It was the other way around for me. I was kinda surprised at Zaveid's creed in Berseria and how much more serious he was then (but still a major flirt😂). I loved seeing how he obtained Siegfried~
Nah, Zaveid is still a flirt in Berseria. But he was grieving his wife's death and all that crap during Berseria so it didn't come across as much. But you do get a sidequest scene where the kids he took care of talk about Zaveid and basically describe him as a slightly pervy jokester. Wish he would have shown that side more in Berseria to be honest,but since he always began fighting with Eizen we never got to see it.
@@LeonGun8 It wasn't just that…If you notice, he twice makes a pervy comment in Berseria, whoever he's talking to takes him seriously, and he IMMEDIATELY backpedals and says he was joking: When he mentions to Phi that he's looking for an unattached woman with a pretty face instead of meeting kids all the time, Phi apologizes, and he's like "I'm just joking, grow a sense of humor!"; and when he says at another point that the ladies can't resist him, young or old, they just love him, and Velvet and Eleanor give an incredibly unimpressed response, he's like "You guys don't know how to take a joke, do you?" But then fast forward a thousand years to Zestiria, where if someone acts like they're taking his perviness seriously, he DOUBLES DOWN on it (see the skit about marrons glaces). Zaveid might always have been the sort of guy to talk, but before Theodora died, it was just talk. But after? Well…what happens when a person's spirit breaks? They might become an empty shell, they might go wild with desire…eeny, teeny, spiny, crow… I don't know, I feel like Zaveid has the potential for an entire story arc where he comes to terms with his broken heart and maybe even finds a way to heal (I guarantee he's still broken in Zestiria)…but like everyone else worth paying any attention to in Zestiria, Zaveid got sidelined and used for almost nothing, given no story arc and almost no reason to be in the game at all…le sigh… V_V
Why do you think they didn't do another take? Was there SUPPOSED to be some awkwardness…? Things I still wonder no matter how many times I watch this scene…
Berseria has a great story... too heavy and loaded to be fun for a game... but when it feels heavy, I play Zestiria. Zaveid is hilarious and Mikleo getting hit by Edna's umbrella and her sarcasm is just as funny. Sorey is the dork who doesn't carry as much emotional baggage as Velvet... but that's why he's fun to play. He has no drama in his body, but he works harder than everyone. And like us, he may be naive and childish... but that's the innocence that makes him rare in a world filled with angry, revenge-seeking haters.

I played Berseria before Zestiria, and I'm quite surprised with Zaveid's personality, he was never like this in Berseria. X'D
