Lake Como in Italy has its own Nessie, its called Lariosauro, also lake Como is 425 m or 1,394 ft deep. Its really interesting how mysterious creatures (either fake or real) show up in folk lore all around the world, and how similar some of them can be.
During the summer of 1987, my friend and I were camping all around Scotland. We came across this huge Loch, it was Loch Ness. We stopped a while, as it was so quiet and a beautiful summers day. We had an orange 1 man canoe and life jacket. My friend canoed for a while then canoed back. I did the same and decided to canoe far out to the middle of the Loch. I remember how tranquil, still and picturesque everything was when I reached the middle of the Loch. After about 10 minutes I decided to do a 360 with the canoe and I was so chuffed that I had done this successfully. It wasn't until later on that I suppose it dawned on me that I could well have been gobbled up by the monster, but maybe it was busy down the other end far out, who knows~~~

I love it, this is excellent! I don't know if there is a geological explanation somehow. One of the best things about Scotland is that is has such an incomparable variety of geology. The Loch lies in that rift (or the Great Glen as we call it) - indeed part of that same rift can be seen in Northwestern Newfoundland in Canada and millions of years ago much of Scotland's landmass was part of Canada. In terms of Loch Ness, there are lots of ancient faults in the area which are the remnants of geological movements from millions of years ago. There is still also a lot of low level seismic activity in the area. All of that coupled with the deepness of the Loch (it being very, very deep as you say) add a bit of interest to all of this.
Wow i didn't realize it shared geology with newfoundland. And theres low seismic activity? That does explain an added element of mystery to it all. You're always full of fascinating insight global! 👌🙏

In this context, it's spelled "piqued." I know it doesn't matter because this is just the RUclips comments section, but it can be useful to know these things :)
The first pic taken was in 1933 (the Hugh Grey Nessie picture). It was always odd as (like other Nessie pics) the water around the 'creature' shows the object to be small (and not monster sized), the 'waves' around the 'object' can be seen to just be small ripples. The Hugh's pic seems to have been an edited (from negative, perhaps double exposure - which is why you see the dog image combined with the 'other' image). The 'other' image is thought to be a swan (with its head under the water). Well thats the popular opinion. It does appear to fit (you can still see the swans back leg and rear end in the manipulated pic too - on the right side of image). As for the Nessie legend; some of my family come from that area (going wayyyy back). They always said it was a hoax the locals both perpetrated and had used the story for a long time (as a ruse/cover). Over the years it was used to scare gentry (good for poachers etc etc). Then (in more recent times) it was resurrected and used in the hope of encouraging tourism to the area. fyi - I've seen a deer swimming across the loch with rubbish from the loch caught in its antlers. That looked really odd (like a giant eel creature undulating on the surface of the water (in actuality it was a trail of rope and tree branches behind the deers head). Once it climbed out the other side of the loch ..all was revealed :) Still its an odd place, the darkness of the water, the boats sounds when your under water there (I think the heavy peat water and loch shape cause the sounds to travel better in that loch). And the way the edges of the Loch drop off to sheer cliff faces (going straight to the bottom) ..made swimming there quite, interesting. :) Also, there are some big eels there, as well as groups of seals (these can swim in a pattern that looks just like a multi humped creature of the deep).
The ruins at the side of Loch Ness is actually a castle... it's called Urqhart castle. It's a beautiful spot and worth a visit. We've been on the Loch and unfortunately never seen Nessie. Really enjoyed listening to this. Would love more content like this.

The pond itself is only about a half acre of water and the deepest part is only 4 feet at the most. But I catch 3, 4 and 5 pound bass out of this pond and I've been to this pond over 100 times in my life. I have only seen this huge snapper once in all the times I've fished this pond. The snapper was as big as my yak, my yak is atleast 6 feet long. I saw it trying to pull down a dead bass but wasn't really trying to eat it yet, it was just trying to pull it underwater at first with its astonishing strong snap. This explains the fin shape and also explains why it's rare to see. It may also explain why the "lochness" tried pulling the man underwater and why the snapper could become huge in a body of water like the loch. Just an observation.
Great job with the research and presentation Rich! Loved it! And the topic, whether real, faked, or imagined, has always been fascinating! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and as usual, your whisper is the bomb! Well done and thank you! 🙏🏻

Could you do a video on the Spartans? Really is no ASMR out there for this topic, and I would love to learn more
Another video; Yaay! 🤗..
While listening to this video I opened a new tab to explore Loch Ness with Google Maps street view...and discovered a great little easter egg. I recommend trying it out. :)
What's the easter egg?
@@yungkilig5122 you’ve got to do it on the desktop version. Drag the little yellow guy in the bottom right corner to see something around the Loch and see what happens to him!
@@aqualls interesting. Sounds also quite disturbing lol.
@@yungkilig5122 nah, spoiler alert, the yellow figure just turns into a little green Nessie. It’s cute.
@@aqualls oh lol I might have to check it out later
