Stephanie posing for Playboy in 1991 and Elle MacPherson followed in 1994. Cindy’s Playboy pictorial attracted the interest of MTV producers, who saw in her a model who could attract the interest of straight men, a demographic that usually doesn’t follow fashion.
She doesn’t hold the top position for the most magazine covers, but she has over 1000-more covers than Stephanie.
She released her own advice book on makeup, “Cindy Crawford’s Basic Face”, in 1996. Stephanie released “Stephanie Seymour’s Beauty Secrets for Dummies” in 1998.
Cindy’s famous Pepsi commercial aired during the Super Bowl in 1992. In 1995, Stephanie appeared in a Diet Coke commercial.
Cindy was the first of her peers to executive produce and host her own fashion-focused show on MTV-House of Style. Afterwards, both Christy Turlington and Claudia Schiffer had stints as fashion correspondents for Entertainment Tonight. Cindy even guest hosted a late night one-on-one talk show, substituting for Bob Costas for several months.
Cindy produced and starred in her own lucrative exercise videos. Not long after, Claudia came out with her own exercise videos.
She appeared as herself on The Muppets and Cougar Town and played fictional characters on 3rd Rock from the Sun, According To Jim, Wizards of Waverly Place, and BoJack Horseman.
I was a teenager during the 1990s, very interested in fashion, models, and pop culture. These things I listed I saw with my own eyes. Stephanie did a lot of things, but Cindy did even more. It was noted by various magazine articles back then that Cindy was a trailblazer among models.
