Greg is the king of self-filming! The quality and creativity is literally unmatched in the hunting community!
Big time ditto on that!!! Plus Greg is such an intentional educator!!!
He’s really good.. check out Jarad mills
@@OscarPerez-mn3po between him and Aaron when they are talking you be quiet and listen kinda things.
Nice tactic Greg. As a veteran turkey hunter, I am often faced with the same dilemma.....make a move or stay put and call. You seem to put a nice touch of quality into your videos that is much appreciated by your viewers. It was nice to meet up with you at the NWTF Convention in Nashville. Best of luck to you with your hunting career.
Greg I would love to see a video showing what you’ve got in your vest vs. what you keep in your chest rig for self filming. Looks like you’ve got quite a setup going on!
Another outstanding video, Greg! Thanks for all of your attention to detail. Congratulations 🦃
Congrats Greg!!Perfect set up, beautiful morning and a sweet gobbler to boot!! Great filming!
Great hunt! Congrats
No one does it better than Greg when it comes to self filming. His attention to detail is very very impressive.
Niceee
Never hunted specifically for turkey. All the videos def have helped to pave the way for a Pa spring turkey hunt. 👍 THP
As I get longer-in-the-tooth I find I am a lot more patient. I enjoy sitting and waiting for the show to move closer to me. I believe I am now more successful. Calling and convincing an adult long beard to come and check me out is a thrilling game of cat and mouse. Great decision Greg.
I agree, I have found over the years that if you are in a good area simply being patient is a great tactic.
Can we see a shed hunting video series this spring?! Love the content!
I also would like to see that
My favourite turkey video guy, no offence to the rest of the guys, but self filming…. He’s the boss!!
I loved that hunt nice shot killer spot thanks for the work and sharing
Can you guys show us which shotguns you running this turkey tour 2024
Great video I noticed a little shed hunting in the intro. I would die for some shed hunting videos from you guys. Though I admit I'm greedy and want all the THP content I can.
Yeah, that's rather become my go to strategy. Sitting back, being patient, and letting it unfold. It's worked well for me. Great hunt!
Such beautiful birds! Great hunt!
For me turkeys are more exciting than deer nothing beats gobbling and drumming! I hope we get a video with Myndi hunting this spring ✌🏻👍🇺🇸
Patients kills! Merriams definitely act differently than these Kentucky eaterns. If you punch a turkey tag by calling. You have beat nature. Self filming is a whole different level. The ONLY thing about this hunt i cringed on was calling to them after they had broke and was coming. They had you pegged before they stopped. Aewsome hunt and thanks for bringing us along.
What's the device you're using to move the camera and control the zoom? Looking to self film this hunting season and that thing looks like a huge help.
I agree with your decision Greg. Patience helps kill gobblers! Only thing I would have done differently, is use some more deadfall to freshen up your setup.
Hunting call and decoy shy gobblers is a great challenge and rewarding. My nephew and I got s 22 pounder with no calls and one Jake decoy. He saw the decoy and he headed for the hills and walked away. At 67 yards he felt safe and stopped. Big mistake cause we bagged him. Great video on patients Greg.
Anyone that would say "you should've done this or that" is a fool. Great hunt thanks for sharing!!!!
Awesome video!! Patience has definitely killed the most turkeys for me!
Sometimes when they fly down and shut up, they got hens, but other times... they might be comin' in silent. Patience grasshopper.
congrats Greg, great hunt and video! Felt like i was experiencing it myself
It definitely looks like a 3 1/2 from that recoil! Great job greg🫡👍🏻
this’ll be my first turkey season this year! after watching this man it gets me excited. how do you usually scout an area for turkeys? i duck hunt so scouting is apart of the game but in wondering if it’s different and what i need
to do to be successful? i live in louisiana so idk if that makes a difference as well.
I've definitely become more patient in recent years, and I've become more successful!
A little bit more to go with what he said at the end, if you go aggresive theres always that chance of spooking them bad. Ive done it, it sucks
Most people can’t slow down for a speed bump let alone a wild turkey hunt but makes sense
That echo after the shot was insane!
Don’t get no better than that. The hunt the setting the result. Can’t wait for month of may here in. Pa
Man I would love a set of your guys rattling antlers!!
Awesome hunt 👍👍
Was wondering what face mask Greg is wearing?
i think your wad hit the tree when you shot, very cool video
Always enjoy your videos 👍👍👌💪🦃
Nice job, Greg! I had something similar happen in Wisconsin on June 1, 2021, the last day of the spring season. Bird gobbled a few times on the roost, flew down and gobbled some more, then he moved away and shut up. About 30-40 minutes later he started gobbling again and coming toward me answering my calls. He circled me, then came in to 32 yards in full strut and I shot him. My first June bird ever. It was very thrilling!
Excellent hunt Greg, beautiful bird! Scouting is an important aspect of a hunt, sometimes we neglect what's in front of our faces...lol 😂😅 Love what ya'll are doing ❤
I just started turkey hunting in 2022. This will be my 3rd season. Didn’t think I could love anything as much as bow hunting whitetails, but I love 🦃 hunting. I noticed I give up too soon after they fly down & go quiet. I go on the move too soon or get too aggressive with my calling. I’m learning patience is just as important in Turkey hunt as deer hunting if not more!
