    Great video and spot on for me. I just picked up a 1992 DR650 that had been sitting in a backyard for 6 years. Let the fun begin.

    Thanks! Just bought my Dr650Se, from 1997, with only 11.000 km four days ago. Same colors! Your Video is very helpful!

    Good video, i think at 17:55 you forgot to clean out the little fuelfilter though. Most people replace it with a bigger fuelfilter when they install a new tank anyway.

      The fuel valve has a filter in the tank. I avoid inline fuel filters, they are not needed with an in tank filter and can cause additional problems.
      Thanks for watching!

      Tell you what, this bike sits low and cruises with ease. I understand why people grab these for dual sports. Thanks for watching!

    Nice, thanks! But hard to find? Have been in production since 1996 to this day same bike without change. Used to have one myself but I got tired with it cause it had a kick start =) Now looking into getting one again

      They are electric start, and no one wants to sell them around here so they are hard to find by me.

    Suzuki doesn't have a torque spec for the oil filter bolts. I just get 2 fingers at the end of the wrench and tighten until i feel it's snug.

      Buy it, it's a cool bike and you'll have no problem reselling it if you decide to.

    Suprised the owner didn't get it going on his own. I'd never let another man work on my DR! Seriously though, they are not complicated bikes...

    Was hoping to see a hose out of carb connecting to nothing. It is on the right side, upper left on carb. I think I got a glimpse of it. Is this hose supposed to be like this? Connected to carb and to nothing on the other end?

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  2 года назад

      Yes it's a vent line usually connected to a small round filter under the seat to keep water dirt out.

    Hi Tepco - I got a DR650 been sitting as well (tank is rusty) can you give more details on the TANK you got and Petcock for it (looking at a Clarke or Acerbis) just not sure which to buy and what petcock as I am sure the petcock on mine needs replacing. thanks

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  3 года назад

      The owner brought it over with an Acerbis tank. The tank came with the petcock.

      @TepcoCycleRepair  3 года назад +1

      I show the part number at 3:45 to help you find it. You will definitely need a new petcock so this tank is what you need.

    What’s a 92 complete in good shape worth ? Needs normal tlc been sitting

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  8 месяцев назад +1

      Well it's a tricky question. You have to figure out what it might need if it's been sitting that long. Carb clean if replacement, fuel flush, petcock, brake fluid flush, brake pads, valve adjustment, did any water get in the crankcase? Was it running perfect before it was parked? Did rodents chew on any wires? All things I would tackle for the right price. A non runner, sitting, I would pay 500-700. If it runs good but needs a good clean up 12-1500. You have to be careful because if it needs a few things you'll quickly run over what the bike is worth.

      I’ve have 2 strokes years ago but older now just want something to mess with I’m pretty tech savvy he wants 900$

    • @TepcoCycleRepair
      @TepcoCycleRepair  8 месяцев назад

      @timjack1020 I think if you trust him that it was running before it sat and it's a bike you really want, it's not bad. They are great bikes and a lot of on line backing. I wasn't that far off! You should be good at $900 if it's good.