Great bird, appreciate the analysis
I was saying stay put after the fly down. You did and it paid off. I thought the Toms might fight and the loser would come to you. Turns out they all came in. Then I thought the big Timber provided so much visual opportunities, I thought they would hang up on you, and you had no decoys. But it worked out great. Great video. Thank you. Be safe.
Worked for me once, and luckily, I had a tom decoy and an agreesive bird. He charged my decoy and I shot him at 7 steps. Foggy wet morning, it took over an hour for that bird to get to me. I sat tight has he gobbled about every 15-20 minutes and it seemed closer every time. I had no notice he was really close until he charged the decoy. Gave me no opportunity to truly be ready. Which didn't matter much at 7 steps.
Man. I am getting FIRED UP for turkey season. Thanks for the vids!!
They probably went down to get water.
Younger me would have gone bombing downhill towards those birds. Now that I’ve got more experience I’d trust the sign and previous scouting.
Thank you very much for the "food for thought"! Practical scenarios and advice set the THP above all other channels! You're the only folks I watch! Keep up the good work! God bless
I love the turkey hunting video. And getting hyped to go to the nwtf convention. Also, what first lite pants was Greg wearing. I've seen you wear it in the past, and I was just curious.
Dude you killed it on this video! Self filming was like you had someone with you. Your commentation during the whole video was on point. On top of it all, you smoked a nice one! Great job bud
I totally agree with you Greg, patience is the key to better success with gobblers, once I got settled down in my younger years my success rate got much higher, I would have done the same as you did, congrats on another nice longbeard, love your video quality in all your hunts
beautiful spot and view Greg nice job. Bravo 👏👏
It doesn't always work but it is the best tactic I've found. Those Toms know where you are and they don't forget. They might stay with their morning hens for a couple of hours before they come looking for you. Sometimes, they decide to go somewhere else and sometimes they like where they are and don't move, but I think waiting in a good spot, just as you show here, is the best way.
Great hunt, Greg! It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday at the NWTF Convention! Congratulations on a beautiful bird!
Greg always delivers top quality videos. A true professional in his work.
Great job Greg Awesome set up and you were right to stay put Congratulations on your nice harvest 😊 And you are the king videography
Best part of the year is when the guys start drop turkey videos!!! Means the thunder chickens are about to start talking!!!!!
In that scenario I probably would have done the absolute opposite of the correct decision
Attaboy Greg! There is nothing like those early morning gobbles as the spring woods start to wake up. I am gonna be chasing them in several states this spring and can hardly wait.
Why ain't you guys trying to get a bird with the compound? So much cooler
Damn, Greg’s self-filmed hunts are absolutely night and day versus everyone else. This man has it down to a science and has a boatload of patience to film/edit these shots!
DAMN that’s a beautiful spot to set up!! Bet that sunrise was something else!
Text book setup on that gobbler. Does not always go that easy as you know, congrats on a nice bird !!!
Another quality video from the master. Great hunt and great shot on that Merriams.
Good seeing you again Greg! How is Mindy? Be safe young man and thanks.
Gets me pumped for the season. April can't come soon enough.
What happened to the beneli?
I haven’t even watched all the Deer Tour stuff, and now this. 😂
You guys do a nice job with the educational aspect of your hunts. I dig it
Can't wait to get out to the black hills this spring for some merriams.
Agree with the philosophy and as always awesome video Greg!
I love the terrain in this video. Success or not I would love to hunt that area just for the experience.
Great job right there 👍
As usual,,Greg,,💯✅👊🙏
I've missed you Greg. Always lov your work!
Beautiful bird!
Awesome hunt and some beautiful footage of them coming up through the sun strutting congrats Greg
Your hunt stories are ALWAYS A+++ Greg!!!
Pretty sure no one can self-film like Greg! Great hunt man!
Nice hunt🎉🎉
Greg is the goat when it comes to self filming! Stoked for the upcoming season
Beautiful place to hunt turkeys!Nice shot!
Awesome hunt!
Totally Assume! Very fun to watch!
I love that you guys save some hunts to share before the season starts! Great hunt Greg! Thank you for sharing
Turn out to be a good spot. Way to follow your instincts 👍🏼
turkey videos two days in a row?!? 🤙
What state you in?
Love the footage!
You guys have to stop your getting me to excited 😂😂
Awesome video, loved the story you set up with the intro!
I love it guys gets me goin every year I watch y’all’s new releases
Perfect hunt
That "Spotter hen" on that log gave me some bad memories!
Congratulations nice bird👍🦃
WHAT A SHOT! Good work Greg.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for not naming the state you are hunting in!!! This helps reduce pressure and increase the hunting experience for locals and non residents alike. Naming the state is not necessary. You will get many more views from me and folks like myself when you do it this way. Well done!!!
Black Hills of South Dakota. Public land is for all to enjoy and with apps like OnX maps, people will find spots to hunt. Even private landowners have to deal with neighbors hunting right on the property line. Protecting a "honey hole" just doesn't exist in this day and age of technology.
That shot was chefs kiss, perfection.
Greg calls wAy to much
To answer the question I would sit and wait.
Nice
Good decision Greg...new gun huh!
